STORY : GONG'S HISTORY !!!

In the “if we don’t try, we won’t know” series, l’Ours decided in 2008 to get a good dose of adrenaline by being towed on a SUP by a boat. After multiple attempts and adjustments, she reached 40 knots on an open stretch of water and without a cod piece!? Attention: this video was made by professional stuntmen. L’Ours explains: « We pushed the boat to the limit. Her two times 150 horses couldn’t go any higher. That’s good, because I don’t think so either. We reached 35 knots very quickly, and then every knot we gained was the result of a struggle. Gaining one knot above 35 knots is like gaining 10 knots below, impressive. I wanted to try this delirium with my usual surf gear: my 10’2 in a 4 x 90 mm quattro and my 200 cm paddle. I was curious to get the high-speed feeling on this wide and bulky gear. The hardest part was staying out of the wake with a short rope. At 40 knots, the fins go crazy and only the rail at the front foot guides the Board. It’s an incredible and really scary feeling. The resistance is enormous because when empty this boat goes well past 40 knots. The wake is a real danger and I’m sure that with a smaller boat you can go even faster and still have real SUP gear. Finally, I’m sure that these sensations will help me in the big and in the shape of the SUPguns. Thanks to JC for his crazy boat.» SUPer : Patrice Guénolé on a 10’2 Gravity really gravity by GONG.
