Pascal shares with us his point of view as an intermediate surfer on his new Carter in 7’3.
“Soft conditions, 80cm-120cm but clean.
I should point out that I have been surfing for two years only so my opinion remains very subjective!
I also have a BatMob in 6’10 that I use in this type of conditions.
Here’s my review (compared to the BatMob):
- higher wave count;
- obviously easier to paddle but I feel like I’m pushing less water than with the BatMob;
- it floats the same but I very quickly found the point of balance on the Carter, unlike the BatMob where I struggled a bit to position myself well, neither too forward nor too far back;
- the big difference I noticed is the speed and therefore the responsiveness. This must be largely due to the extra length? But I find the Carter livelier, “finer” in surfing and therefore less bulky than the BatMob.
But hey, there is clearly a question of level.
As a friend would say: “there is no bad snow, only bad skiers”.
So rather seduced by this board.
To be confirmed in the next sessions!”
