Overview

The Neutra Boom 2027 is a smooth, light and ultra fluid wing, designed for surfing freely and keeping a natural feel through every phase of your ride. Its continuous boom gives you a direct connection to the wing and lets you place your hands exactly where you want them.

In surf, above all, it knows how to disappear. When flagged out, it floats easily by your side and follows changes in direction without disturbing the foil. You can focus on the wave, your foot pressure and your carves, with a wing that naturally follows the movement.

When you power back up, the Neutra instantly delivers smooth, stable support again. It accelerates without any harshness, maintains a comfortable level of pull on your arms and remains pleasant to control when the wind changes.

Its light feel and great mobility make transitions, speed build-up and changes of direction feel especially natural. The open tips and refined leading edge both contribute to that feeling of a free, maneuverable wing that’s easy to reposition.

The boom enhances that freedom even further. Its continuous grip lets you move your hands instantly, easily find your balance again and keep a precise connection with the wing, both in transitions and in committed sections.

The Neutra Boom 2027 brings together freefly, smoothness, glide and freedom of movement in a wing designed for riders who want to surf with a wing that follows their line rather than imposing it.

Strut

The Neutra Boom 2027 features a strut designed entirely around the boom to deliver smooth, precise and natural handling. Its triple-section construction and diameter that gradually tapers towards the rear allow the strut to flex evenly when the wing loads up. The profile is maintained over around 45% of its length, then the rear third tapers off to free up glide. The leading edge / strut connection and the shape of the rear cone complete this balance to maintain a consistent response that is easy to anticipate.

Profile

The Neutra Boom 2027 features a slightly tighter profile at the front to promote glide and maintain smooth, straight-line pull. The draft is concentrated at a precise point to deliver clear, stable support through the boom. Over the rear two thirds, the profile has been deliberately refined to free up the airflow and make the power easy to modulate. The wing therefore remains fluid, settled and progressive, with natural sheeting in and out in gusts as well as through transitions.

Outline

The Neutra Boom 2027 keeps the same wingspan and overall chord, but redistributes the surface area towards the centre and front of the wing. This geometry delivers well-directed pull, torque and efficient speed build-up, while maintaining a balanced, maneuverable outline. The wing accelerates easily, maintains power through lulls, and stays natural to reposition in transitions as well as in the waves.

Tips

The tips of the Neutra Boom 2027 feature a natural opening that allows them to twist off progressively under load and free up the glide. Their refined shape reduces inertia at the extremities and gives the wing a light, highly maneuverable feel. The Neutra repositions easily through changes of direction and gains in glide, upwind ability and freefly freedom, with a natural feel in the waves.

More than a promise, it’s a fact. No adapter needed: simply swap your 2023 boom for this excellent clip-in boom.

Panoramic view

The need for visibility, especially for safety, leads us to offer a panoramic view from your control station.

The four large PVC windows centered on the canopy and one PVC window on the spi panel guarantee you an exceptional panoramic view at first glance.

These PVC panels fit perfectly into the wing's profile and are highly resistant, especially to cold and creasing.

Shape updates

The Neutra Boom 2027’s shape has been refined around a clear goal: more glide, a lighter feel, and greater freedom in the waves, with smooth power that’s easy to use. Its taut forward profile and concentrated draft provide clear support when you sheet in, while the refined rear two-thirds deliver smooth pull and a progressive response when sheeting in and out.

The surface area is shifted forward, and the wingtips are more open and slimmer. Combined with a smaller-diameter leading edge, these changes reduce inertia and make the wing highly maneuverable, natural in freefly, and easy to reposition. It maintains smooth glide, effective upwind performance, and intuitive control as the wind picks up.

The boom-specific strut completes the balance. It has a three-section design and a gradually decreasing diameter, with its profile maintained over about 45% of its length before tapering through the rear third. The leading-edge-to-strut connection and carefully designed rear taper deliver a consistent, precise response under load.

The result is a smooth, lightweight Neutra with a direct connection to the boom, built for surfing and fluid freeride.

One Pump Max Flow System

The new Max Flow System improves airflow between the leading edge and the center strut with a redesigned valve and a higher-flow One Pump hose. Air transfers faster during inflation, helping the wing pressurize more efficiently and evenly.

The system retains the simplicity of One Pump while reducing setup time before your session. Once the wing is inflated, you can still shut off airflow between the bladders to isolate them.

With each new generation, we’ve refined every step of production to create wings that stay true to the original design, deliver consistent quality from one wing to the next, and maintain their performance over time. Panels are precision-cut digitally. Strategic reinforcements are assembled with automated processes where they improve consistency, while complex closing and finishing work remains in the hands of experienced craftspeople.

This combination of industrial precision and skilled handwork lets us control every detail of construction, including in the areas that take the most stress. Each wing then undergoes rigorous quality control, including a 24-hour pressure test before approval.
We choose materials with the same care, favoring proven options that deliver stiffness, performance, durability, and repairability. The goal isn’t just to build a wing that performs well when new, but one that remains reliable, repairable, and enjoyable to use season after season.

It will be particularly suitable for those who like the freedom of a continuous grip , want to move their hands naturally in transitions and seek a direct connection with the wing, while maintaining smooth and comfortable piloting.

For what ?

The Neutra Boom is primarily a waveriding and freefly wing. It naturally complements the foil in turns and remains very discreet when you depower it for surfing.

Its smooth profile and progressive power also make it very enjoyable for freeriding , transitions, and long runs. The boom adds great freedom in hand placement, allowing you to instantly adapt your stance to the rhythm of the ride.

Understanding our range of wings

Choose the Plus if you are primarily looking for ease of use, immediate handling and a versatile wing for learning and progressing.

Choose the Droid if you prioritize freestyle, pop, fast rotations and dynamic navigation with a compact and responsive wing.

Choose the Neutra if your priority is surfing, freeflying, smoothness, and maneuverability . It's discreet in the waves while maintaining the glide and performance needed for efficient freeriding.

The Boom version is ideal if you prefer a continuous grip and a direct connection with the wing , while the RH offers fixed hand positions with its handles.

What size should I choose?

Choose your size primarily based on your weight, wind strength, skill level, and the efficiency of your foil and board.

A larger size provides more power for early takeoffs and getting through lulls. A smaller size offers a lighter, more maneuverable feel as the wind picks up.

For a more surf-oriented riding style, a smaller size lets you make the most of the Neutra's agility and freefly performance, provided your foil and skill level allow you to take off easily.

Which foil goes with the Neutra?

To take full advantage of its surf and freefly program, the V3 Atmo range offers several particularly coherent combinations.

The Curve V3 Atmo prioritizes ease of use, carving, and control . It's the natural choice for progressing in the waves and enjoying an intuitive foil that easily enters turns.

The Fluid V3 Atmo is designed for riders seeking more speed, responsiveness, and commitment in turns . It perfectly complements the Neutra's mobility, allowing you to surf fast and link turns with precision.

The Veloce Free Fly V3 Atmo pushes the program further towards glide, freefly, and light conditions . Its efficiency allows you to maintain speed for longer and let the foil do its work when the wing is wind-deprived.

For a very committed surf program, the Ypra Surf V3 Atmo allows you to go towards an even more radical practice according to your style.

Which board with the Neutra?

The Mint , in FSP Pro or Hollow Carbon, is the versatile choice for combining freeride, freefly and waveriding . It offers an excellent balance between ease of use, glide and maneuverability.

The Lemon Hollow Carbon pushes the program further towards surfing with a compact and playful feel. It is suitable for riders who want a board that is lively underfoot and easy to turn .

For a clearly wave-oriented practice, the Lethal Hollow Carbon offers a very responsive and precise behavior, perfectly consistent with the freefly freedom of the Neutra.

The Cruzader Point , in FSP Pro or Hollow Carbon, is ideal for prioritizing glide, takeoff, and freefly . Its shape allows for efficient launches and easy speed maintenance in light conditions.

Carbon boom, full carbon boom, or two-part detachable carbon boom?

The Neutra Boom is designed exclusively to work with a boom . Three models allow you to adapt the feel and practicality to your program.

The Boom Carbon offers an excellent balance of stiffness, lightness, precision, and accessibility . It's the versatile solution for enjoying the Neutra in both surfing and freeriding.

The Boom Full Carbon prioritizes performance with its all-carbon construction. Its rigidity and lightness maximize the connection with the wing , providing a particularly precise response to pumping and changes in trajectory.

The Boom Carbon 2-Piece Detachable model maintains a direct feel while significantly reducing its size when disassembled. It's the ideal solution for easy storage, transport, and travel .

Which leash?

A wing leash of 5'5 to 8' will be suitable for the majority of practices.

A short leash allows for quick wing recovery after a fall, which is particularly useful in freestyle when making repeated attempts. A longer leash provides more distance between the foil and the wing during a fall.

Check its condition regularly and replace it as soon as it shows signs of wear. The leash is an essential element of your safety.

Do not unnecessarily let your wing flap in the wind at the end of the leash and never try to abruptly hold the wing by the leash in the waves.

Harness or no harness?

The Neutra works perfectly without a harness for surfing and very mobile sessions, where you want to be able to move the wing freely and change position quickly.

For fast freeriding, long tacks or when sailing with a lot of power, the harness allows you to greatly relieve the arms and exploit the power of the wing for a longer time.

All our wings have dedicated attachment points for harness lines. Start with a generous length to make attaching and detaching easier, then gradually reduce the length as you gain experience.

Opt for a lightweight, compact harness and a thin line dedicated to the wing. The goal is to relieve strain on the arms without restricting freedom of movement, especially during transitions and tricks.

Lines 24 to 28 cm long between the batten and the V-shape will be ideal. A length of 30 to 32 cm makes it easier to start. A thin diameter line and a thin sheath are essential because windsurf lines, for example, are too heavy and stiff, and therefore dangerous during tacks and other tricks.

Need a replacement bladder?

Bladders, valves and other components remain available as spare parts to repair and maintain your Neutra over time.

The Neutra makes a real difference in a quiver as soon as you look to surf more and let the wing fade into the background of your piloting .

Its freefly behavior, light feel and ease in following changes of trajectory allow you to fully concentrate on the foil and the wave .

It complements a versatile Plus wing or a freestyle-oriented Droid wing particularly well. This gives you a wing dedicated to sessions where turns, glide, and freedom of movement are paramount .

5 windows

The NEUTRA Boom 2027 incorporates five windows distributed throughout the sail to maintain good environmental awareness without disrupting the wing's behavior.

Their position allows them to better anticipate other practitioners, obstacles and trajectories during starts, transitions or close navigation.

A real plus for learning, progressing and navigating with peace of mind, while keeping a wing light, balanced and easy to pilot.

Semi-rigid downwind textile handle

Almost rigid, the downwind handle offers a more precise and direct grip to improve wing control in freefly and surfing.

It allows for better one-handed control of the wing while maintaining enough flexibility to remain comfortable during windless sailing phases.

The new oval seams and added reinforcements at the anchor points distribute stress more effectively on the leading edge, in order to improve the overall durability.

The Dyneema leash attachment is now positioned on the underside of the handle. This keeps the leash better away from the grip area and less of an obstruction to the hands during freeflying.

Rapid inflation with the One Pump Max Flow system

The leading edge and center strut are connected by the One Pump system to quickly inflate the entire wing from a single valve . Once the wing is pressurized, the clip allows the two bladders to be isolated to maintain the wing's buoyancy in case of damage to the strut or leading edge.

A second valve is integrated into the ski to speed up deflation. Simply open the valves on the leading edge and the ski to quickly release the air and facilitate folding and storage.

To preserve the wing's structure, always deflate the strut at the same time as the leading edge and do not leave the strut under pressure on its own.

Fiberglass micro-slats

Fiberglass micro-battens are integrated into the trailing edge to effectively limit flapping and maintain the profile to the tip of the sail.

They stabilize the trailing edge, improve profile stability and promote cleaner flow to maintain a precise and efficient wing, even as speed increases.

Lightweight, durable and easily replaceable , they also allow you to easily maintain your wing and extend its performance over time.

Camera safety loops

Discreet nylon safety ties are integrated on each tip and near the strut to secure your camera when mounted on the leading edge or slat with a suitable mount.

Their positioning is designed to keep the leash out of the camera's field of view and prevent any interference while riding. This allows you to film your sessions from multiple angles, maintaining a clean and secure setup, without the risk of losing your camera in case of a fall.

Repair kit

A repair kit is included with your wing to perform common repairs and extend its lifespan.

It includes patches adapted to bladders and fabrics , practical for quick intervention in case of small perforation, cut or tear.

Carrying bag

The wing comes with a practical and robust carrying bag, designed to facilitate storage, transport and storage between sessions.

Its generous size allows for easy storage of the folded wing and its accessories, while its compact design simplifies transport to the spot and minimizes bulk in the vehicle or at home. Please note that the bag is not compatible with a wing that has the boom attached.

At GONG, durability is part of the design specifications from the outset. But making a wing last also means being able to maintain and repair it over time.

That is why we are committed to offering the components necessary for the maintenance of our wings for 10 years : bladders, valves, fabrics and specific parts remain accessible to extend the lifespan of your equipment as much as possible.

If needed, you have two options:

Spare parts are available to order so you can carry out maintenance yourself or entrust the repair to your usual workshop.

If a product is temporarily unavailable, we will do our best to restock it as soon as possible.

What is the difference between the Neutra Boom 2027 and the Neutra 2026?

The Neutra Boom 2027 keeps the Neutra’s surf and freefly DNA, with major work on the profile, strut, tips and leading edge.

The forward profile is slightly tensioned and the draft is more concentrated to deliver clear, stable support, while the rear two thirds are refined to enhance glide and make sheeting in and out more progressive.

The leading edge diameter has been reduced, and the tips are more open and refined to lower inertia while keeping a light, mobile feel.

The new Boom strut features a triple-section design, a diameter that tapers steadily towards the rear, and a profile maintained over around 45% of its length before a refined rear third. The result is a wing that feels smooth, precise and natural on the boom.

Is it a good wing for beginners?

That’s not its main purpose. To get started in wing foiling and learn the basics easily, the Plus remains more focused on ease and learning.

The Neutra Boom really comes into its own once you’re riding independently and want to progress towards surf, freefly, transitions and smooth, dynamic riding.

Is it suited to wave riding and freefly?

Yes, that’s exactly what it excels at.

Its balance, refined leading edge and open tips give the Neutra a very light feel when flagged out. It naturally floats by your side and follows changes of direction with ease.

The boom lets you move your hands freely and instantly find a natural grip again when you take the wing back in hand. That way, you can focus on the foil, your foot pressure and the wave.

How does it perform in light wind?

The Neutra Boom retains good low-end power and efficient speed build-up.

The area positioned towards the centre and the front delivers torque for pumping and helps get the board going. The direct connection with the boom also lets you transmit your input with precision.

Once flying, the wing’s glide helps maintain speed and carry through the lulls. Paired with a board that lifts off efficiently and a foil with plenty of glide, it makes for a high-performance setup in light conditions.

How does it handle when the wind picks up?

The reduced leading edge diameter, open tips and refined rear profile give the Neutra Boom a smooth, easy-to-control feel in the top end.

Power is naturally easy to modulate with sheeting in and out, and the pull stays comfortable on the arms. The wing therefore maintains glide, precision and control as speed and gusts increase.

No. The Neutra Boom is designed exclusively to work with a boom.

Its strut, stiffness zones and handling have been developed around this continuous grip. If you prefer riding with handles, the Neutra RH is the version dedicated to that setup.
