SUP Inflatable I-SUP Race
Program
Sporty outings, training, downwinders and races on all bodies of water with a high-end board!
Presentation
I-SUP boards are high-end boards created by Patrice Guénolé, a pioneering shaper in the world of Stand Up Paddle, and a team of passionate engineers.
The I-SUP Race is both fast and safe ; ideal in choppy conditions or for intermediate paddlers.
This comfortable and lightweight board allows for intense physical training, to develop a pro technique, and to achieve great racing performances thanks to its superior quality construction in woven dropstitch fusion reinforced by two stringers.
Its new Ridge Traction pad offers you secure support with all the comfort you will need in these conditions.
The perfect way to line up for the weekend's races!
It is much easier than the Flat Water, especially in turns, with three widths in 12'6 and two widths in 14' available to find the board that matches your size, your level and the program!
And beyond the race, you can simply go out on the water with friends to clear your head, without spending a fortune, without clutter, without risk of breakage, without having to move your garage; and thus just enjoy its very good glide.
And it all fits into a redesigned bag where the board and all your equipment naturally find their place!
Zen and sporty.
With a superb design, the I-SUP Race is truly a very beautiful Stand Up Paddle board at a record price in the high-end category.
Outline
Its narrow outline is designed for smooth gliding, while maintaining a secure tail . Its sleek lines are engineered to maximize paddling speed . Its wide tail stabilizes your movements on the water, in choppy conditions, and allows you to truly surf when needed, especially downwind. This efficient and user-friendly performance is the result of a sophisticated adaptation of the thousands of templates we've developed over the past 30 years.
Rocker
Its low rocker allows for maximum speed . If you want to increase the pace, its streamlined shape will accelerate effortlessly.
Rigid tail rail
The semi-rigid rails at the tail form an edge that improves steering precision and enhances water exits. You go faster and the steering is more precise.
In 2026, its integration is optimized with softer tips and ever closer to a rigid board.
Square tail
Its square tail helps with rearing up without falling when rounding a buoy or pivoting in waves during beach races. It's forgiving of positioning errors and water conditions . It facilitates downwind surf starts and provides good control of turns while surfing.
Rails
The rails are round, like on all inflatable boards. But we used this natural shape to help the water glide over the board . The water doesn't stick to the rails.
Nose
The narrow nose maximizes water penetration . It maintains buoyancy with sufficient width in front of the feet to ensure support during a dynamic paddling stroke. In more challenging conditions, its almost bow-like nose allows for smooth passage through chop.
Technical sheet
SUP Inflatable I-SUP Race 12'6 x 28
Shape:
- Rocker: virtually constant and low. Maximum speed.
- Rails: naturally smooth and rounded throughout, providing a very efficient glide. A stiff, straight rail at the tail for better take-off.
- Volume: the thickness is significant for acceleration. It offers generous volume.
- Outline: a wide tail for balance and surfing, moderate in the centre, and a race-style nose to generate and maintain lift during dynamic paddling.
- Tail: rounded square tail for stability and surf-style handling.
- Nose: pointed nose for paddling speed.
Buying guide
For whom?
The shape of this board makes it ideal for experienced or athletic paddlers. Nothing insurmountable, as the width is reasonable and its tail facilitates turns. In its wider version, it's almost "easy."
However, we do not recommend it if you are a beginner because it is still a racing board.
For what ?
Its goal is to glide as smoothly as possible, even in challenging conditions. Therefore, it is comfortable on all bodies of water and in all weather conditions.
Paddling fast, training, sporty cruising, going down beautiful downwinds, surfing small mushy waves, racing… That’s what this board loves.
What size board is needed for the I-SUP Race?
While anything is possible, we outline the main uses here:
The 12'6 x 26'' Race:
- Trips of less than an hour and a half on fairly calm water.
- Downwind: it's tricky but it works with its wide tail.
- Size: ideally less than 85kg but it doesn't matter as long as your level allows you to handle this width.
The 12'6 x 28'' Race:
- Trips of less than an hour and a half on all bodies of water.
- Downwind sailing: it's great.
- Size: ideally less than 100kg but it doesn't matter as long as your level allows you to handle this technical tail.
The 12'6 x 30'' Race:
- Trips of less than an hour and a half on all bodies of water.
- Downwind: it's easy.
- Size: ideally less than 100kg but it doesn't matter as long as your level allows you to handle this race-type shape.
The 14'0 x 26'' Race:
- Trips lasting over an hour on fairly calm water.
- Downwind: it's sporty but manageable with its wide tail.
- Build: it doesn't matter as long as your level allows you to handle this shape race.
The 14'0 x 28'' Race:
- Trips lasting more than one hour on all bodies of water.
- Downwind sailing: it's great.
- Build: it doesn't matter as long as your level allows you to handle this shape race.
Understanding the GONG range?
What is the difference between our I-SUP range and our First range?
Which quiver?
This board goes hand in hand with a GONG Carbon Pro paddle cut to your size, and a set of high-end FCS fins in fiberglass or carbon.
What paddle length?
Your paddling technique, posture, and stroke rate all depend on your paddling style. You'll need to set your paddle quite high for a leisurely paddle trip lasting several hours. Conversely, your paddle will be set very low for surfing, as you'll need a high stroke rate to catch a wave. Take the time to properly adjust your paddle, as it's the driving force behind this activity, and this adjustment will largely determine your stability and performance.
Some examples:
A 100% surf session, adjust your paddle between your height and +10cm.
For a more relaxed surfing experience, a paddle with a +10cm length will be perfect.
When paddling, adjust your paddle between +10 and +20cm.
Which leash?
Take a leash that is approximately the length of your board and at least 7mm in diameter.
Check its condition before each session and replace it annually. It's your life jacket.
Good to know:
Never leave your board in the sun, especially an inflatable one, which heats up very quickly. It could start to peel apart because the materials become brittle in the heat. Never store it under a car window or near any heat source.
Never let your board get battered by the waves, especially near the shore. You must protect it from the harshest forces. A wave that sweeps your board away and rolls it can cause damage.
Don't hold onto the leash indefinitely, as it can break under very high tension. Avoid large waves and don't resist. If it breaks, it's easy to replace but frustrating.
Stay away from oysters: they are one of the few shellfish that can cut your board and sink it in seconds. Extreme caution is advised.
Don't let your inflatable surfboard rub against anything for extended periods. For example, on a boat, your board might move with each wave and rub against the same spot for hours. The material will disintegrate because it will be sanded down. You'll end up with a hole that will need to be patched.
Never put the board between you and the wave: risk of injury such as a broken nose ;-)
Don't paddle offshore in offshore winds, and avoid windy outings as they are rarely enjoyable and always dangerous. Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is an activity that carries real risks, even in seemingly calm conditions. Always anticipate these risks and protect yourself.
