FEEDBACK: CRUZADER DIAMOND HOLLOW CARBON 2027
The glide of a mid-length shape enhanced by the efficiency of game-changing technology.
Foiler: Boris, GONG ambassador, on the Cruzader Diamond Hollow Carbon 5’8 with a Neutra V3 lowkite.
A completely different Cruzader Diamond!
“I was lucky enough to get an early test of the new Cruzader Diamond Hollow in 79 liters, with its blue and white graphics. As soon as I unpacked it, I thought it looked amazing. I had already ridden a slightly lower-volume Cruzader Diamond and absolutely loved that shape. So I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect on the water. I was wrong!”
Lightness and stiffness
“As soon as you pick it up, the light weight is immediately surprising. I measured around 3.9 kg on my scale, which is not the most accurate, but the difference compared with my other boards is obvious even without weighing it. Its lines and bottom shape have also evolved. And when you tap on it, it almost resonates like a drum: it gives a serious impression of stiffness.”
An earlier takeoff
“My riding is mainly parawing and parawing downwind. I wanted a comfortable, compact board with a reasonable amount of volume and a quick takeoff. On my first session, I was slightly underpowered, but I immediately found my stance. The stability is there with no adjustment period. With the first small pumping movement, the board responds instantly under your feet. My feeling is clear: it takes off significantly earlier.”
Maximum responsiveness, minimum inertia
“When riding, it feels like the board and foil become one. Every input is transmitted directly, with a lot of responsiveness and energy return. I’m not claiming to give a technical analysis here, I’m simply describing what I felt on the water. And I felt this new sensation within the first few minutes.
I still need to test it in stronger wind. Given how light it is, I’ll be particularly careful when carrying it with the foil attached, putting it down on the beach and during falls, especially since I’m used to riding without a leash. So far, I only see positives. The only problem is that once you’ve tried Hollow, going back might be difficult!” Thanks Boris for this feedback!
