Project Thruster Fins Set - ST Box
Program
A powerful and structured fin designed to maximize control, projection, and acceleration in committed waves.
Presentation
The Project fin is designed for surfers seeking control, power, and projection . Its increased height enhances leverage under the board, allowing for strong turns. It encourages aggressive carving and fully harnessing the wave's energy.
Its neutral template, combined with increased depth, offers an excellent balance between stability and maneuverability. The board remains responsive at high speeds and allows for powerful bottom turns followed by crisp acceleration . The feel underfoot is solid, with a real sense of anchoring in critical sections.
The Project excels in fast, hollow, or powerful waves, where precision and stability are essential. It prioritizes line and projection, maintaining speed in the fast sections.
Ideal for high-performance shortboards, it is aimed at surfers who push hard and are looking for powerful trajectories with marked rebound.
Template
Neutral template with moderate rake, designed to draw powerful lines while maintaining good freedom of movement. This setup favors committed turns while keeping consistent control through fast sections.

Base
Base tapering quickly to free up the board through transitions while still retaining enough material to efficiently transfer power and engage solid pressure through turns.

Depth
Increased depth, providing extra leverage under the board and reinforcing hold, stability, and the ability to handle powerful pressure in fast or hollow waves.

Surface area
Well distributed surface area along the fin height, with a refined tip to combine control at the bottom of the wave and progressive release out of turns. This setup delivers powerful, precise, and stable surfing at high speed.

Setup
The thruster setup is a reference for surfers seeking a balance between control, speed, and maneuverability. The center fin provides line hold and stability through turns, while the side fins enhance drive and engagement during direction changes. This setup delivers reliable and versatile performance, suited both to committed maneuvers and more technical sections, across a wide range of conditions.

Buying guide
Who is it for?
The Project is designed for powerful surfers who ride in solid conditions. It suits advanced intermediate to expert levels. It is ideal for those who like to commit strongly to their turns and surf with speed. It brings a lot of control and stability at high speed. It allows you to load your turns without losing the line. This is a fin for surfers who like to push hard.
What is it for?
The Project thruster is designed for solid conditions and powerful surfers. It is intended for high-performance shortboards, step-ups, and boards made for fast or hollow waves. Its increased depth provides a high level of control and hold at high speed, allowing strong commitment in bottom turns and critical sections. It secures the line in powerful conditions and lets you surf with confidence in demanding waves. An ideal fin for charging.
What size?

Fin size mainly depends on the following factors:
- body weight
- surfer’s style
- board volume
- surf conditions
A heavier or more powerful surfer will need larger fins to maintain enough surface in the water for grip and control.
A lighter surfer can use smaller fins to reduce drag and make the board more maneuverable.
Surf style also plays an important role. A surfer who prioritizes quick turns and short transitions may choose slightly smaller fins for more responsiveness. A surfer who drives hard through turns or rides powerful waves will benefit from larger fins for stability and projection.
In general:
- Larger = more grip and control
- Smaller = more speed and maneuverability
The more voluminous the board, the more fin surface is needed to control it.
Finally, conditions also influence the choice. In small or soft waves, slightly smaller fins help generate more speed.
Whereas in fast or hollow waves, larger fins provide more grip and security in critical sections.
In summary, the right size is the one that balances speed, control, and maneuverability depending on the surfer, the board, and the waves.
