This evolution is based in particular on in-depth work on the structure:

Optimal depower for maximum comfort

The stability on the front half of the lowkite and the release of the rear half of the profile considerably increase the depower of the lowkite Plus.

The increased overall rigidity and the reinforced leading edge allow the lowkite to handle more power, significantly improving its high-end performance. The lowkite remains stable for a long time, even when the wind picks up.

The riding comfort and wind range are enormous: you can easily ride with an overpowered lowkite, using a harness for example, even with a minimalist harness. A 4m² lowkite is more than adequate for challenging sessions in 20-25 knots. This allows you to ride with a compact, low-volume board and a small foil.

Featuring a single-skin structure with a pronounced arc, significant twist, and a short bridle, the Lowkite Plus offers unparalleled stability.

The shape improvements further enhance this strength: increased leading edge overlap, longer infill panels (+32%), and repositioned bridle points with a slight setback of the A's, particularly at the tips. All of this perfectly locks the lowkite into its shape.

The profile of the Plus lowkite is designed for perfect stability on the front half of the lowkite, allowing for near-complete depower of the rear half of the profile when the bar is slightly opened. Therefore, it facilitates takeoffs on a large board and a generous foil for beginners and boosts progression on smaller boards with faster foils for already experienced riders.

Its program is simple: to propel you on freeride edges, link maneuvers and thanks to its perfect upwind performance: to stow the wing and glide on the foil using the bumps.

Its use therefore ranges from cool freeride to downwind, where it allows you to get going without difficulty before being stored under a rash guard or in a small bag.

Its stability and gentle power also make it an excellent tool for first lowkite rides, allowing you to ride without worrying about overly demanding wing management.

What size?

The Lowkite Plus now covers all sizes from 2 to 6 m², with half sizes available for a perfect fit. Choosing your size is simple and intuitive, depending on your build and the wind conditions. Thanks to the significantly expanded high-end range, you can fully enjoy more challenging sessions without needing multiple kites in your luggage. One kite, maximum freedom and performance on the water.

How to choose the right size?

Keep in mind that this is very similar to wing surface habits.

Beginner/Safety: Opt for a larger size to ensure easier takeoff in moderate wind conditions. A 4m² kite in 15-20 knots is a good compromise between ease of use and power.
Experienced / Performance: Lighter or more experienced riders can go down in size for better maneuverability, or up in size to gain low-end range with a 5m2 in 10/12 knots.
Strong winds: The smaller sizes (3m², 2m²) are suitable for sustained winds and riders looking for more control. With a harness, the wind range is enormous.

The Lowkite Plus can be associated with a setup optimized for downwind but not only that, it can also be used with your wing setup once you have passed the progression stages.

In a more traditional approach, a generously sized foil (2 or 3 sizes larger than your wing setup) and a large, smooth-gliding board are perfect for a smooth progression. Balance should be easy on your board, and takeoff should be gradual thanks to the foil. In this case, you'll be able to enjoy your first runs without any problems after just one hour of practice.

Board: A mid-length or downwind foil board with good glide is essential.
Foil: A generous foil with a large surface area (> 1000 cm²) to guarantee rapid lift and facilitate gliding without the need for excessive power.
Accessories: A fitted lycra or a small bag to store the wing once launched.

This equipment allows you to exploit the full potential of the lowkite Plus, maximizing the fluidity and ease of transitions to a purely foil glide.

Which leash?

For your safety, we strongly recommend the use of a board leash because your lowkite has no buoyancy, so the leash becomes essential.

Board leash: A straight leash will prevent tangling in the bridles. A waist belt leash will be more comfortable: it won't drag in the water or get caught under your feet. A coiled leash has the disadvantage of tangling more easily in your lowkite bridles. Be careful of tangles in waves, where leashes and bridles can become dangerous. Be cautious.

Lowkite leash: in theory, you should use one, but it's clearly completely unnecessary. If you release your single-skin lowkite on the water, you'll see it won't travel more than 50 meters and will come to a stop on the surface. Paddling on your board will easily catch it. Obviously, in waves, if you let go, it risks being tossed around and sinking momentarily. It's hard to lose with its fluorescent color, but we think it's best not to be attached to it in waves because the pull is potentially enormous, and because getting tangled in the bridles in waves is extremely dangerous: risk of cutting your fingers or ears, or drowning from suffocation. Clearly, you must stay away from the lowkite in waves if it falls. We strongly emphasize this point, which means avoiding waves altogether.
