Overview

The Flash is the most lively and freest fin in the upright twin range. Directly inspired by thruster templates, it translates that logic into a twin setup to deliver modern, fast, and highly responsive surfing. Its compact outline, moderate surface area, and relatively straight base help free up the board under the back foot while still maintaining enough control to commit to maneuvers.

It stands out for its ability to turn tightly and link rapid rail-to-rail transitions. Where a keel fin prioritizes line and projection, the Flash allows for a more vertical approach, attacking sections and staying highly mobile in the pocket. It still preserves the natural speed typical of twin fin setups, with minimal drag.

It is the ideal fin for surfers looking for a modern twin that is nervous and radical, capable of handling dynamic and technical surfing.

Template

Thruster-inspired twin upright template. The rake is low to moderate, favoring pivot and fast redirections. It enables tight turning and high responsiveness in transitions.

Base

The base is relatively short and straight, which reduces drag and frees up the board. It creates a very loose feel under the back foot.

Depth

The depth is pronounced, which compensates for the absence of a central fin and provides control in critical sections, especially in fast waves.

Surface area

The surface is moderate, which favors speed and maneuverability. It is concentrated toward the base to maintain a minimum level of stability.

Setup

The twin setup is a configuration that prioritizes speed, glide and freedom. With only two fins, the board generates very little drag, allowing it to accelerate easily and maintain a natural flow down the line.

The feeling is very loose and responsive: the tail remains mobile, rail-to-rail transitions are fast, and surfing is carried with a lot of fluidity. The board turns easily, with a “loose” feel that encourages fast lines and spontaneous maneuvers.

This is an ideal setup for fast, relaxed surfing, using the natural speed of the wave with maximum glide and freedom in line choice.

What size?

In general:

The more volume a board has, the more fin area is needed to control it.

Finally, conditions also influence the choice. In small or soft waves, slightly smaller fins help generate more speed.
