PRESENTATION

Discover the GONG Bodyguard cut-resistant neck protection: specially designed to provide you with enhanced protection against cuts during your foil sessions.

This cut protection attaches to our GONG surf hat Sunguard in a flash thanks to its three buttons.

Faced with the various risks of cuts on the stabilizer, the front wing, and the mast, it seemed necessary to propose a new solution.

We have always prioritized safety in our foils, using non-sharp trailing edges, round or square tips, and clear instructions. However, at high speeds or during impacts, or with a competition foil, cuts are inevitable.

We have therefore developed the Bodyguard range of technical textile products, incorporating high-end technologies inherited from the world of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Made from HPPE (High Performance Polyethylene) fibers, the Bodyguard neck protector offers certified cut resistance level D according to the EN 388 standard. Applied to our sports, this cutting-edge technology ensures you additional protection against cuts related to foils and daggerboards.

By covering the neck, this protection safeguards a particularly vulnerable area against cuts and sunburn.

Our goal isn't to eliminate cuts: that's unrealistic. Foil sports are extreme sports, particularly because of this risk. Therefore, caution is essential in all situations. But accidents are still possible. Our aim is to reduce their consequences by eliminating minor, everyday cuts and minimizing the severity of serious injuries.

Attention

The risk of serious injury cannot be completely eliminated. The Bodyguard neck protector should reduce the risk of cuts and their consequences, but it cannot protect against all injuries. Your caution is the most effective barrier against danger. Limiting cuts does not protect against punctures or extremely sharp objects. Be careful not to use very sharp or pointed foils. Blunt them if necessary by sanding the cutting edge into a round or square shape. We also strongly recommend combining the wearing of a Bodyguard product with a thick suit, booties, an impact vest, and above all, a helmet!

Compatibility with the Gong Surf Hat Sunguard

The anti-cut neck protection attaches to our hat in place of the initial flap and thus protects you from cuts.

Maintenance advice:

Wash cold, maximum 30° with a lower spin speed.
Do not put it in the dryer.
Excessive washing can harm the effectiveness of the material.
