Wing Foil Board Zuma WOOD 2X
Description
Programme
The easiest rigid board for learning and progressing in wing foiling, with all the stability you need to also enjoy SUP foiling and lowkite.
Overview
The Zuma is the board that makes foiling simple. Stable, reassuring and easy to get gliding, it lets you take your time discovering wing foiling, progress with confidence and enjoy every session without turning the pre-flight phases into a battle.
In wing foiling, everything feels more natural. Its length, generous outline and wide tail provide huge stability for climbing onto the board, getting onto your knees, lifting the wing and then standing up without rushing. It builds glide progressively, forgives trim mistakes and lets you build your take-off step by step. Less energy spent staying upright means more energy available to learn how to fly.
Its 2027 shape keeps the ease that defines the Zuma's DNA while bringing the rider even closer to the foil. The recessed deck reduces the height under your feet to transmit foot pressure more directly and give clearer feedback. Volume remains generous in the nose and tail to keep plenty of support through slower phases, with a board that inspires confidence even before take-off.
In SUP foiling, that stability also completely changes the approach. The Zuma offers enough length to glide cleanly while paddling and enough surface area to wait for the wave without constantly fighting for balance. Its generous nose provides solid support under the front foot, while its very buoyant tail provides an excellent platform to push against on take-off. You paddle, accelerate, take off and surf without having to do everything in a rush.
That forgiveness also shows up during touchdowns. The softer forward rails, the nose shaping and the hull let the board reconnect with the water without immediately punishing the rider. It bounces back, restabilises and gives you more time to correct your trim and get going again.
In lowkite, the same logic works perfectly: loads of stability to set up your start, clean glide before take-off and enough volume to take your time when the pull is light or inconsistent.
The Zuma is foiling made easy: loads of stability to get started, enough glide to progress, and above all a board that gives you the time to do things properly.
OUTLINE
The Zuma keeps a generous outline with enough length to naturally generate glide, while maintaining a comfortable width to make every phase before take-off more secure. You can take your time, find your footing and let the board build speed progressively, or use that glide straight away to trigger take-off.
This combination takes much of the stress out of getting going, making the Zuma a particularly reassuring board for learning and progressing.

ROCKER
The rocker stays fairly flat to prioritise glide. The Zuma builds speed progressively without requiring strenuous pumping, which makes learning to take-off much easier and helps with light-wind starts.
At the rear, the pronounced kick tail helps the board release from the water as the foil lifts and limits tail contact during the first pumps and touchdowns.

HULL
The rear section of the hull is wide, flat and optimes for planing to create a large effective surface on the water.
It provides immediate stability and efficiently converts power from the wing, lowkite or paddle into speed for take-off. Up front, the double concave combined with a slightly larger flat area for 2027 provides more support while progressively channelling the flow during touchdowns. The Zuma stays stable, glides and forgives.

TAIL
The wide squash tail is one of the key elements behind the Zuma’s ease of use. Its generous surface area provides a huge amount of support when stationary, both on your knees and standing up, and creates a very stable platform to initiate take-off. The tail lets you progressively load the back foot without unsettling the board. Combined with the pronounced kick tail, it then makes water release easier and supports your first pumps with plenty of forgiveness.

RAILS
The rails stay straight and sharp through the rear third to allow water to release cleanly and deliver drive during acceleration. This geometry gives the Zuma effective planing performance while keeping it easy to handle. Moving forward towards the nose, the rails gradually become rounder and softer so they do not catch when the board touches the water, while increasing forgiveness in chop.

NOSE
The generous rounded point nose provides plenty of support up front while keeping a progressive, confidence-inspiring shape.
Its bulb puts the volume exactly where the rider needs it when loading the front foot, making take-off more secure and reducing the risk of pearling. Combined with the double concave and softened rails, it also allows the Zuma to bounce back rather than bury the nose during a touchdown or nose dive.

Buying guide
Who is it for?
The Zuma is primarily aimed at riders who want to start out and progress easily in wing foiling, with plenty of stability and without having to rush to get up on foil.
Its versatility also makes it suitable for SUP foiling and lowkite. In SUP foiling, you do still need to know how to paddle properly on a compact SUP. In lowkite, its stability lets you calmly break down each stage of the start.
The more volume you choose, the more comfortable and forgiving the board will be. A volume closer to your body weight will require more balance and fitness.
What for?
The Zuma is the board for learning without struggling and progressing for a long time.
In wing foiling, its stability makes every stage before take-off easier, and its length provides the glide needed to take off progressively, including in light wind.
In SUP foiling, it lets you paddle, wait for the wave and take off without constantly searching for balance. It then remains progressive enough to surf and start linking waves with pumping.
In lowkite, its balance lets you focus first on the wing, then on building speed and getting up on foil, without any rush.
What board size?

To get started, choose a board with plenty of volume for your weight. More volume brings more stability on your knees, more comfort in chop and makes the starting phases easier.
Which foil?
The Zuma works particularly well with the X-Over and Ascent foils, perfectly in line with its progression-focused programme.
X-Over: for getting started simply.
Its smooth take-off, stability and predictable behaviour make it the natural choice for first flights, first upwind runs and first maneuvers.
Ascent: to progress further.
Still easy and forgiving, it brings more freedom, maneuverability and potential to support progression without having to change foil straight away.
Which stab?
With an X-Over front wing, the X-Over stab is the natural choice to keep the foil very stable, progressive and easy to control.
With an Ascent front wing, the choice of stab lets you fine-tune the foil's behaviour more according to the rider's level and the feel you're after. On the Zuma, the preferred setup is one focused on stability, support and ease, consistent with its accessible programme.
The stab size then depends on the rider's weight, level, the conditions and the size of the front wing.
Which board bag?

Delivery
Is the Zuma suitable for getting started in wing foiling?
Yes. It’s a very accessible board, with plenty of stability at low speed and enough glide to build speed progressively for take-off.
Is this board only for beginners?
No. It’s ideal for learning, but still progressive enough to keep improving, especially if you prioritise comfort, ease and versatility.
Can the Zuma be used for SUP foiling?
Yes. Its stability and length make paddling, waiting and catching waves easier. However, it’s best if you’re already comfortable paddling a compact SUP.
Is the Zuma suitable for lowkite?
Yes. Its stability gives you time to manage the lowkite, get to your feet, then gradually build speed before take-off.
Why choose a Zuma over a more compact board?
Because it offers more stability and glide before take-off. It takes less energy to accelerate and feels more comfortable as you learn.
Zuma or Lance?
The Zuma prioritises glide, stability and versatility across wing foiling, SUP foiling and lowkite. The Lance remains very accessible, but in a more compact format and with more of a wing foiling / lowkite focus.
Which foil should you choose with the Zuma?
The X-Over is the natural choice for getting started with maximum stability and control. The Ascent then lets you keep that ease while offering more freedom and room to progress.
Is the WOOD 2X construction suitable for a beginner?
Yes. Its full wood sandwich construction, combined with reinforcements in the most stressed areas, prioritises strength, durability and an excellent value for money.
