Bastien Escofet looks back at the lowkites that helped him win 11 out of 12 races at the SRT Parawing World Cup in Cabarete.

This competition held in the Dominican Republic featured two completely different formats: short, highly technical races, followed by a 12 km downwind. The requirements were therefore very different from one race to another, and our team rider adapted his gear accordingly.

Plus V3 lowkite: the most versatile choice for technical races

"For all the short races, I used the Plus V3 lowkites in 3.5, 4 and 5 m².

On this type of course, you need a wing that can do it all: get up on foil quickly, accelerate hard after pumping, point efficiently upwind, power back up without losing speed, and remain easy to control all the way to the finish.

What I appreciate most about the Plus V3 is its versatility. It remains incredibly stable in flight and keeps its profile perfectly, even when the wind becomes inconsistent. I can really focus on my speed and lines rather than flying the wing.

Its upwind ability was also a real advantage throughout the competition. The starts and the race courses required precise upwind angles to stay on the best possible line. The Plus naturally drives forward, maintains speed, and lets you gain meters on every tack without having to push it.

This stability is just as valuable during power-ups. The wing delivers smooth, progressive pull and always remains predictable, allowing me to push hard throughout the entire race. Over a weekend with conditions ranging from 15 to 25 knots and well-developed swell, it was exactly what I was looking for. The V3 brings even better profile stability, improved overall stability, and stronger upwind performance while keeping its incredibly intuitive handling.

These technical races also included full stash sections. Once again, the Plus made the difference: it was easy to stash and redeploy, whereas a Pulse would have required much greater precision."

Neutra Light V3: the ultimate weapon for downwind

"For the 12 km long-distance race, I chose the Neutra Light V3 4 m².

The objective was different. Once up on foil, I wanted a wing that would disappear as quickly as possible so I could fully enjoy linking the bumps. That's exactly where the Neutra Light stands out.
