Foil Front Wing Ypra Surf-Freestyle V3 Atmo - Pro Team Series
Description
Program
The Pro Team carbon front wing for radical surf-freestyle in wing and kite foiling: aggressive pop, powerful repop, rotations, aerial tricks, snaps, drifts, and intense waveriding in messy waves.
Introduction
The Ypra Surf-Freestyle V3 Atmo Pro Team Series is the carbon front wing dedicated to radical surf-freestyle in wing and kite foiling: aerial tricks, rotations, grabs, airs, snaps, drifts, repops, and explosive maneuvers.
It retains the explosive shape of the Ypra Surf-Freestyle V3 and adopts the Pro Team Series identity with the 3K Texalium Purple clear carbon finish. It keeps its DNA: compact, responsive, creative, designed to go hard without seeking passive glide.
Its pop is the core of the program. The compact shape, highly curved leading edge, and straight trailing edge promote a clean water release. The rider loads, compresses, releases: the wing responds immediately, exits the water sharply, and transforms the impulse into height.
The repop is equally important. It must be able to land cleanly, relaunch instantly, and go into a new move. Its very forgiving profile helps the foil remain stable in wave turbulence or landings.
Its moderate aspect ratio, from 6.8 to 7.6 depending on the size, combines extreme maneuverability, early takeoff, solid lift, and sufficient speed to charge hard. The centered surface keeps the lift close to the supports, maximizes rail to rail, and offers exceptional pivot.
The nearly flat anhedral maximizes lift, water exit, and foil readability. It promotes a sharp pop, clean repop, and smooth landings, while opening up great drifting possibilities, especially on the lip.
In wing waveriding, it excels in onshore, multi-peak, or messy conditions: pivoting tight, hitting the lip, instantly repositioning, and dismantling sections.
In kite foiling, the smaller sizes offer a very high level of performance in freestyle/big air, while the larger ones maintain a lot of forgiveness.
The Ypra Surf-Freestyle V3 Atmo Pro Team Series is therefore the Pro Team wing for riders who want to pop, go high, repop hard, pivot tight, and unleash a radical surf-freestyle style.
Moderate ratio
The Ypra Surf-Freestyle features a moderate ratio of 6.8 to 7.6 depending on the sizes. This choice combines extreme manoeuvrability, control, early lift-off, solid lift, and enough speed to push hard.
The wing remains compact, quick to pivot, and easy to reposition in tricks. It is neither too elongated nor too slow to turn, which is essential for rotations, snaps, drifts, and short manoeuvres.
This ratio allows for intense charging without losing responsiveness. You maintain an explosive foil, stable in commitment, and capable of responding immediately underfoot.

Surf-freestyle outline
The compact outline allows for pivoting, snapping, turning on a dime, breaking lines, and instantly repositioning the foil.
The highly curved leading edge enhances manoeuvrability. It facilitates radical pivots, very tight direction changes, and creative lines in surf freestyle.
This geometry provides immediate response underfoot. The foil follows impulses without delay, whether for popping, snapping, tight turns, or re-engaging after a trick.

Pop and repop
The right trailing edge is one of the key elements of the pop. It leaves the water more decisively at the moment of take-off, enhancing the feeling of explosiveness in jumps.
The very forgiving profile maximises the quality of repops and optimises the foil's performance in wave turbulence or landings. You can land cleanly, relaunch immediately, and go into a new move.
The Ypra Surf-Freestyle is made for chaining: charge, pop, trick, land, repop. It's this short and explosive rhythm that defines its program.

Centred surface
The centred surface keeps the lift close to the supports. The foil remains compact, responsive, and easy to refoil after tricks.
This central lift maximises rail to rail, boosts lift at low speed, and provides exceptional pivot. The rider maintains a very present wing underfoot, without unnecessary inertia.
In rotations, trajectory changes, and short relaunches, this centred surface allows for control while maintaining high reactivity.
Almost flat anhedral
The anhedral is almost flat to maximize lift, optimize water exit, and make the foil very responsive and not dampened underfoot.
This geometry promotes a sharp pop, a clean repop, and smooth landings. The foil provides strong lift, exits quickly, and remains predictable during explosive phases.
It also enhances drifting possibilities, especially on the lip. The wing remains free, lively, and easy to recover in radical maneuvers.

Protective tips
The square, streamlined, and protective tips maintain excellent glide while providing useful stability during landings.
They allow for a responsive and explosive wing without falling into unstable behavior or being too fragile. The foil remains controllable.
This shape is suited for onshore waveriding, multipoint or choppy conditions, where you need to attack, react, reposition quickly, and pivot radically without seeking pure glide.

Buying guide
For whom?
The Ypra Surf-Freestyle V3 Atmo Pro Team Series is aimed at advanced to expert riders who want an explosive front wing for radical surf-freestyle in wing foiling and kite foiling.
It's designed for those who want to pop, go high, repop hard, throw rotations, grabs, airs, snaps, and creative maneuvers with a compact and highly responsive foil.
It also appeals to riders who want a very radical wing for wing waveriding in onshore, multi-peak, or choppy conditions, where you need to pivot sharply, hit the lip, and reposition quickly.
To avoid if…
The Ypra Surf-Freestyle is not a wing for cool gliding or long lines. If your goal is long freefly, gliding on swells, or surfing with long, fast carves, a Veloce or a Ypra Surf Fast would be more suitable.
It's not the best choice for pure surf foiling. It can work and regain that radical behavior, but its use remains marginal and not recommended: there are better options in the range for this program.
It's not intended for beginners. Its Pro Team level requires speed, commitment, a real understanding of the foil, and the desire to exploit a very explosive program.
For what?
The Ypra Surf-Freestyle is made for surf-freestyle in wing foiling: violent pop, powerful repop, rotations, airs, snaps, drifts, and explosive maneuvers.
In wing freestyle, it allows you to charge hard, arrive at full speed, pop, execute a big trick, land cleanly, repop, and chain with maximum precision.
In wing waveriding, it becomes a radical wing for windy, onshore, multi-peak, or choppy waves. It allows you to reposition the foil instantly, attack close sections, and maintain a very aggressive attitude in the surf.
In kite foiling, the smaller sizes offer very high performance in freestyle/big air. The larger sizes offer a lot of forgiveness, and the largest size can even accompany the first steps with a very stable wing and a limited wingspan that reduces tip outs.
What size?
The choice of size depends on the support, level, wind, style of tricks, lift requirement, and desired speed.
Choosing a larger size provides more lift, easier takeoff, more forgiveness in landings, and more margin at low speed. It's the logical choice for wing foiling in lighter wind, to secure repops, or for a more forgiving use.
Choosing an intermediate size gives the best balance between pop, speed, maneuverability, and control. It's often the most coherent choice to exploit the surf-freestyle program in wing foiling with a good level.
Choosing a smaller size frees up speed, rail to rail, and responsiveness. It's the choice for highly committed riders, very powerful conditions, but especially for kitefoil freestyle and big air.
If in doubt, choose larger for more lift and forgiveness. Choose smaller if your level, speed, and conditions allow you to charge hard and maintain control in fast phases.

Equipments
The front wing comes with all the necessary screws for mounting on the fuselage.
- 2 M6 x 25 mm screws for the V3 SuperLock connection.
- Stainless steel screws suitable for the foil's stresses and marine use.
- Simple assembly from underneath the front wing, with only two screws.
- Quick connection to install, rigid during navigation and easy to disassemble after the session.
Delivery
Is the Ypra Surf-Freestyle designed for pure surf foiling?
This is not its main program. It can work, especially in tow-in, and provide a radical feeling, but its use in pure surf foiling remains marginal and not recommended. For performance surf foiling, a Ypra Surf Carve or Surf Fast will be more suitable.
