FEEDBACK: NEUTRA / DROID LIGHT

- Wing
A lighter construction for greater riding comfort, well beyond light wind conditions.
Wing foiler: Martin, GONG staff, on the Cruzader Point LW FSP Pro, Neutra Light, HM85 mast and Veloce XL.
Lightness and stiffness
"I had the chance to test, and let others test, both a Neutra Light and a Droid Light. Here's what stood out:
They're incredibly light, even for those of us coming from the standard Aramid versions, and they're impressively stiff.
The finish is beautiful, they definitely don't feel like lightweight 'cheap' products.
On the water, the combination of stiffness and lightness brings gains across the board: waiting for gusts, pumping, tacks, jibes and jumps. Obviously in light wind, but also when the conditions get stronger. Even then, the profile stays perfectly locked in, you never miss the mini battens, and the trailing edge doesn't flap at all. To me, these are versatile wings, not just wings for light wind.
In surf, their light weight and excellent balance are once again huge advantages. They're like a feather following you around, you almost forget they're there!"
An optimized construction
"This simplified construction is also a real bonus when packing the wing away. No mini battens to deal with, and the bag ends up smaller and lighter than with our Aramid wings. Even on land, I see it as an advantage.
In short, I really like this 'less is more' philosophy.
As long as the lighter bladders prove just as durable, the only two things to keep in mind are inflating the leading edge and strut separately, and avoiding dragging the wing on the ground after your session.
In that case, I only see advantages with the Light models, and I'm ready to switch my whole quiver, or at least part of it, over to the Lights!" Thanks Pierre for sharing your feedback with the GONG Galaxy group.
