Takeoff, stability, and weight savings in 2025
“Took my new HIPE Diamond 5’10 out on the lake today in light wind conditions—around 6/7 knots with gusts up to 10/12 knots.
Rider weight: 78kg, equipped with the Curve XXL v2 and Droid 5.5.
Comparison with my HIPE Pro 5’3: Both boards have the same volume (105L), but the Diamond is much more stable, especially when floating in very light wind.
Takeoff also feels easier, probably thanks to the weight reduction (-2kg vs. HIPE Pro), which really helps with pumping.
You quickly get used to its narrower width.
Very happy with this board—next step is testing it on the ocean, especially in choppy conditions.”
