The high aspect ratio carbon Tail Wing that combines glide, speed build-up and manoeuvrability for dynamic pumping, slalom pumping, downwind and lowkite.

Overview

The Hyper Trail V3 Atmo Pro Team Series Tail Wing uses the proven shape of the previous Hyper Trail V3, now integrated into the adjustable V3 Atmo system.

Its 13.0 aspect ratio significantly reduces drag. The foil keeps its energy between pumps or bumps, accelerates easily and requires less effort to maintain speed.

Despite its wide span, its surface area being heavily concentrated at the centre gives it a smooth, natural rail-to-rail feel. It wraps around buoys, carves on bumps and surfs waves with a very glide-oriented feel.

Its relatively thick, low-camber profile keeps the exact amount of support needed at low speed to take off, build speed and find your cadence again, without holding back acceleration.

On bump descents, it promotes the foil's self-balancing behaviour. It generates very little nose-up as speed increases, allowing the foil to naturally drop into the slope and accelerate without overloading the front leg.

Paired with Hyper Trail, Supra Trail and Ultra Trail Front Wings, it tunes the foil's efficiency and responsiveness for slalom-oriented pumping, distance or downwind.

With a Veloce Front Wing, it creates an excellent combo for lowkite, downwind and wing foiling in light wind. It unlocks glide while keeping enough support for take-offs, transitions and speed build-up.

Built in CNC-machined monolithic T700 carbon, it precisely maintains its profile and tips under load.

The reference setup with a Medium Tail Shaft and 0° Tail Shim offers the best balance of glide, liveliness, longitudinal stability and speed build-up.

Who is it for? 

The Hyper Trail V3 Atmo Pro Team Series Tail Wing is aimed at advanced to expert riders who want to significantly increase their foil setup's glide and speed without giving up manoeuvrability.

It suits pumping riders who already have their cadence dialled in and are looking for stronger acceleration, crisp speed build-up and better efficiency.

It also speaks to downwind enthusiasts who want a gliding foil setup with light front foot pressure and enough manoeuvrability to carve on the bumps.

Paired with a Veloce Front Wing, it makes an excellent option for lowkite and wing foiling in light wind for riders looking for a fast, fluid foil with very little drag.

What for?

The Hyper Trail is designed for dynamic pumping, competitive pumping slalom and downwind.

For endurance pumping, it retains a lot of energy between pumps and lets you maintain a fast cadence with less drag.

In pumping slalom, its centred surface area provides a very clear pivot point to wrap around buoys and build speed again immediately.

In downwind, its low nose-up tendency lets the foil setup naturally follow the drops on the bumps. The foil accelerates without requiring constant pressure through the front leg.

Paired with a Veloce Front Wing, it excels in lowkite, freefly and wing foiling in light wind, with an excellent balance of glide, manoeuvrability and minimal front foot pressure.

Best avoided if…

The Hyper Trail is not a progression Tail Wing. To build solid pumping fundamentals with more support and forgiveness, choose a Trail.

To maximise long flat-water distances with already very clean technique, the Supra Trail will deliver better efficiency.

For absolute pumping records, the Ultra Trail will go further in drag reduction, with much higher demands.

For radical surf foiling, snaps and very tight carves, choose a Ypra Surf Carve or a more compact Tail Wing.

For very high-speed downwind racing, a Veloce XTR Lower will deliver more extreme efficiency and greater stability through long accelerations.

What size?

The choice depends on the Front Wing, rider weight, intended use and the level of support you're looking for.

A large Hyper Trail brings more presence at low speed, more pitch control and more support through take-offs and speed build-up. It does, however, generate more drag.

A smaller size frees up more speed and reduces front foot pressure. It requires better precision in slow phases and pitch variations.

For pumping and downwind, choose the smallest size you can control cleanly throughout the whole session, not just when the foil setup is already up to speed.

With a Veloce Front Wing in lowkite or wing foiling, keep enough surface area to secure take-offs and transitions without choking the front wing's glide. It is often said that going two sizes above the front wing is the perfect balance in towed disciplines while still keeping a 0° shim tail.


What setup?

The Hyper Trail is offered exclusively in Upper architecture.

It can be mounted on a Carbon Tail with its matching Upper wedge, or on an Upper Tail Shaft paired with an Upper Shim Tail.

It cannot be mounted on a Lower Tail Shaft or a Lower Shim Tail.

The reference setup uses a Medium Tail Shaft and a 0° Upper Shim Tail. It offers the best balance of glide, manoeuvrability, longitudinal stability and speed build-up.

What does the 0° shim tail mean?

The 0° Shim Tail keeps the reference incidence calculated for the Hyper Trail.

It does not mean that the Tail Wing is horizontal relative to the fuselage. The incidence required for the model to work is built into its carbon base.

The Shim Tail number only indicates the angle added or removed relative to that reference. The + means the shim tail raises the tail wing's leading edge, which reduces its incidence and effect: the tail wing sits flatter, delivering less front foot pressure and less lift. A negative number does the opposite: it lowers the tail wing's nose, increases its angle relative to the front wing and generates more lift and more front foot pressure. 

So 0° is always the best starting point before adjusting front foot pressure or the

foil setup's longitudinal behaviour.

Which angle should you choose?

Start with a 0° Upper Shim Tail.

A negative angle number adds front foot pressure and more presence through take-offs and slow phases. It also increases drag and can reduce the self-balancing effect sought in accelerations.

The -0.5° can correct a combo that is slightly lacking in support. More pronounced values should answer a specific need.

The +1° reduces front foot pressure and frees up glide even more. It does, however, make take-offs, transitions and cadence recovery more demanding.

Only change one parameter at a time so you can identify its effect precisely.

What tail shaft length?

The Medium Tail Shaft is the Hyper Trail's reference setup.

It offers the best balance of longitudinal stability, manoeuvrability, speed build-up and cadence control.

The Short Tail Shaft makes the foil setup more reactive, speeds up pitch response and tightens up the carves. It is particularly well suited to slalom, carves and very precise riders.

The Long Tail Shaft stabilises pitch more and makes movements more progressive. It can be interesting for downwind or long runs, but reduces the model's dynamic character.

A longer length does not directly increase glide. It mainly brings more stability and drive.

Which front wing?

The Hyper Trail Front Wing is the most natural pairing for dynamic pumping, slalom and flat-water carves.

With a Supra Trail, the Hyper Trail Tail Wing keeps the foil setup relatively manoeuvrable while increasing efficiency and distance.

With an Ultra Trail, it brings more presence, forgiveness and ease than a more extreme Tail Wing, at the cost of a little more drag.

With the Veloce FF, LW, DW or XTR Front Wings, it creates an excellent combo for lowkite, downwind and wing foiling in light wind. It frees up the front wing while keeping the minimum support needed at low speed.

In lowkite and wing foiling

Paired with a Veloce Front Wing, the Hyper Trail delivers a foil setup with excellent glide, but with more presence and manoeuvrability than with a downwind Lower Tail Wing. Consider oversizing the tail wing by two sizes above the front wing.

Its surface area concentrated in the centre makes rail-to-rail, transitions and line changes easier despite its very high aspect ratio.

Its low-camber profile generates little nose-up tendency in accelerations. The foil moves forward naturally, retains its energy through lulls and remains easy to let run.

This combo is particularly well suited to lowkite, where glide, upwind ability, transitions and freedom of line are essential.

How should you progress with tuning?

Start with a Medium Tail Shaft, a 0° Shim Tail and a size that matches your Front Wing.

Test this setup enough to understand the front foot pressure, natural cadence and behaviour in slow phases.

Then only change one element at a time between Tail Wing size, Tail Shaft length, Shim Tail incidence and foil position in the boxes.

Look for a foil setup that retains its energy without becoming unstable when speed drops. Drag reduction is only useful if you keep enough control to make the most of it.

Compatibility

The Hyper Trail Tail Wing is exclusively Upper.

It works with:

  • a compatible Carbon Tail and its matching Upper wedge;
  • a V3 Upper Tail Shaft and a V3 Upper Shim Tail;
  • a Micro V3 Atmo Upper Tail Shaft and a Micro V3 Atmo Upper Shim Tail.

The V3 and Micro V3 Atmo Tail Shafts and Shim Tails are not interchangeable on the fuselage side.

The Tail Wing remains compatible with both diameters thanks to its standard footprint. You must use the Tail Shaft and Shim Tail matched to the fuselage diameter.

It cannot be mounted on a Lower Tail Shaft, a Lower Shim Tail or a Lower wedge.



Equipments

Each pack comes with all the screws needed for assembly.

Tail Shaft:

  • 2 M6 x 25 mm T30 screws for the V3 SuperLock connection to the fuselage;
  • 1 screw for the Shim Tail connection from inside the Tail Shaft, with a length depending on the setup:
    • M6 x 50 mm T30 for sizes S and M
    • M6 x 100 mm T30 for size L

Shim Tail

  • 2 M6 x 14 mm T30 screws to fasten the Tail Wing to the Shim Tail;
  • 1 additional M6 x 12 mm T30 screw to replace the rear screw on the thinnest tail wings.

Delivery
