Overview

The Cruzader Squash keeps everything that defines its personality: the blend of a mid-length’s glide with the responsiveness of an almost compact board. A particularly effective combination for riders who want to get up early, carve and enjoy a versatile board for both wing and lowkite.

Its “aircraft carrier” concept remains at the heart of the shape. The deck offers plenty of room to find your stance naturally, especially under the back foot, while the hull stays very narrow. So you get a reassuring board on the water without sacrificing the magical glide of the Cruzader range.

On your knees or when the water gets choppy, this generous surface brings a huge amount of comfort. The recessed deck brings your feet closer to the foil for more direct pressure, while still keeping the support you need before take-off.

The Squash glides naturally and takes very little energy to build speed. It lets you take off early without having to oversize your wing, but above all it keeps that advantage across a very wide range of conditions. This efficiency also makes it possible to reduce foil area for more speed and sensation without making take-offs harder.

Once flying, its condensed format completely changes how the board feels. Very little bulk in front of your feet, a centred stance and plenty of freedom in your foot pressure: the Squash disappears beneath you and lets the foil do the work.

That’s what makes it so enjoyable in surf and freefly too. It rolls easily from rail to rail, follows carves naturally and keeps a fluid ride, whether you’re just looking to glide or push the pace harder.

This versatility makes it a true all-in-one: light wind, freeride, surf, freefly or lowkite, it can make the most of a huge range of conditions without needing a different board for every session.

The Hollow Full Carbon construction takes that feeling even further. With less inertia under your feet, the Squash reacts faster to foot pressure and feels even more discreet in flight. You keep its comfort and efficiency on the water, with a lighter, more direct feel as soon as the foil lifts off.

The Cruzader Squash remains that easy-going board with huge glide, but with even more connection and freedom once flying.

OUTLINE

The “aircraft carrier” outline provides plenty of usable surface area under your feet while keeping the hull deliberately very narrow. This slimness below the waterline reduces drag, helps the board accelerate naturally, and gives the Squash remarkable glide for an almost compact shape.

The wingers do exactly that, separating deck width from hull width: you keep comfort on your knees and plenty of room for your stance, without unnecessarily widening the part that works in the water.

ROCKER

The stretched rocker lets the Squash build speed naturally and maintain its glide all the way to take-off. It requires little effort when pumping and lets you ride with a smaller wing or a smaller foil.

The slight kicktail frees up the tail when the board is put on rail and reduces touchdowns in the waves. The result is a very smooth drive, just as efficient before take-off as it is enjoyable through carves.

HULL

The hull is all about glide, with a small flat area around the boxes and a very pronounced bow section. The Squash slices through the water efficiently, reduces drag and easily turns pumping into speed.

This bow shape also brings a lot of smoothness during water contact. The board carries through touchdowns without any abrupt braking and keeps its momentum to get back up on foil quickly.

TAIL

The generous squash tail provides plenty of support under the back foot. Its volume helps the board stay stable at low speed, makes pumping easier, and naturally brings the board back flat during take-offs.

The wingers then pull the tail in hard, while the slight kick reduces its bulk when the board is put on rail. Plenty of support on the water, but a tail that knows how to disappear in carves.

RAILS

The rails are very tucked and rounded from the centre through to the nose to keep the hull narrow and limit unwanted contact with the water. The Squash stays smooth when it hits chop or gets put on rail.

At the tail, the edges become sharper to release the water cleanly. This clean release promotes better glide and makes take-off easier, as well as getting back up after a touchdown.

NOSE

The fine point nose reduces bulk in front of your feet while keeping the responsiveness sought on the Squash.

Its nose bulb concentrates more volume closer to the rider to provide support where it is genuinely useful. The slightly more supportive surface under the front also helps the board handle touchdowns better and naturally recover its trim.

Recessed deck

The recessed deck brings your feet closer to the foil for greater connection, precision and control. This lower position improves the transfer of rider input whether riding strapped or strapless, while maintaining enough freedom to adjust your stance. The rider feels more locked in, closer to the foil and benefits from a more direct feel through every maneuver.

Volume distributed from nose to tail

The lowered deck is combined with added volume at the front and rear to maintain support around the rider. The maximum nose volume is positioned closer to the stance to provide better support during take-off, acceleration and water contact. At the rear, the volume follows the same principle, creating a natural continuity in the shape from nose to tail.

Drain Plug

The drain plug has been specially designed to make operation safer and easier. Its shape allows it to lock directly into the board to ensure a watertight seal while riding, with a 90° twist-lock closure. When opening, the system passes through an intermediate position before fully releasing the plug. This maximizes airflow between sessions and also allows any water to drain out in the event of infiltration before repair.

Team Series Graphic Signature

The Team Series range shares an instantly recognizable visual identity built around a textured Frozen White finish that adds depth to the surface and creates an almost crystallized appearance depending on the light.

This light base is paired with a tail color specific to each shape, giving every board its own personality while maintaining a strong visual consistency across the range. The contrast between the Frozen White and the tail colors highlights the board’s lines and reinforces its identity without overloading the design.

Footstrap Inserts

The new footstrap inserts improve both adjustability and support. At the rear, the two-screw mounting system offers 5 positions for precise foot placement while limiting strap rotation under heavy loads. At the front, 3 positions allow you to fine-tune your stance, with double side inserts positioned diagonally to improve stability and keep the strap perfectly in place during the most committed riding.

Luxe Footstraps

The new boards come equipped with a set of V-shaped Luxe Footstraps, chosen by our Team for their comfort and precision. Adjustable with Velcro, they provide fine, tool-free adjustment, both on land and while riding, allowing you to quickly adapt the fit to your foot and riding style.

Each footstrap combines:

An adjustable internal structure with semi-rigid reinforcement to provide effective support around the arch of the foot.
A lined neoprene cover for lasting comfort and softness during long sessions.

Their three-hole baseplate allows for one- or two-screw mounting. Combined with the double inserts, the two-screw setup provides a more secure fit and limits strap rotation under heavy loads, keeping your footing more stable and precise during committed maneuvers.

Ridge Traction Pad

With its perfect grip and 5 mm thickness, the new Ridge Traction Pad delivers outstanding comfort and traction. Your footing is completely secure, giving you surgical precision and control.

Contact with the board is firm and direct for precise foil control, while retaining the cushioning of a 5 mm pad.

The pad is also bonded directly to the board’s epoxy surface. This creates an extremely reliable bond between the pad and the board, significantly reducing the risk of delamination over time and keeping your footing secure for the long term. The result: a grip that stays perfectly in place, total confidence underfoot and significantly improved durability.

Optimized carry handle

An optimized carry handle is positioned at the board’s balance point with the foil mounted. It makes carrying the board and getting into the water easier, providing a natural and comfortable grip.

Who is it for?

The Cruzader Squash is designed for intermediate to experienced riders, right through to very advanced lowkite riders.

It offers an excellent combination of easy take-off, comfort and surf, in a board that stays relatively compact and very easy to understand. Its generous deck plan inspires confidence on your knees and in chop, while its narrow hull delivers all the glide you expect from a Cruzader.

With its squash tail, it keeps plenty of stability at rest and requires little energy in the phases before take-off. It is an excellent option for those who want a major boost in efficiency without moving to a board that is too technical or too bulky.

In wing as in lowkite, it is perfectly suited to riders who want to take off early, ride with less power in the wing or use smaller foils, while keeping a board that is genuinely enjoyable to surf.

What for?

Its range is broad:

Light wind: loads of glide to take off early without having to oversheet.
Surf, surf, surf: a very free-feeling board underfoot that naturally follows your carves.

The Squash is capable of taking off very early without requiring much effort. It is stable, glides naturally and uses very little energy before take-off.

It also keeps plenty of qualities when the conditions pick up. Surf, freefly, freeride or mellow freestyle with 360s, Palaus and other accessible manoeuvres: it can do almost everything without making the session more complicated.

What board size?

Which foil?

The Cruzader Squash works particularly well with foils that combine glide, manoeuvrability and efficiency. The Curve will favour control, the Fluid liveliness, while the different Veloce models will progressively push glide, downwind performance and speed further.

The Curve V3 ATMO: the manoeuvrability and control combo.
Its lift and very forgiving behaviour perfectly complement the Squash’s ease of use. It lets you carve with plenty of control and keeps the foil reassuring when conditions become uneven.

The Fluid V3 ATMO: the manoeuvrability and speed combo.
More lively and more playful, it lets you turn tight, accelerate and quickly link rail-to-rail transitions. An excellent match to make the most of the Squash’s surf character.

The Veloce V3 ATMO: the glide, speed and big carves combo.
Its efficiency helps maintain plenty of speed and naturally extend freefly phases. It is perfectly suited to a Squash used for fast freeride, drawn-out surf and long glides.

The Veloce Free Fly V3 ATMO: loads of glide with freedom.
It holds its energy very well while staying mobile enough to carve and connect bumps. A very natural pairing with the Squash in freefly as well as in lowkite.

The Veloce Light Wind V3 ATMO: to make the most of light wind.
Its lift and efficiency let you take off early and then stay flying with little energy. Paired with the Squash’s glide, it lets you make the most of small conditions without losing the playful side once up and running.

The Sirus V3 ATMO: to maximise the low end.
Its strong lift and glide let you get going in very little wind and easily maintain flight at low speed. It is the choice for making the most of light wind in wing as well as in lowkite.

The Veloce DW: the downwind lowkite specialist.
It is a particularly interesting pairing with the Squash for heading out on long distances in the swell. The board’s responsiveness combined with the Veloce DW’s glide lets you connect bumps with little effort, while keeping the surf fast and very fluid. You get a setup that can glide for a long time without becoming heavy to handle.

The Veloce XTR: to start pushing speed in downwind.
Still in lowkite, it is aimed at riders who want to go after more speed in their runs. It keeps the efficiency needed to connect bumps, while allowing you to progressively raise the pace and top speeds when conditions allow.

Which stab / tail wing?

The choice of stab / tail wing can quite clearly transform the foil’s character under a Cruzader Squash. This is especially interesting on such a versatile board: you can keep the same platform and the same front wing, then tune the setup more towards surf, freeride, light wind or downwind simply by evolving the back end of the foil.

Ideally, we recommend starting with a tail wing that matches the front wing’s programme, then adjusting according to the feel you are looking for.

The Curve: control and ease.
It brings solid support, stability and very readable handling. It is the choice for keeping a reassuring foil that is easy to trim and comfortable in chop or in freeride.

The Fluid: manoeuvrability and responsiveness.
It frees up the foil more in rail-to-rail transitions and makes short carves easier. A good option to reinforce the Squash’s surf character and get a more playful setup in freefly.

The Veloce: glide and speed.
It prioritises speed retention and longer lines. It is a perfect match for a Squash used in freefly, fast freeride or lowkite when you want to keep a fluid, high-performance foil.

The Veloce DW: to maximise glide in downwind.
Paired with a Veloce DW, it pushes the setup’s efficiency even further. The foil holds its energy better between bumps and requires less effort to keep the connections going. It is the natural setup for covering long distances in lowkite with maximum fluidity.

The whole point of this tail wing range is precisely being able to easily change the foil’s behaviour depending on the day’s programme. A more stable setup for freeride, a looser tail wing for surf, then a more gliding configuration for downwind: the Squash really lets you make the most of this modularity.

The Tail Shaft V3 ATMO adds another level of tuning:

Short: more manoeuvrable and playful, for surf and quick direction changes.
Medium: the all-round compromise between stability, glide and manoeuvrability.
Long: more settled and more stable, particularly interesting for glide, pumping and downwind.

Tail wing size then lets you fine-tune the feel:

Larger: more support, drive and stability. The foil is easier to trim and more reassuring at low speed.
Smaller: less support but more freedom, liveliness and acceleration. In return, the foil requires more precision.

On the Squash, this modularity really comes into its own: the same foil can go from a very mobile surf setup to a highly gliding downwind setup simply by evolving the back end.

Equipments

These boards are equipped with 2 GONG US Box Double Entry tracks compatible with standard 4-bolt plate foils and the SCS system with 9 cm spacing, Luxe footstraps with multi-position anti-twist inserts, a Ridge Traction Pad, an integrated carry handle, a leash plug, an automatic pressure relief screw and a high-flow drainage valve.

The Double Entry system allows very fast mounting of GONG foils while remaining compatible with standard square nut setups. The SCS is not supplied with the board.

Who is the Cruzader Squash for?

The Cruzader Squash is aimed primarily at intermediate to experienced riders looking for more glide and easier take-off without moving to a long or overly technical board.

Its generous deck area and squash tail bring plenty of comfort on your knees and at low speed. It lets you benefit from the efficiency of a mid-length while keeping a feel that stays close to a more compact board.

Why choose a Cruzader Squash?

Because it combines the glide of a mid-length with the comfort and responsiveness of an almost compact board. Its very narrow hull accelerates easily before take-off, while its generous deck provides real usable surface area under your feet.

It’s an excellent all-in-one for anyone who wants to do freeride, surf, freefly, light wind and lowkite on the same board.

Is the Cruzader Squash really efficient in light wind?

Yes. Its narrow hull, stretched rocker and ability to maintain speed let you take off early with very little effort. It requires less pumping than a more compact board and lets you ride with a smaller wing when conditions are light.

This efficiency also makes it possible to use a smaller foil without systematically losing ease on take-off.

Does the Squash still feel good when the wind picks up?

Yes. Its appeal is not limited to light wind. Once flying, its near-compact format, wingers and low bulk let you keep a very natural feel in surf, freefly and freeride.

That makes it particularly interesting for sessions where the conditions are changing and you want to avoid switching boards as soon as the wind picks up.

What’s the difference between the Cruzader Squash and a classic downwind board?

The Squash takes the glide-focused design of a downwind board and packs it into a much more condensed format. Its "aircraft carrier" concept keeps the hull very narrow while providing more usable surface area under your feet.

You get excellent efficiency before take-off, with more comfort on your knees, less bulk in flight and plenty of freedom in your carves.

Is it suitable for lowkite and downwind?

Yes, especially. Its glide makes it easy to build speed with very little power, while its stability brings comfort during the pre-flight phases.

For lowkite downwind, the Squash's responsiveness pairs really well with foils that have excellent glide, like the Veloce DW, to link bumps smoothly over long distances. If you're starting to look for more speed in this programme, a Veloce XTR will let you push the pace further.

Can you really surf with a board that has this much glide?

Yes, that’s precisely one of the big advantages of its shape. The wingers, the fine point nose, the slight kicktail and the tucked rails keep bulk to a minimum when the board is put on rail.

So it keeps its efficiency before take-off, then becomes much more discreet once flying. It’s particularly enjoyable for carving, freeflying and surfing the swell.

Can you ride the Cruzader Squash with or without straps?

Yes. Its generous deck works very well strapless, with enough room to move your feet around and adjust your stance through carves or in lowkite.

With straps, the different adjustment options let you tune the stance for a more surf-oriented or more freeride feel. In both cases, the recessed deck brings your feet closer to the foil for more direct feedback.
