Hollow Hybrid Carbon SCC®: A Different Balance of Hollow Feel
Hollow Hybrid Carbon SCC® uses exactly the same structural principle as Hollow Full Carbon: a hollow, molded construction made of two half-shells joined to a true internal skeleton.
Its construction is based on a true composite sandwich. From the inside out, each shell combines an inner 6 oz 3K carbon skin, a PVC core, a second 6 oz 3K carbon skin, and an outer layer of 6 oz 3K fiberglass that wraps the entire board.
The construction therefore comprises 80% carbon fiber and 20% fiberglass. Carbon remains by far the primary fiber, providing most of the stiffness and load transfer, while the outer fiberglass layer contributes to the more progressive response this technology is designed to deliver.
The Hybrid also uses 6 oz 3K carbon, which is more forgiving than the high-modulus carbon used in Full Carbon. This combination maintains very high stiffness, excellent precision, and high performance, while offering a slightly more progressive mechanical response.
The goal is therefore not to reduce performance, but to create a different balance of stiffness, light weight, strength, forgiveness, and price.
