About

Born in Cyprus and raised in Akyaka, Turkey, Yücel has been immersed in kiteboarding for as long as he can remember, building his entire life around the sport and the ocean. Growing up in one of the world’s most iconic wind spots shaped his natural connection to high-wind conditions and performance riding.

He was inspired to join the GONG team by its passionate approach, clear vision, and strong drive to constantly push for excellence. Yücel’s strength lies in his intense focus, allowing him to fully lock into the moment with complete mental clarity during high-performance and extreme riding. Most proud of never giving up on his path and always believing in his long-term vision, he is excited to continue trusting the process and progressing step by step toward his goals.
