Selecting the right surfboard bag depends on several key factors:

• Construction & Padding: If you're planning major surf trips where your board is at risk, opt for a padded bag for extra protection.
• Outline & Shape: Choose a bag that closely matches your board's shape and dimensions.
• Size: Always pick a bag equal to or slightly larger than your board.

For travel, a slightly larger bag is better, as it allows you to add extra padding (e.g., wetsuit or poncho) around the nose and tail, which are the most vulnerable areas. However, a bag that’s too large may offer poor protection if the board moves inside. Your board should fit snugly, with its nose and tail properly aligned with the bag’s reinforced areas.

This is the essential bag to limit small shocks, friction, and sun exposure. It’s very practical for protecting your car seats from wax, water, or salt.

It can also be used as an extra layer of protection inside another bag to reinforce your board’s safety when traveling by plane.

If you're planning bigger, riskier trips, consider also equipping yourself with a padded bag, such as the GONG DAYBAG or GONG LUXE BAG.

This is the ideal bag to protect your board for everyday trips, such as from home to the beach. It features a 5mm protective foam to shield your board from small transport bumps. It also provides excellent protection against the sun.

All covers feature a grey thermally-insulated, water-repellent plastic interior lining, along with foam padding (5 to 10mm) to protect your board from heat and impacts.

The FLEXI HEX system
Starting your vacation with a damaged board after air travel is a nightmare, but it’s easily avoided!
To prevent this unpleasant surprise when you arrive, we highly recommend protecting your board with Flexi-Hex, which we use for all our rigid board deliveries.
The Flexi-Hex protects everything: the rails, deck, nose, and tail with its honeycomb geometry that forms a 30mm protective layer. This packaging adapts to all shapes and sizes of boards and can be folded down to take up no space during your vacation.
Simply slide the board into a Flexi-Hex, then into a good boardbag, and you’re good to go!
In addition to being reusable and fully recyclable, it’s the proven system we use every day to ship our boards worldwide.

Jammed with sand, oxidized by salt and humidity, zippers are the main cause of trouble for the precious protection of your board.

To extend its durability, we recommend that you rinse the zip very regularly with clear water, even if they are equipped with a solid salt-resistant zip. A care we also recommended for the zip of your wetsuit.

You can also apply Zip Care to the zippers of your board bags and wetsuits. The must have maintenance product for plastic and metal zippers. A unique brush applicator allows the product to be applied between the teeth of the zipper and physically remove dirt, salt residue and dust that may block them.
