Early takeoff, endless glide, surprising maneuverability: discover the Veloce Freefly and Lightwind.
Wing foiler: Malo Guénolé, GONG team rider, riding the Atmo Veloce Light wind with a Neutra Light wing.
30 foils later, still impressed
“Have been out on my new Veloce Atmo foils now: REALLY amazing! I have had over 30 different GONG foils over the years so lots of experience. Only change my foil quiver when I see something that could fit better.
Got the Veloce Atmo FreeFly M 890 cm² AR 10.6 and the Veloce Atmo LW L 1050 cm² AR 12.7 with a more lifty profile.”
Veloce Free Fly: more lift, effortless turns
“The 890 cm² is a lot easier to ride than other/earlier 900 cm² foils, lifts more than its size, but still turns on a dime despite being 97 cm in span, because of its narrow tips.
It can be pumped on foil easier than earlier Veloces, I think the LE front has a tad more curve, in order to do this, but it is still fast.
I bought another 85 cm HM mast, so I have a 14 and 15 mm and can have the above two setups rigged on the beach on boards, instead of having to screw and switch when wind changes. It is a luxury thing but works brilliantly, so I only have to tighten the 4 screws on the SCS (T-Nuts with carbon rods) when coming to a spot, and loosen them when packing down, and keep foils assembled in the car. 👌”
Veloce Light Wind: early takeoff, endless glide
“I was ready to be disappointed with the LW agility as it has a span of 115 cm, so maybe not easy to steer and impossible to turn. I was REALLY happy with how easy it was. Of course the stiffer 15 mm mast and the titanium fuselages would help, but also the narrow tips. It can be pumped onto foil crazy early and simply glides forever on tiny wind chops. Easy to jibe too, which was a good surprise for me. 😃
Keeping my Fluid H for a while, to see if I would prefer its turning speed when out in bigger waves, and also have a really big lower aspect (8.4) CurveH for light wind and easy turning. Maybe all 4 will not be needed in the long run (or maybe they will, we will see). Been out 10 times in total with these new foils, I’m impressed until now with those two full setups. 👍”
