Programme

A refined longboard for hollow waves, the Zero delivers the hold and technical precision needed to commit with confidence on steep faces.

Overview

The Zero is the longboard for waves you have to earn, the ones that stand up, hollow out and demand a board that stays precise when everything starts accelerating.

Its purpose is clear: get in early, set up deep, drop into the face with confidence and hold a clean line at high speed. You keep the strengths of a longboard without suffering from its length in critical sections.

It’s a board for surfers who enjoy serious conditions. Not just big waves, but above all fast, vertical, technical waves where timing and foot pressure make all the difference.

In the pocket, the Zero brings that essential feeling: the board stays composed. It channels speed, holds its line and makes you want to push harder, with more control.

This is not a cruising longboard or a board made for hanging out on the nose. Its pleasure lies elsewhere: drawing lines, dropping fast, locking into hollow faces and laying down solid carves with control.

It still retains the paddling, early wave entry and range that define a longboard. Once up and running, its feel becomes sharper, more direct and more biting.

It’s also a board that helps you progress in commitment. It rewards experience, pushes you to read further ahead, choose better lines and surf with more technical precision.

The Zero is aimed at riders who want to charge vertical walls with confidence. A precise, composed and committed board, built to keep pushing a little further.

Shape
OUTLINE

The Zero's outline is designed for hollow, fast waves. More refined than a classic longboard, it reduces bulk, improves precision and lets you hold a clean line when the wave starts to accelerate.

The refined round nose keeps things comfortable when paddling while limiting front-end catch on vertical faces. The responsive tail lets you reposition the board quickly and commit to tighter lines.

ROCKER

The rocker is consistent and pronounced, giving you more margin in steep waves. It limits pearling on take-off and lets you commit more confidently in hollow sections.

This curve also brings control at high speed. The board stays composed, sits better in the face, and lets you hold a precise line when your turns get more committed.

BOTTOM

The bottom shape combines a flat entry with spoon, a fast flat section through the middle, then a double concave V from the fins through to the tail. It delivers speed, smoothness and precision underfoot.

The spoon helps manage entries into the pocket, the flat centre section maintains efficiency, and the double concave V makes rail-to-rail transitions easier while keeping control under the back foot.

TAIL

The baby diamond tail brings responsiveness to a longboard built for powerful waves. Its compact surface gives clean support under the back foot without locking up the ride.

It lets you build speed quickly, change angle with precision and lay down solid carves while maintaining good hold through fast sections.

RAILS

The rails are sharp through the tail to deliver grip, hold and control in fast carves. They let you commit to your turns without losing your line.

Towards the nose, the rails become rounder to keep a progressive feel, comfortable paddling and a softer contact with the water during positioning phases.

Single Tab connection: simple, direct and solid

The Single Tab system features a single, extended base on each fin. This design creates a solid connection with the fin box, making installation simple, fin changes quick, and power transfer exceptionally direct.

On the water, the benefits are immediate. The board responds instantly, the fins work without unwanted play, and every input translates into drive, grip and control. This is especially valuable on high performance boards, where precise feedback is essential at high speeds and through committed turns.

The Single Tab system also makes it easy to fine tune your setup for different conditions. Changing fin size, template or flex lets you refine the board's feel in just a few moments. It provides a clean, durable and efficient connection, allowing you to unlock the full potential of the shape.

Good to know: Single Tab fin boxes are only compatible with Single Tab fins.

Key benefits:

  • Simple installation and quick fin changes.
  • Direct connection for immediate response underfoot.
  • Excellent drive, grip and control through powerful turns.

Buying guide

Who is it for?

For surfers looking for a technical, committed longboard, capable of taking on hollow, fast and powerful waves with confidence.

The Zero is aimed at longboarders who enjoy serious conditions: steep faces, committed take-offs, fast sections, drawn-out lines and solid rail pressure.

It is not the ideal choice for cruising casually or hanging out on the nose. Its programme is sharper: get in early, commit, hold a clean line and surf with precision as the speed builds.

What is it for?

The Zero is built to charge hollow waves on a longboard, without suffering from the board’s length. It lets you paddle fast, get into position early, drop into the face with confidence and keep composed handling through critical sections.

Its real strength is bringing technical performance to committed conditions. It helps you read the wave, choose a line, stay in control and push harder through your turns as the wave accelerates.

It keeps the advantages of a longboard: paddling speed, early wave entry and range. But its feel is more precise, more biting and better suited to fast waves than a classic longboard.

What board size?

The Zero comes in 9’1, with several widths from 56.5 cm to 59.5 cm and volumes from 64L to 72L. This range lets you fine-tune precision, stability and paddling to match your size and how hard you want to push it.

Choose the lower volumes if you are looking for maximum control, radical performance and a more direct feel underfoot in fast waves.

The mid-range volumes offer the best balance between paddling, hold, comfort and precision. It is the most consistent choice for making the most of the board’s programme in solid conditions without making it too demanding.

The higher volumes bring more paddling comfort, more stability and more margin on take-off, especially for bigger riders or powerful waves that require early positioning.

What are the ideal waves?

Size: from waist-high to double overhead and beyond, depending on your level, the spot and how hard you want to charge.

Power: it performs best in waves with push, hollow faces, fast sections and solid swell.

Shape: it prefers clean, well-shaped and fast waves, where you can draw a line, lock into the face and commit to powerful carves.

It can handle a range of conditions, but its true value shows when the wave demands positioning, control and a board that stays precise at high speed.

What fin setup?

The Zero is designed as a 2+1, with a central US box and two Single Tab side fins. This setup delivers the hold, drive and precision needed in powerful waves.

Moving the centre fin forward makes the board looser and easier to reposition. Moving it back gives you more line hold, more stability and more control in fast lines.

The Single Tab side fins add grip and response under the back foot. They let you push harder through your turns and keep solid support when everything speeds up.

For hollow, fast waves, go for a setup that brings hold. For less powerful conditions or a looser surf style, a more forward setting will free up the board more.

Which shape should you choose?

Choose the Zero if you want a longboard sharpened for hollow waves, built to charge steep faces, hold fast lines and bring more confidence in committed conditions.

Choose the Moodgun if you are looking for an even more gun-oriented programme, with more length available for serious waves and highly committed lines.

Choose the Moodrive or the Hyperdrive if you want a performance longboard with more focus on competition, speed build-up, radical manoeuvres and fuller use from nose to tail.

If your priority is pure noseriding, small waves or easy glide, a more buoyant model will make more sense. The Zero is built for riders who want to charge, draw lines and progress technically in powerful waves.

Equipments

These boards come equipped with a leash plug, a central US Box fin box and 2 Single Tab side fin boxes for a single or 2+1 setup.

Depending on what you want, your build, the conditions and your surfing style, you can fine-tune the board’s feel with different GONG fibreglass fins compatible with US Box and Single Tab.

The single setup uses only the centre fin. The 2+1 setup adds two side fins.

  • GONG fibreglass US Box centre fin included.
  • Set of GONG plastic Single Tab side fins included.
  • 1 central US Box fin box + 2 Single Tab side fin boxes for a single or 2+1 setup.

Frequent questions
Who is the Zero for?

The Zero is aimed at surfers looking for a technical, precise and committed longboard for hollow, fast and powerful waves. It is built for those who want to charge with confidence while keeping the advantages of a longboard.

What kind of waves does it perform best in?

It performs best in clean, fast, hollow or vertical waves, from waist-high to double overhead and beyond depending on your level. It really comes into its own as soon as the wave demands positioning, hold and committed rail pressure.

Is it made for noseriding?

That’s not its primary purpose. The Zero can let you walk to the nose when the section allows it, but its DNA lies elsewhere: drawing lines, holding a fast line, locking into hollow faces and staying in control when the speed picks up.

Why choose the Zero over a classic longboard?

Because a classic longboard can become cumbersome in fast, vertical waves. The Zero keeps the paddling and wave entry of a longboard, but with a sharper, more precise feel that’s better suited to committed conditions.

Is the Zero difficult to surf?

It demands solid foot pressure and real wave reading, as it is designed for more technical conditions. In return, it delivers a composed, predictable and confidence-inspiring ride that helps you commit harder without getting overtaken by the board.

Which size should you choose in Zero?

The Zero is available in 9’1, with widths from 56.5 cm to 59.5 cm and volumes from 64L to 72L. Lower volumes maximise precision. Mid-range volumes offer the best balance. Higher volumes bring more paddle power, stability and comfort on take-off.

Which fin setup should you use?

The Zero is designed as a 2+1, with a central US box and two Single Tab side fins. Moving the centre fin back gives you more hold and control in fast lines. Moving it forward makes the board looser. The side fins add drive, grip and precision through the tail.

What’s the difference between the Zero and the Moodgun?

The Zero is a performance longboard for hollow waves, with a technical, precise and committed approach. The Moodgun pushes even further into the gunny mindset, with a programme more geared towards solid waves and highly committed lines.
