Evelin Neves confirms she is a force to be reckoned with on the Brazilian circuit

Baía Formosa (Brazil) - The 2026 Brazilian Longboard Championship introduced a new format, with three consecutive events held at the same venue in Baía Formosa, Rio Grande do Norte.

A challenging campaign for Evelin!

Among the competitors, Evelin Neves, GONG team rider, came away from the event with plenty of valuable lessons. In sometimes difficult conditions, with limited wave opportunities during the opening event, the Brazilian was unable to convince the judges despite heats she felt were solid.

She bounced back perfectly in the second event, securing an impressive third-place finish. Matched against the eventual winner, Evelin came within touching distance of victory in a highly contested heat.

The third event was marked by an interference call that compromised her chances of progressing further. A frustrating setback, but one that does not overshadow her overall performance throughout the championship.

Beyond the results, what Evelin takes away most is her progression in the water. Over the past few months, she has noticed a clear evolution in her surfing and a growing confidence in her decision-making.

“Regardless of the results, I can feel my surfing continuing to improve. With the Deano, I've reached another level, and it motivates me to train even harder.” Evelin Neves

More comfortable than ever on her Deano

She attributes much of this progression to her GONG Deano, a board she believes has helped her reach a new level. Feeling more comfortable and performing better than ever, the Brazilian continues her development with enthusiasm and determination.

In a highly competitive national championship, this campaign confirms one thing: Evelin Neves continues to raise her level and establish herself as one of the riders to watch on the Brazilian surf scene.
