Our team rider scores a solid swell at his famous home spot!

The anticipation was building for our team rider as the swell approached Tahiti. Even when you know your home spot like the back of your hand, you can never be sure if the promise of the forecast, the buoy readings, and the early-morning flag direction will come together to create the kind of perfect day you've been envisioning since the first pulse of the swell showed up.

The photos he sent us from this session clearly show that the conditions lived up to expectations for Mateia, who managed to score some bombs—first on his Chemical EPS 5'10, then switching to a 6'5 step-up, also a Chemical, with custom dimensions tailored for epic days like this one.
