Our team rider Deury Corniel breaks down the real differences.

Big air, loops, freestyle, surf, foil… the Vertigo platform blends power, drift, speed, and control in a compact Hybrid-C design that adapts to many riding styles.

Today, this platform comes in three constructions that share the same DNA but deliver different sensations and performance on the water.

  • The Vertigo is the original version built in Dacron: strong, accessible, predictable, and extremely versatile.
  • The Vertigo Aramid pushes performance further with a lighter and stiffer structure. The Aramid frame reduces deformation, improves reactivity, and gives the kite a more direct, energetic feel.
  • The Vertigo Aramid DP goes even further with additional aerodynamic and structural refinements. It features Aramid construction, LDS tips, and a double profile (double skin) on the lower surface of the kite, which reduces turbulence, improves airflow, and increases speed and efficiency in the wind window.

On paper, the technical differences are clear. But what really matters is how these choices translate into real sensations while riding.

We asked our team rider Deury, to share his experience on the water.

1. When switching between the Vertigo, Vertigo Aramid, and Vertigo Aramid DP, what is the first difference you feel on the water?

The first thing I notice is how each kite delivers power and moves through the window when I am performing any trick, jump or freerinding.

The standard Vertigo feels very smooth, forgiving, and predictable. The power builds progressively, and the kite stays stable, which makes it easy to control in all situations.

With the Vertigo Aramid, the kite feels lighter and more reactive. You get a more direct feeling at the bar, and the response is quicker, especially when riding powered or pushing harder.

The Vertigo Aramid DP stands out with its speed and efficiency. It accelerates more cleanly through the window, giving a more dynamic feeling with faster movement and more vertical lift.

2. How would you describe the difference in feeling between a Dacron structure and an Aramid structure when riding powered?

When riding powered, the difference is mainly in how the kite holds its shape and delivers power.

With Dacron, the feeling is slightly softer and more progressive. The kite absorbs gusts better, which makes it comfortable and easy to manage, especially in changing conditions.

With Aramid, everything feels tighter and more stable. The kite keeps its shape when you load against it, reacts faster to input, and gives a more direct and explosive release of power, especially when you go for a jump or a trick.

3. Do you notice a difference in the kite’s speed through the wind window between the three versions? In which situations does it matter the most?

Yes, the difference in speed is very noticeable, especially when riding powered.

The Aramid versions move faster through the window, which helps generate more apparent wind and gives a more dynamic feeling.

With the DP version, that speed is even more pronounced. It accelerates very cleanly, and you really feel it during loops, transitions, and big air. That extra speed makes a big difference when you need the kite to move quickly and recover fast.

4. When going for pure freestyle, how do the three kites compare in terms of takeoff power, hangtime, and control during landing?

For freestyle, each version has its own character.

The Vertigo feels very balanced and easy to control. It gives a clean takeoff and stable airtime, which helps with consistency and landing control.

The Aramid version brings a more explosive lift. The response is quicker, so the takeoff feels stronger and more direct, which is important when you’re loading hard.

The DP version feels more efficient in the air. It climbs well and gives a longer glide, and it also repositions faster, which helps a lot for controlled landings.

5. How do the three versions behave during kite loops? Is there a difference in loop speed, power delivery, or recovery after the loop?

The differences are clear, especially when you start looping in stronger conditions.

The standard Vertigo delivers smooth and progressive loops. It’s predictable and easy to control, which is good for building confidence.

The Aramid versions feel faster and more reactive. The kite accelerates more during the loop and gives a more direct pull, which allows you to push a bit further.

With the DP version, the loop is faster and more efficient. The kite comes around quicker and climbs back up earlier, which gives a cleaner recovery and more control after the loop.

6. The Vertigo Aramid DP introduces a double profile. What does this bring in terms of feeling and performance on the water?

The double profile mainly improves how cleanly the kite moves through the air.

You feel less drag and a smoother pull, especially when riding powered. The kite accelerates better in the window, which gives more speed and a more efficient lift.

In the air, it translates into better glide and a more controlled traction during movements like loops or powered tricks.

7. The DP version also features LDS tips. What do they change in the turning behavior of the kite?

The LDS tips make the steering feel more precise and reactive.

The input you give at the bar is transmitted more directly to the kite, so the turns feel tighter and more controlled. You can steer more aggressively without losing stability.

It also helps the kite accelerate more smoothly when you redirect it, which is important in dynamic situations.

8. How do the three kites compare for wake style riding, especially when loading the edge and looking for pop or line slack?

For wakestyle, the differences come mainly from how the kite reacts when you load and release.

The Vertigo feels stable and forgiving, which is good for progression and consistency.

The Aramid version gives a more explosive pop. Because the kite holds its shape better, you can load harder and get a stronger release.

With the faster movement you also get a cleaner slack after the pop, which helps for technical tricks.

9. Which version would you personally choose for big air, loops, freestyle, or wave riding, and why?

It really depends on the discipline and what you’re looking for.

The Vertigo is the most versatile. It works well across different styles and is very accessible.

The Aramid version is a good choice when you want more responsiveness and a more dynamic feeling, especially for freestyle and powered riding.

For big air and loops, I would go with the DP version. The speed, efficiency, and fast recovery give you more confidence when pushing your limits to the next level.

10. If you had to recommend each version of the Vertigo to a specific type of rider, who would it be for?

The Vertigo is ideal for riders who want a reliable, versatile kite that works in many different conditions and disciplines.

The Aramid version suits riders who are looking for more responsiveness and performance, and who want to push their riding further.

The Aramid DP is for riders who want maximum performance. It’s best suited for experienced riders who are focused on speed, big air, loops, and riding fully powered.
