More glide and drive while pumping
“Tested the Hypertrail 98 cm² stab (Veloce XL, Carbon Tail M, Xiggy 6'7, Lowkite Plus V2 3m).
I wanted to try this stab with a clear goal in mind: gain more glide, more drive while pumping, and better comfort in the bumps, especially for a parawing-oriented downwind setup.
👉 What I was looking for:
- Glide: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Pumping drive: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Flow through the bumps: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Ease of pumping: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
👉 My first impressions:
From the very first minutes, you can feel a real difference. The glide is impressive, it just keeps flying effortlessly.
When pumping, the stab gives back a lot of energy, with excellent forward drive that makes linking sections super easy.
In the bumps, it’s pure fun: smooth glide, great speed retention, and seamless connections from one section to the next.
I’d almost compare it to the HDW… that’s how much glide and forward projection it delivers, while still keeping the maneuverability of my Veloce XL.”
Pumping, maneuverability, and ease of use?
“As for pumping, it’s efficient and surprisingly easy. It feels stable and never stalls at low speed.
My back leg doesn’t burn at all, such a comfortable ride…
In terms of maneuverability, it’s super playful despite the high aspect ratio of nearly 14. It turns efficiently and, most importantly, it’s incredibly forgiving.
Looking at the shape, you might expect it to be overly technical or demanding… but not at all.
It’s pure plug-and-play.
No adaptation time needed.
I can link bump after bump, and at the end of the run I still have great upwind angle and solid support on the back leg.
The stab is stiff and never flexes out under pressure.”
Conclusion
“A stabilizer clearly designed for performance and downwind riding, perfect for riders looking for glide, speed, and fluidity, while still being easy to ride.
Definitely approved for parawing.
PS: It should also feel amazing in surf and SUP.”
