Description

Programme

The Gumball is a super compact noserider built for easy paddling, early take-offs, instant planing from take-off and bringing back that longboard glide in a shorter, more playful and ultra-fun board.

Overview

The Gumball captures the spirit of a longboard noserider in a compact format that is easier and far more playful. It keeps the feel of a bigger board, with easy paddling, planing and smooth glide, but in a reduced length that completely changes the feeling under your feet.

Its first real strength is its ease of use. You get into position quickly, take off early and the board instantly gives you plenty of margin. In small to medium waves, it lets you catch more waves, get to your feet with confidence and make the most of every section without having to force it.

Once up and running, the Gumball planes fast. Its useful volume and high-lift tail generate speed quickly, even when the wave lacks power. You can glide through weaker sections, build speed naturally and make every session more productive, even in average conditions.

Its compact format is what brings the fun. You can turn more easily than on a longboard, step back onto the tail, link up carves, then move forward to look for glide. The board encourages you to move around, try things, vary your surfing and go beyond simply trimming back and forth on the wave.

Its high-lift round nose opens the door to real noseride sensations. You can walk forward, set a few steps and reconnect with that longboard feeling, but with a board that is easier to position, more practical to carry and easier to pivot.

Its fin setup also lets you tune the feel to match the style you are after. As a thruster, the Gumball gains control, pivot and precision under the back foot. As a quad, it unlocks more speed, drive and projection to get through softer sections and keep your flow going.

The Gumball is a true progression toy. It builds confidence, accelerates quickly, offers loads of possibilities and turns small sessions into a real playground. A compact, buoyant and ultra-fun board to bring back that longboard glide with more freedom and less bulk.

Shape
OUTLINE

The outline is compact and buoyant, with plenty of usable surface area in a reduced length. The centred wide point balances the board between stability, comfort and manoeuvrability. The buoyant round nose makes paddling, take-off and those first steps towards the nose easier, while the wide tail provides a solid platform to accelerate and stay in control.

ROCKER

The rocker is constant and moderate to generate maximum speed. It makes paddling, take-off and glide easier in small conditions. The board planes early, carries speed and gets through weak sections without demanding much effort.

BOTTOM SHAPE

The hull combines a nose spoon and a V double concave in the tail. The spoon stabilises the front end when you move up the board and gives you more control in noserides. The VDC in the tail keeps the board fast while making rail-to-rail transitions and weight shifts easier.

TAIL

The wide squash tail provides plenty of lift under the back foot. It helps you plane from take-off, build speed easily and keep speed through weaker sections. Its width also lets you step right back over the fins to pivot, turn tighter and stay in control.

RAILS

The rails are designed to combine forgiveness and control. Up front, the soft, rounded rails reduce mistakes and make the board easy to ride. In the tail, the finer rails add precision, let you push harder through your turns, and keep the ride composed when you accelerate or tighten your arc.

Single Tab connection: simple, direct and solid

The Single Tab system features a single, extended base on each fin. This design creates a solid connection with the fin box, making installation simple, fin changes quick, and power transfer exceptionally direct.

On the water, the benefits are immediate. The board responds instantly, the fins work without unwanted play, and every input translates into drive, grip and control. This is especially valuable on high performance boards, where precise feedback is essential at high speeds and through committed turns.

The Single Tab system also makes it easy to fine tune your setup for different conditions. Changing fin size, template or flex lets you refine the board's feel in just a few moments. It provides a clean, durable and efficient connection, allowing you to unlock the full potential of the shape.

Good to know: Single Tab fin boxes are only compatible with Single Tab fins.

Key benefits:

  • Simple installation and quick fin changes.
  • Direct connection for immediate response underfoot.
  • Excellent drive, grip and control through powerful turns.

Buying guide

Who is it for?

The Gumball is aimed at surfers who want to rediscover the glide of a longboard in a shorter board that is easier to handle and more fun day to day.

It is ideal for surfers who want to catch more waves, get in earlier, progress easily and broaden their range in small to medium conditions.

A surfer used to longboards will find a more compact board here, easier to position and more playful. A surfer used to shortboards will find a board with more float, more forgiveness and far more efficiency when the waves lack power.

What for?

The Gumball is made to paddle easily, get in early, plane fast and surf smoothly.

Its programme covers easy glide, smooth carves, cutbacks, top turns, easy combinations and the first sensations of noseriding. It gives you plenty of time to get to your feet, find your position, move forward, step back and vary your surfing.

It is a board that makes sessions easier and more productive: it accelerates quickly, gets through weak sections and lets you surf with style without having to force every bit of pressure through your turns.

What board size?

Choose your Gumball with the idea of having a floaty, easy and compact board, without going into unnecessary excess volume.

To maximise paddling, stability and noserides, choose a generous size. You will gain comfort, earlier take-off and glide.

To keep a more playful, more manoeuvrable feel that is closer to a shortboard, choose a more compact size. The board will still have plenty of float, but it will pivot more easily under your back foot.

The goal is to keep the Gumball spirit: lots of glide and ease, in a reduced format compared with a classic longboard.

What waves does it suit best?

The Gumball performs at its best in small to medium conditions, from almost nothing up to around head high.

It loves normal, clean, smooth and low-powered waves, where its useful volume, floaty tail and moderate rocker let you get in early and keep your speed.

In soft waves, it planes fast and gets through sections without effort. In longer waves, it lets you link carves, walk the board and look for sensations close to longboarding.

Which construction?

Choose the construction according to the feel you are after.

In PU, the Gumball gains smoothness, inertia and control. It is the ideal choice to recover a more classic longboard feel, composed glide and fluid handling.

In EPS, it becomes lighter, livelier and more responsive. This is the construction to favour for small waves, clean conditions and surfers who want to maximise speed build-up and the playful side.

Which fin setup?

The Gumball can be surfed as a thruster or a quad, depending on the style you are after.

As a thruster, it gains control, pivot and versatility. It is the simplest setup for tight turns, pushing hard through your turns and keeping a balanced feel in the widest range of conditions.

As a quad, it unlocks more speed, drive and projection. It is the ideal setup to maximise planing, get through soft sections and keep rhythm in small waves.

For easy, versatile surfing: thruster. For more glide, speed build-up and speed: quad.

Which shape should you choose?

Choose the Gumball if you want a compact board that captures the spirit of a longboard noserider, with paddling ease, planing, lift and plenty of fun.

Go for a more shortboard-oriented board if you are mainly looking for radical surfing, vertical turns and a more aggressive feel.

Go for a true longboard if you want to maximise cross-steps, pure noseriding and traditional glide over the full length.

The Gumball is the right choice if you want the best compromise: the ease and glide of a big board, with the manoeuvrability, practicality and playful side of a compact format.

Frequent questions
What type of surfer is the Gumball designed for?

The Gumball is made for surfers who want an easy, buoyant and ultra-fun board, with a longboard noserider feel in a more compact format. It’s ideal for catching more waves, progressing and mixing up your surfing.

Is it a beginner board?

It can support a progressing surfer thanks to its easy paddling, stability and early take-off. But it’s not just an accessible board: a skilled surfer will also get a lot of enjoyment out of it thanks to its playful feel, glide and manoeuvrability.

What conditions is the Gumball ideal for?

It performs at its best in small to medium waves, from almost nothing up to around head-high. It loves clean, average, low-powered waves, where its glide and lift let you surf without forcing it.

What’s the difference compared with a classic longboard?

The Gumball delivers the paddling, glide and lift of a longboard, but in a shorter length. It is therefore easier to carry, easier to position in the lineup and much more manoeuvrable underfoot.

Can you do noserides on the Gumball?

Yes, its buoyant round nose and nose concave let you move forward on the board and tap back into that noseride feeling. It does not replace a pure noserider longboard, but it makes that feeling more accessible and more playful.

Why does the Gumball get going so early?

Its generous volume, forgiving outline, moderate rocker and wide tail make paddling and wave entry easier. The result: you get in early, pop up with more confidence and make better use of the smaller sections.

Should you ride it as a thruster or a quad?

As a thruster, the Gumball gains control, pivot and versatility. As a quad, it unlocks more speed, drive and acceleration, especially in small waves. The thruster is the most versatile option, while the quad is ideal for maximising glide.

Why choose the Gumball over a more conventional shorter board?

Because it offers far more paddling, stability and glide than a classic shortboard, while still being more manoeuvrable and less cumbersome than a longboard. It’s the perfect board to make small-wave sessions easier, more productive and more fun.
