Its real talent is making surfing simple, beautiful and natural. It paddles easily, gets going early and instantly delivers a feeling of comfort. You position yourself better, catch more waves and get more out of every session, even when the conditions are not perfect.

On the wave, the Carter makes you want to draw lines. It carries speed, links carves smoothly and leaves plenty of freedom in your trajectories. In clean, long or well-shaped waves, it delivers truly pure glide, with that racy feel that makes you want to stretch every line a little further.

It is a board with style, but not just that. It can cruise effortlessly, accelerate when the wave calls for it and become far more high-performance under the feet of a committed surfer. It stays accessible, but never becomes limiting as your level goes up.

OUTLINE

The outline is harmonious, smooth and racy. It provides enough surface area to paddle fast, get in early and stay comfortable, without making the board feel heavy to ride. The wide point set forward brings stability and great paddling efficiency. The rounded point nose makes take-offs easier, while keeping an elegant, high-performance line through carves.

ROCKER

The rocker is very progressive. It naturally supports glide and lets you link carves without any break in flow. You keep your speed, control and a very fluid feel underfoot. That’s what gives it that smooth, natural and precise ride, ideal for drawing beautiful lines without forcing it.

BOTTOM SHAPE

The hull combines a belly in the nose, a V through the centre and a double concave in the tail. The belly smooths out water entry and keeps the board composed at high speed. The V makes rail-to-rail transitions easier. The double concave adds control and drive under the back foot, so you can push through your turns with confidence.

TAIL

The rounded pin tail blends hold, speed and manoeuvrability. It lets you link clean carves, stay in control through fast sections and carry great speed out of your line. Its shape delivers a smooth, precise ride without locking the board in.

RAILS

The rails are thin and precise. The domed deck keeps thickness through the centre for comfort and paddling, while thinning out the rails to improve hold. The result is a more direct, cleaner and more confident ride when you commit to your carves.

Single Tab connection: simple, direct and solid

The Single Tab system features a single, extended base on each fin. This design creates a solid connection with the fin box, making installation simple, fin changes quick, and power transfer exceptionally direct.

On the water, the benefits are immediate. The board responds instantly, the fins work without unwanted play, and every input translates into drive, grip and control. This is especially valuable on high performance boards, where precise feedback is essential at high speeds and through committed turns.

The Single Tab system also makes it easy to fine tune your setup for different conditions. Changing fin size, template or flex lets you refine the board's feel in just a few moments. It provides a clean, durable and efficient connection, allowing you to unlock the full potential of the shape.

Good to know: Single Tab fin boxes are only compatible with Single Tab fins.

Premium materials: EPS foam blanks, epoxy resin and fiberglass, all selected to meet our exact design requirements.
100% epoxy resin construction over a 28 kg/m³ EPS foam blank with a 3 mm wooden stringer.
Deck layup: 2 layers of 6 oz fiberglass and 1 layer of 4 oz fiberglass.
Bottom layup: 1 layer of 6 oz fiberglass, 1 layer of 4 oz fiberglass, plus an additional 4 oz fiberglass reinforcement patch covering the tail and fin box area.
CNC pre-shaped, checked against traditional templates, then finished entirely by hand.
Matte finish for better glide, improved scratch resistance and a competition-inspired look.
Easy to restore to like-new condition after dings.
Outstanding strength to flex to weight ratio, allowing the shape to perform at its full potential.
This is the modern benchmark construction, available in fiberglass or carbon, and the preferred choice of highly technical surfers seeking maximum performance.

These boards come equipped with a leash plug, a central US Box and 2 Single Tab side boxes for a single or 2+1 setup.

Depending on what you want, your build, the conditions and your surfing style, you can fine-tune the board's feel with different GONG fibreglass fins compatible with US Box and Single Tab.

The single setup uses only the centre fin. The 2+1 setup adds two side fins.
