The brand that gave birth to bodyboarding

Morey fits naturally into the GONG universe with a history inseparable from bodyboarding itself. The brand was created in 1971 by Tom Morey, inventor of the Morey Boogie Board, a board that opened up a new way to ride waves and directly contributed to the birth and development of bodyboarding.

More than fifty years after its creation, Morey remains a historic reference in the discipline. Its identity combines this heritage with modern constructions and materials, with boards designed both for discovering first waves and for more committed riding.

A historic brand in the bodyboard world

From the 1970s onward, Morey boards helped bring bodyboarding to a broad audience. The discipline developed rapidly and soon gave rise to international competitions. In 1982 and 1983, Morey notably organised the International Morey Boogie Bodyboard Pro Championships at the legendary Pipeline wave in Hawaii.

The brand has also supported major figures in the sport, including Mike Stewart, one of the riders who shaped bodyboarding history and helped develop it internationally.

Bodyboards for different levels of riding

The Morey range now includes boards in a variety of sizes and constructions. Accessible models such as the M38, Mach 12 and Big Kahuna sit alongside more technical references from the famous Mach, Turbo and CAP2 series.

Depending on the model, Morey uses different cores such as EPS, PE, PP and NRG+. This variety allows board behaviour to be matched to rider level, conditions and the type of feel being sought.

A heritage adapted to modern bodyboarding

Current ranges retain the DNA of the models that built Morey's reputation while integrating modern materials and constructions. The aim is to preserve the sensations that made the brand's history while meeting the expectations of today's bodyboarders.

At GONG, Morey complements the surf universe with bodyboards from one of the founding brands of the discipline. A reference for discovering bodyboarding, progressing in the waves or returning to models inspired by decades of culture and innovation.
