GONG’s latest range of modular carbon tails and tail wings lets you fine-tune your foil’s performance to suit your style and conditions. With a carbon shaft mounting system compatible with market standards, you can build a custom configuration by adjusting the rear fuselage length and adjusting the tail wing angle using interchangeable shims.
With these options, you have complete control over your foil’s responsiveness, stability, and glide.
Tail Wing Shim: endless possibilities
The angulation shim lets you fine-tune your tail wing’s performance to suit your preferences.
With a 0° shim, the tail wings match the angle of the standard monoblock stabilizers. The shims give you the flexibility to dial up their qualities or soften them for a more relaxed ride.
Total compatibility: The tail wing’s hole spacing is compatible with all fuselages featuring a two-screw system, whether it’s the GONG Carbon Tail, other brands, or even custom parts.
The shims are compatible with all tail wings.
The +1°, 0°, -1°, -2°, or -3° shims can be used individually.
The -0.5° shim can be combined with the others for even more precise adjustment—like -1.5° (by combining the -1° and -0.5° shims).

For experienced riders who want to customize the behavior of their foil.
Positive angulation (with the trailing edge lower) reduces the stabilizer’s effect and relieves pressure on the front foot. It makes the turns longer and smooths out the foil's overall behavior, but it also limits its top speed.
Negative angulation (with the trailing edge higher) does the opposite, boosting the stabilizer’s effect, making the foil more nose-up, and increasing pressure on the front foot. It tightens turn radius, adds drag, and enhances the foil's responsiveness.
The shim is sold individually.
The pack contains all 6 sizes of shim.
The necessary screws for mounting it onto the Carbon Tail (2 M6 x 20 mm) are provided with the Carbon Tail.
