Ripple Trailer Fin - ST Box
Program
A pivot-oriented trailer designed to energize a twin setup and push it toward a more radical thruster-like behavior.
Overview
The Ripple is a trailer with a strong character, designed to transform a twin setup into a more nervous, reactive, and radical configuration. Unlike a balanced trailer like the Tide, the Ripple clearly prioritizes pivot and maneuverability.
With a deliberately cut tip shape, this geometry enhances the pivot point under the back foot and allows the board to turn much tighter. As soon as the surfer engages, the response is immediate, sharp, and precise. The board becomes more incisive, easier to redirect, and capable of chaining tight maneuvers.
The Ripple structures the twin and limits high-speed breakaway, while still preserving enough freedom to maintain the characteristic flow of the setup.
Template
Balanced template with a cut tip, oriented toward pivot. The rake is moderate but visually reduced by the cut tip, making the fin feel more upright. This strongly favors pivot and fast directional changes.

Base
The base is relatively wide for a trailer, allowing a solid support under the back foot. It provides control and improves precision in turns.

Depth

Surface area
The surface is significant, reinforcing the role of the trailer in the setup. It is concentrated on the lower section and quickly tapers toward the tip, freeing the board on exit of turns.

Setup
The twin + trailer setup is a hybrid configuration that combines the speed and glide of a twin fin with an added layer of control. The addition of a center trailer stabilizes the tail and channels water flow without overly weighing down the board.
The feeling remains loose and fast, but more structured: the trailer reduces slide-outs, improves hold through turns and makes trajectories more predictable, especially at high speed or in critical sections. The board retains its freedom while gaining precision and stability.
This is an ideal setup for adapting a twin to more demanding conditions, striking a balance between glide, control and safety in maneuvers.

Buying guide
Who is it for?
This fin offers an excellent balance for surfers who enjoy the glide of a twin fin but want a more modern and responsive feel. It suits an intermediate to advanced level. It is ideal for those who enjoy tight turns, fast transitions, and vertical surfing.
What is it for?
The Ripple is the ideal choice to turn a twin fin into a tight-turning machine without completely losing its natural glide. It works especially well on performance twins, modern fish, and hybrid boards designed for dynamic surfing.
In fast, hollow, or technical waves, it allows you to attack harder, surf more vertically, and secure your rail through critical sections, especially on the backside. A modern and dynamic option.
What size?
The choice of trailer size depends on the desired level of control.
- A small trailer (2” to 3”) remains subtle. It slightly stabilizes the board without affecting its looseness.
- A medium trailer (3” to 4”) offers a good balance between control and glide.
- A larger trailer (4” and above) significantly changes the behavior by increasing hold and stability.
The larger the trailer, the more stable and directional the board becomes. The smaller it is, the freer and faster the board feels.
Equipments
The product is a small center fin designed to be added to a pair of twin fins.
