The 100% surf-freestyle foil enhanced by the characteristic glide of our V3 range.

Presentation

The Ypra Surf-Freestyle V3 is the ultimate foil for sending tricks, designed to offer maximum pop and repop.

Developed for our team riders on the World Tour, it has only one goal: winning by sending one trick after another.

Its mid-aspect ratio provides incredible forgiveness. Ideal for limiting foil size, while also controlling a fierce repop.

Mid-aspect means less wingspan, which results in less breaching and much better rail-to-rail performance, one of the keys to precise and radical pop.

Its top speed is sufficient, though not the primary goal for freestyle. We are working with a mid-aspect wing that offers excellent glide and high efficiency on all angles from 0 to 28 knots.

The tips are protective, with a square face (but perfectly shaped) to limit injury risk when falling 50 times per session, and sometimes not in the best way ;-)

This wing isn't just for freestyle; it also excels in surfing, particularly in onshore conditions with shifty peaks where a radical pivot and great forgiveness at low speeds are needed. Its moderate aspect ratio allows extreme radicality in turns without being limited in the lower wind range. The flight remains super smooth even in choppy waters. You feel safe and can confidently navigate shallow waters. The surf style of the Ypra Surf-Freestyle focuses less on smooth gliding and more on sharp maneuvers and precise turns.

Queen of pop and repop, it’s the front wing for tearing up the spot with huge tricks.

A more efficient foil shape

One of the key elements in the evolution of this range is the complete redesign of our foils to increase their structural and hydrodynamic qualities.

The V3 fuselage is:

The new round shape allows a 12% gain in glide and the thicker section approaching the stab increases the strength and rigidity of the foil.

Hours of calculations on extremely powerful computers have allowed us to optimize the smallest detail to maximize performance. The fillets of all our connections have been carefully studied and adjusted to minimize hydrodynamic disturbances and increase the rigidity and resistance of the assembly.

SuperLock self-tightening system

The SuperLock self-tightening front wing connection has been designed to guarantee perfect tightening even after hours long sessions.

The more pressure you put into the front wing, the tighter it fits into the fuselage.

The pressure angle makes it very easy to disassemble the front wing, even after long sessions.
This fitting only requires two screws under the FW, which makes changing the front wing easier and faster.

This tightening principle, already validated for several years on our V2 stabs, is now available in an optimized version on the front wings.

A real plus for daily use!

Retro fitting

The entire range, from the fuselage, to the mast, to the front wing and the stab, has been revised to radically boost the performance of our foils, without being limited by our old connection shapes.

However, this choice to change all of our parts could not be considered without continuing to offer compatibility with our old ranges.

We therefore offer a wide choice of fuselages which gives you the freedom to mix all our masts, front wings and stabs, whatever their generation.

Carbon HM

The TORAY M40J High Modulus carbon used on our Team Series range offers incredible rigidity. It is a high-end carbon that delivers high mechanical properties while remaining resistant. A carbon used in aeronautics as well as for high-end sports equipment.

Its mechanical characteristics, such as its superior tensile strength and Young's modulus, allow for exceptional performance on the water.

Your equipment is rigid, responsive, and extremely stable.

Front Wing Carbon HM Technology

High Module Carbon offers unparalleled rigidity, representing the pinnacle of performance in our most advanced wings and masts, which face the most demanding structural constraints.

By combining High Module with Intermediate Module, we offer the best performance at the best price.

The products have no flex, the fibers are oriented along multiple axes to lock in bending and torsion, ensuring maximum responsiveness.

Thanks to pre-impregnated fibers, we can guarantee optimal resin usage, providing perfect cohesion at the lightest possible weight.

Each layer of carbon is carefully hand-assembled around a high-density hydrophobic foam core, in a steel mold. A central stiffener is integrated to increase rigidity without compromising on lightness.

The mold is then subjected to high pressure and heated to 150°C to solidify the carbon. The foam core, seeking to expand under the heat, ensures even compression between the carbon layers, ensuring a strong and durable structure.

Durability and repairability are at the heart of our development philosophy. Our foils are tested and proven by dozens of team riders, hundreds of employees, and thousands of customers worldwide. Even in case of damage, our products can be repaired multiple times, ensuring exceptional longevity.

For what?

With pop so extreme that it feels like you might lose your straps, this is a freestyle machine built for sending higher jumps or using its repop for combos.

But if you love wave riding, you're not left out. Its agility in choppy wind waves with shifty peaks will give you all the radical performance needed to completely tear up the spot. We're not talking about smooth gliding here, but full on attack mode!

If you're looking for a cool, stable foil with superb glide, the Ypra Surf-Freestyle isn’t for you. Here, we’re in kangaroo territory.

The Ypra Surf-Freestyle wing pairs perfectly with two Ypra stabilizer models:

The Surf-Freestyle stab, with a shorter span than the other V3 stabilizers, boosts the pop of your setup. In addition to its jumping capabilities, it shortens your turns and offers enormous reactivity. It remains almost tame, simply making all your actions more radical.
The Freestyle stab is even shorter than the Surf-Freestyle and has almost 2° more nose-up angle. It’s nearly unridable—and that’s what we love about it. Full front foot: as soon as you release, the foil pops out of the water. Putting your foot in the rear strap is an adventure! It takes freestyle performance to the next level. The pros want a foil that translates in hard landings for the legs—here it is!
