Our team rider Yucel Paralik breaks down the real differences.

Big air, kite loops, powered riding… the Ayto platform is built for riders who want to push the limits of height and commitment. With its high-performance Hybrid-C design and 5-strut structure, the Ayto delivers maximum stability, massive lift, and precise control even in extreme conditions.

In this overview:

  • Discover the different versions of the Ayto.

  • Hear Yucel’s real-life experience with each one.

Different models within the Ayto range

The Ayto comes in three constructions that share the same DNA but deliver different sensations and performance in the air.

  • The Ayto is the original version built in Dacron: powerful, precise, and extremely stable when riding overpowered. Its high aspect ratio delivers huge lift for big air while keeping the kite predictable during powerful loops.

  • The Ayto Aramid pushes performance further with a lighter and stiffer structure. The Aramid frame reduces deformation, increases responsiveness, and gives the kite a more explosive feel during takeoff and loops.

  • The Ayto Aramid DP goes even further with additional aerodynamic and structural refinements. It features Aramid construction, LDS tips, and a double profile (double skin) on the lower surface of the kite, which reduces turbulence, improves airflow, and increases speed and efficiency in the wind window.

This double profile improves aerodynamic efficiency and allows the kite to fly faster, climb higher, glide longer, and accelerate earlier while keeping exceptional stability when riding fully powered.

On paper, the technical differences are clear. But what really matters is how these choices translate into real sensations while riding.

We asked our team rider Yucel, megaloop specialist, to share his experience on the water.

From Yucel’s pro rider perspective :

  • When switching between the Ayto, Ayto Aramid, and Ayto Aramid DP, what is the first difference you feel when you send the kite for a jump or a loop?

The standard Ayto feels forgiving and easy to use in the air, making it a good kite for beginner to intermediate level in big air. Clearly a lot of fun if you’re getting into big air.

When we move to the Ayto Aramid, the first thing I notice is the kite feels more rigid and responsive in the air, these two factors are thanks to the Aramid material. This material is 85g/m2, which is one of the lightest in the market, yet it’s one of the most rigid and one of the most durable. During the loops the kite makes more of a pivotal turn and catches pretty good. One thing that feels outstanding with this kite is the boost it delivers.

With the Ayto DP version things escalate remarkably. The first thing that I feel in the air is that the kite wants to fly higher in the wind window making take offs much more vertical. This is due to the double profile technology on this kite. It’s the first kite of its kind. The loops feel very fast. The LDS tips make the kite turn more from the tip than the Ayto Aramid and give the kite the good flex we want for precise responsiveness. The hang time is one of the things that caught my attention the most on this kite. At the right conditions after the loop the kite just keeps you gliding and gliding, allowing an extra board flip for me for example.

  • Do you notice a difference in the kite’s speed through the wind window between the three versions? When does that matter the most for big air riding?

When doing big air the speed of the kite allows for safer and bigger loops, at the same time it affects how good you can take off in strong winds. Ideally we would want a kite that doesn’t loop too fast which it becomes aggressive and also not very slow which makes the loops harder. The Ayto DP for my riding is at the perfect speed. The Ayto Aramid and Perf Series are lightly slower than the DP, making them a better option for riders at the level before extreme looping.

  • When going for maximum height, how do the three kites compare in terms of lift, hangtime, and control during the ascent?

The Ayto Aramid creates a seriously big lift. I’d say it’s even 10%-20% more than the DP version, whereas the DP version gives 20%-30% more hang time. The Perf Series still creates good lift and hang time when we compare it to other kites in the range.

  • How do the three versions behave during kite loops? Is there a difference in loop speed, pull, or recovery after the loop?

With the Perf Series model, the kite loops and catches good enough for a beginner to get started with their first loops. It does more of a tip turn during the loop compared to the other models as the structure allows good flex, making the loops more forgiving with steering inputs.

When riding the Ayto Aramid the catch after the loop starts to come to a level to get into higher level big air tricks. The loops feels more pivotal and rigid compared to the Perf Series which allows you to start looping this kite at stronger winds.

When we come to the Ayto DP the catch after the loop is top performance and the loop is the fastest out of the three, making it a true big air machine.

  • The Ayto Aramid DP introduces a double profile. What do you feel differently in the air compared to the other versions

First thing when I get it in the air is that the kite wants to fly more into the window, more above your head thanks to being more aerodynamic in the air by the Double Profile Technology. At stronger gusty winds I felt it gives more stability to the kite meaning I feel less of the punches of the gusts. This kite is the most conformable kite I have ever used at 40 knots. At the take offs the kite gives good vertical take offs and after the loops it just keeps you gliding. I even did some board off late backs on the 12m so the vertical take off and the catch is extremely good on this kite.

  • The DP version also features LDS tips. What do they change when steering the kite?

The tip of the kite gets really thin and there is a carbon stick in it. Making the tips both super rigid and transforming the good flex to the upper side of the leading edge. Most other kites tend to break or bend at the tips when riding at very strong winds. LDS tips fix this problem and improve the speed and strength of the kite.

  • When pushing megaloops or technical loops, which version gives you the most confidence?

For my riding style my choice is the Ayto DP. A mixture of Aramid, Double profile and LDS tips makes the perfect kite for my use.

  • In very strong wind conditions, do you feel a difference in stability or control between the three constructions?

Yes in stronger winds the Aramid version have better stability because of the more rigid

material. And there is even more stability with the DP and LDS tips added to the table.

  • If you had to recommend each version of the Ayto to a specific type of rider or conditions, who would it be for?

The Perf Series Ayto would fit the best for beginner to intermediate level riders that would want to get started with their first loops.

The Ayto Aramid would fit the best for intermediate to advanced levels riders that would want to get into loops with rotations and to ride at stronger winds.

And the Ayto DP would fit the best for the rider that wants the maximum performance out of their kite. It would fit riders all the way from Intermediate to professional level.
