Tobi originally chose the 7’6 Mob to please the whole family, but it proved to be capable of high performance too in the more solid conditions as well. He tells us all about it.
“Let’s not forget that GONG offers much more than just great foils, wings and foil boards. I got a grip on a Mob 7’6 recently and put it to the test in relatively big, powerful Portuguese waves. The Mob focuses mainly on getting the most out of slow and mushy waves but I wanted to push its boundaries and used it for a session in Portugal with fast and powerful waves up to 2.5 and sometimes even 3m.
The board handled these conditions greatly and I had real fun charging hard on those waves.
The board gained all the necessary speed to hold on those fast waves and releases freely in the turns. We consider the Mob as the perfect wave SUP for our family: my wife can have fun on it in small and slow waves and I can also go hard on it, once the conditions allow it.”
