Overview

The Mint is a best-seller in our range thanks to its magical glide combined with incredible ease of use.

Everything is easy on the Mint, and anything is possible. It lifts off effortlessly, inspires confidence straight away, and still delivers enough performance for a pro to throw highly committed moves with disarming ease.

With its versatile shape that keeps a bit of length and width, but without overdoing it, it strikes the perfect balance between accessibility and top-level performance. Its exceptional glide makes take-offs easier, including in light wind, while its stability at a standstill keeps you relaxed through every phase before lift-off.

For 2027, the deck is even more recessed in the pad area to bring your feet closer to the foil. The board is thinner underfoot, the connection feels more direct, and control gains even more precision. The new volume distribution in the nose and tail keeps all the lift that makes the Mint so easy, especially on take-off and during water contact.

In flight, its manoeuvrability and responsiveness still make it a benchmark in freefly, with a smooth, natural feel that lets you focus fully on your glide and your carves.

Compared with the more specialised or more radical models in the range, the Mint remains the easiest high-performance board to get to grips with. It is an excellent board for progressing, but also one that very good riders love for its versatility and how simply it delivers performance.

Easy, smooth, stable and not physically demanding, the Mint remains that super-cool board you ride a lot, in a huge range of conditions, without ever feeling like you're making compromises.

OUTLINE

With its compact yet comfortable outline, the Lemon offers excellent stability for its size. Its width around the stance makes foot pressure easier and helps you find your bearings quickly, even in chop.

The outline narrows towards the rounded point nose and diamond tail with wingers to reduce swing weight in flight. The board stays easy before take-off and feels very free in carves.

ROCKER

The stretched rocker through the rear third promotes glide and acceleration. The Lemon reaches take-off speed easily and requires less effort when pumping.

During touchdowns or landings, this stretched line keeps the board moving forward and makes it easier to pop back up onto foil.

HULL

The flat, planing hull through the rear third delivers clean water release that maximises glide before take-off. It helps you reach the speed needed for flight quickly and makes it easier to use smaller foils.

Up front, the double concave channels the flow and softens touchdowns by limiting deceleration.

TAIL

The diamond tail with wingers keeps support around the back foot before pulling the outline in through the tail. This keeps the Lemon stable on take-off while giving it more freedom in the carves.

The rear volume reinforces that support and makes pumping and restarts easier, with less energy spent.

RAILS

The rails are straight and sharp at the tail to promote clean water release and maximise glide during acceleration.

They gradually become softer towards the nose to better handle chop and touchdowns. This gives the Lemon a smooth, comfortable feel in both surf and freefly.

NOSE

The generous rounded point nose provides support without creating too much bulk in flight. The bulb’s maximum volume is brought closer to the rider to better support the board during acceleration.

Combined with the double concave and soft rails, this nose smooths out touchdowns without abruptly killing speed and helps the board naturally regain flight.

Recessed deck

The recessed deck brings your feet closer to the foil for greater connection, precision and control. This lower position improves the transfer of rider input whether riding strapped or strapless, while maintaining enough freedom to adjust your stance. The rider feels more locked in, closer to the foil and benefits from a more direct feel through every maneuver.

Volume distributed from nose to tail

The lowered deck is combined with added volume at the front and rear to maintain support around the rider. The maximum nose volume is positioned closer to the stance to provide better support during take-off, acceleration and water contact. At the rear, the volume follows the same principle, creating a natural continuity in the shape from nose to tail.

Drain Plug

The drain plug has been specially designed to make operation safer and easier. Its shape allows it to lock directly into the board to ensure a watertight seal while riding, with a 90° twist-lock closure. When opening, the system passes through an intermediate position before fully releasing the plug. This maximizes airflow between sessions and also allows any water to drain out in the event of infiltration before repair.

Team Series Graphic Signature

The Team Series range shares an instantly recognizable visual identity built around a textured Frozen White finish that adds depth to the surface and creates an almost crystallized appearance depending on the light.

This light base is paired with a tail color specific to each shape, giving every board its own personality while maintaining a strong visual consistency across the range. The contrast between the Frozen White and the tail colors highlights the board’s lines and reinforces its identity without overloading the design.

Footstrap Inserts

The new footstrap inserts improve both adjustability and support. At the rear, the two-screw mounting system offers 5 positions for precise foot placement while limiting strap rotation under heavy loads. At the front, 3 positions allow you to fine-tune your stance, with double side inserts positioned diagonally to improve stability and keep the strap perfectly in place during the most committed riding.

Luxe Footstraps

The new boards come equipped with a set of V-shaped Luxe Footstraps, chosen by our Team for their comfort and precision. Adjustable with Velcro, they provide fine, tool-free adjustment, both on land and while riding, allowing you to quickly adapt the fit to your foot and riding style.

Each footstrap combines:

An adjustable internal structure with semi-rigid reinforcement to provide effective support around the arch of the foot.
A lined neoprene cover for lasting comfort and softness during long sessions.

Their three-hole baseplate allows for one- or two-screw mounting. Combined with the double inserts, the two-screw setup provides a more secure fit and limits strap rotation under heavy loads, keeping your footing more stable and precise during committed maneuvers.

Ridge Traction Pad

With its perfect grip and 5 mm thickness, the new Ridge Traction Pad delivers outstanding comfort and traction. Your footing is completely secure, giving you surgical precision and control.

Contact with the board is firm and direct for precise foil control, while retaining the cushioning of a 5 mm pad.

The pad is also bonded directly to the board’s epoxy surface. This creates an extremely reliable bond between the pad and the board, significantly reducing the risk of delamination over time and keeping your footing secure for the long term. The result: a grip that stays perfectly in place, total confidence underfoot and significantly improved durability.

Optimized carry handle

An optimized carry handle is positioned at the board’s balance point with the foil mounted. It makes carrying the board and getting into the water easier, providing a natural and comfortable grip.

Who is it for?

It’s a simple, stable board, to the point that you could almost learn on it, but you still need enough level to really love it:

Either you already have a significant number of hours flying with a wing (say, solid gybes and the start of your tacks).
Or you already know how to handle a foil really well (in kite, for example).
Or you come from a windsurfing background: that helps a lot with handling the wing and staying on your feet.

In any case, even though it’s easy, the Mint is performance-oriented, exactly as its programme suggests.

In a high volume version (your weight +30), it’s genuinely very easy. But if you go for a volume close to your weight (+10), staying on your knees in chop still won’t be effortless. You need to be in good physical shape to stay sharp and reactive.

It’s clearly the board for anyone who wants to push the wing’s full potential in the waves while keeping plenty of comfort.

But it’s also a very good option for Lowkite, as its stability will make your setup and take-offs easier.

What for?

The Mint is a pure freeride / freefly / wave riding board, with enough comfort to make life easier and throw tricks without worrying about struggling to get going again.

In short: it’s 80% wave riding and 20% freestyle / jumps. So 100% freeride ;-)

It’s responsive and playful. It’s an amazing feeling to have everything fall perfectly into place. Control at high speed and through carves is fantastic.

Ideal in surf and perfect for jumps, it’s 100% high performance.

The Mint works perfectly with V3 ATMO foils that prioritise carving, speed, glide and freefly. The Curve is ideal for its reassuring, easy-handling feel, the Fluid for a more lively ride, and the different Veloce models to push glide and speed even further. A Sirus, meanwhile, will maximise low-end range and take-off ease.

The Curve V3 ATMO: the manoeuvrability and control combo.
It’s the perfect choice for easy carving with a foil that feels balanced and easy to read under your feet. Its lift and forgiveness let you make the most of the Mint’s ease while still keeping enough glide and performance to progress a very long way.

The Fluid V3 ATMO: the manoeuvrability and speed combo.
More lively and more direct, it’s perfect for tight turns, accelerating, gliding and riding with a more aggressive feel. Its dynamic character is a perfect match for a Mint used in surf, committed freeride or freestyle.

The Veloce V3 ATMO: the glide and speed combo.
Its high aspect ratio prioritises efficiency and speed retention. It’s an excellent match for fast freeride, freefly and long carves, with a foil that carries efficiently through lulls and naturally extends every glide phase.

The Veloce Free Fly V3 ATMO: glide with freedom.
Designed to keep plenty of speed without becoming too locked in, it is particularly well suited to freefly, long glides and accessible downwind. An excellent choice for making the most of the Mint’s glide while keeping a foil that stays active and easy to pilot.

The Veloce Light Wind V3 ATMO: efficiency in light wind.
It prioritises early take-off, lift and staying in flight with very little energy. Combined with the Mint’s natural glide, it lets you make the most of light conditions while still keeping speed and efficiency once flying.

The Sirus V3 ATMO: the queen of the low end.
Its very high lift combined with its glide lets you take off early and stay flying at low speed. It’s the choice for maximising light wind sessions, pumping efficiently and making the most of every bit of available energy.

The Ypra Surf-Freestyle V3 ATMO: the committed surf and freestyle mix.
More radical, it’s aimed at riders who want to push the Mint in carves, speed build-up and moves. Its dynamic behaviour prioritises pop, repop, manoeuvrability and quick foot pressure changes.

Yes. This document goes much further than the old "big stab = stable / small stab = fast" logic. It describes precisely the character of each stab family, the difference between Perf and Team, and above all how the rear end transforms the behaviour of the complete aircraft. So I’ll now use it systematically for the "Which stab?" sections in board product pages.

For the Mint, I would replace the current section with this one:

Which stab?

Your stab choice has a very clear influence on the character of your Mint. To keep the setup simple and immediately coherent, your first choice should be a stab from the same family and the same series as your Front Wing. Curve, Fluid and Veloce stabs are not only distinguished by their size: their profile, span and surface distribution each give a very different feel.

The Curve stab: control and carving.
It brings plenty of support, a settled feel and excellent readability through carves. It’s the natural choice for getting the most out of the Mint in freeride and wave riding with a foil that feels reassuring, carries well at low speed and is easy to build speed with.

The Fluid stab: speed and responsiveness.
More lively and more powerful through foot pressure, it speeds up rail-to-rail transitions and frees up direction changes even more. It’s a perfect match for a Mint ridden with a more dynamic style, tight carves, pop and strong speed build-up.

The Veloce stab: glide and freefly.
Less powerful than a Fluid, it prioritises speed retention, glide and long lines. It’s an excellent option for getting the most out of the Mint in freefly, fast freeride or in bumps with a foil that feels more relaxed and energy-efficient.

The stab size then lets you fine-tune that balance. A larger size generally brings more support, stability and help in slower phases, at the cost of a little more drag. A smaller size frees up the foil more, improves speed and manoeuvrability, but requires more precision and control.

For riders who want to go further with tuning, the Curve, Fluid and Veloce Tail Wings let you keep those same directions while choosing span and incidence separately thanks to the Tail Shaft / Shim Tail system. The Medium with Shim Tail 0° is the standard starting point when no different specific setup is recommended.

This new base is much more interesting for future product pages: the stab will no longer be presented as a simple accessory to size, but as a real lever for tuning the foil’s feel according to each board’s programme.

These boards are equipped with 2 GONG US Box Double Entry tracks compatible with standard 4-bolt plate foils and the SCS system with 9 cm spacing, Luxe footstraps with multi-position anti-twist inserts, a Ridge Traction Pad, an integrated carry handle, a leash plug, an automatic pressure relief screw and a high-flow drainage valve.

The Double Entry system allows very fast mounting of GONG foils while remaining compatible with standard square nut setups. The SCS is not supplied with the board.

Who is the Mint for?

The Mint is aimed at riders looking for an easy, stable and high-performance board to progress or make the most of a solid level without moving onto a demanding shape. A few hours of flight time, solid gybes or good experience on another foiling craft make an excellent starting point.

What is the Mint designed for?

It’s a freeride, freefly and wave riding board with real potential for sending jumps and tricks. Its DNA remains focused on glide and surf, with around 80% wave riding and 20% freestyle / jumps, in a smooth, versatile and low-effort ride.

How do I choose the volume of my Mint?

Volume depends on your weight, your level and the comfort you’re looking for. At around your weight +30 L, the Mint becomes very accessible and stable. At around your weight +10 L, it feels sportier but requires more balance, especially on your knees in chop.

Does the Mint take off easily in light wind?

Yes. Its length, stretched rocker and planing hull let it build speed quickly before take-off while keeping pumping effort to a minimum. It makes efficient use of light pull and stays stable enough to set up take-off with confidence.

Is the Mint suited to wave riding and freefly?

Yes, it’s even one of its main uses. Its glide makes it easier to get into the bumps, while its manoeuvrability and control make freefly feel very natural. The work on the nose and hull also helps maintain speed through touchdowns.

Can the Mint be used for lowkite?

Yes. Its stability and easy take-off make it easier to get set up and take off in lowkite. It builds the speed needed before lift-off with ease, while staying manoeuvrable and enjoyable to ride once in the air.

Which foil should you pair with the Mint?

A Curve V3 ATMO will prioritise control and carving, a Fluid V3 ATMO will bring more liveliness and speed, while a Veloce V3 ATMO will push glide and freefly even further. To maximise low-end range and lift, a Sirus V3 ATMO will be particularly well suited.

What are the vent valve and drain plug for?

The automatic pressure relief valve balances internal pressure while riding. Between sessions, during storage and transport, the drain plug must be left open to maximise air exchange and prevent any overpressure in the Hollow structure. It must be closed again just before launching and also allows any water to be drained in the event of ingress before repair.
