Programme

A 2+1 competition longboard, the Hyperdrive is built to accelerate hard, link radical manoeuvres and deliver precise performance from tail to nose.

Overview

The Hyperdrive pushes the limits of the modern longboard with an even sharper take on the Moodrive. Faster, more reactive and more precise, it is aimed at longboarders who want to perform in competition, with a board capable of expressing power, flow and explosiveness.

Designed for committed surfing, the Hyperdrive excels in radical manoeuvres, powerful carves and quick speed build-up. It loves waves with face and rhythm, while still offering enough efficiency to generate speed through softer sections.

With its slightly lower rocker than the Moodrive, the Hyperdrive stands out for its instant acceleration and its ability to hold speed through every part of the wave. It flies off the take-off, carries through weak sections and lets you make the most of every wave from start to finish.

Whether you are positioned on the nose or the tail, the board responds with great precision. It paddles fast, gets into waves early and delivers a very direct feel underfoot, with that sense of always having speed on tap to keep linking turns.

Its competition outline keeps the Moodrive DNA, but with an even smoother, more incisive ride. The baby diamond tail makes it easy to link tight manoeuvres, while the pronounced rails provide precise control through powerful carves.

The Hyperdrive also retains genuine noseride ability. It is not limited to surfing off the tail, it lets you walk forward, set precise nose rides and keep that essential blend of modern performance and longboard feel.

That is what makes it so strong: throwing 360s, airs and committed cutbacks, then settling back into a smoother line and walking to the nose when the section stands up. The Hyperdrive lets you vary your surfing, attack, build speed and keep style across the full length of the board.

In action, it reveals its full potential: fast, reactive and formidably efficient. From building speed through soft sections to radical manoeuvres in steeper waves, it meets the expectations of the most ambitious riders.

The Hyperdrive is far more than a refined Moodrive, it is a competition longboard that redefines the standards of modern performance. A board for those who want speed, precision and strong sensations, from tail to nose.

Shape
OUTLINE

The outline is refined to maximise speed, paddling and responsiveness. The nose keeps enough width to provide support in noserides, while the more drawn-out lines deliver a smoother, faster ride.

The pulled-in tail improves precision in your lines and makes committed manoeuvres easier. It remains a true longboard, but with a livelier, more direct feel underfoot.

ROCKER

The rocker is lower and more progressive to generate speed more easily. This more drawn-out line lets you accelerate hard from the very first pressure points and maintain efficiency through softer sections.

The slight tail kick keeps the control you need for radical manoeuvres. The board stays fast, but still handles tight turns, crisp transitions and more committed lines.

BOTTOM

The bottom shape combines a nose spoon, a subtle double concave through the middle and a smoother release off the tail. It keeps movement smooth while optimising speed underfoot.

The spoon helps lock in precise noserides, while the double concave channels the flow for better control and acceleration. The board stays fast, fluid and more precise through transitions.

TAIL

The refined baby diamond tail brings precision, responsiveness and control. Its reduced surface area cuts down bulk under the back foot and makes quick direction changes easier.

This tail lets you commit to tight turns, build speed quickly and stay stable in steeper waves. It delivers the responsiveness a competition longboard needs.

RAILS

The rails are defined and slightly pinched to maximise hold through carves. They guide the board with precision and let you push hard without losing your line.

They still remain forgiving enough to keep transitions smooth and the ride comfortable. You get more grip, control and feel underfoot, without making the board unnecessarily demanding.

Single Tab connection: simple, direct and solid

The Single Tab system features a single, extended base on each fin. This design creates a solid connection with the fin box, making installation simple, fin changes quick, and power transfer exceptionally direct.

On the water, the benefits are immediate. The board responds instantly, the fins work without unwanted play, and every input translates into drive, grip and control. This is especially valuable on high performance boards, where precise feedback is essential at high speeds and through committed turns.

The Single Tab system also makes it easy to fine tune your setup for different conditions. Changing fin size, template or flex lets you refine the board's feel in just a few moments. It provides a clean, durable and efficient connection, allowing you to unlock the full potential of the shape.

Good to know: Single Tab fin boxes are only compatible with Single Tab fins.

Key benefits:

  • Simple installation and quick fin changes.
  • Direct connection for immediate response underfoot.
  • Excellent drive, grip and control through powerful turns.

Buying guide

Who is it for?

For surfers who want a competition longboard, fast, lively and precise, capable of performing from tail to nose.

The Hyperdrive is aimed at technical longboarders who want to go further than with a classic performance longboard. It demands solid foot pressure, precise wave reading and the desire to surf with real intensity.

It’s the right choice for those who want to accelerate hard, link radical manoeuvres, keep control at high speed and still retain true noseride quality.

It’s not the most easy-going longboard in the range. Its programme is clearly focused on modern performance, speed, precision and commitment.

What for?

The Hyperdrive is built to surf fast and hard in 2+1. Its programme blends acceleration, speed build-up, committed manoeuvres, control at speed and precise noserides.

It lets you maximise every wave from start to finish. The board paddles fast, flies on take-off, gets through softer sections and keeps enough speed to stay on the offensive.

Its strength is performing in every part of the wave. You can attack from the tail, link a powerful carve, reposition the board, then walk to the nose when the section stands up.

It’s a longboard for those who want a sharper ride than the Moodrive, with more natural speed, more liveliness and more response underfoot.

What board size?

The Hyperdrive comes in 9’0, with several widths from 56 cm to 60 cm and volumes from 63L to 77L. This range lets you fine-tune the board to your size, level, paddling and waves.

Choose the lower volumes if you’re looking for maximum precision, control and radicality. The board will feel more sensitive underfoot and more direct through manoeuvres.

The mid-range volumes offer the best balance between paddling, speed, stability and performance. It’s often the most consistent choice to fully unlock the competition programme without making the board too demanding.

The higher volumes bring more paddling comfort, more float and more margin on the nose. If you’re unsure, go thinner for radicality, more voluminous for paddling and forgiveness.

What are the ideal waves?

Size: from waist-high to double overhead depending on your level, the spot and the commitment you’re after.

Power: it works very well in waves with push, but still keeps enough natural speed to stay efficient through softer sections.

Shape: it prefers clean waves, open faces, fast sections and conditions that let you link speed build-up, radical manoeuvres and noserides.

The Hyperdrive is especially interesting when the wave lets you vary your surfing: accelerate, attack, reposition, walk to the nose and take off again with speed.

What fin setup?

The Hyperdrive is designed around a 2+1 setup, with a central US box and two Single Tab side fins. This setup is ideal for a competition longboard because it combines glide, drive, control and precision.

The central US box lets you tune the board’s behaviour. Moving the centre fin forward makes the longboard more mobile and more reactive. Moving it back brings more hold in the line, more stability and more control through big carves.

The Single Tab side fins reinforce the performance ride. They add grip, drive and precision when you push hard from the tail.

For smoother surfing with more glide, go for a centre fin that lets the board breathe. For more radical surfing, choose a setup with more hold to keep control at high speed.

Which shape should you choose?

Choose the Hyperdrive if you want the most competition-focused longboard: fast, lively, precise and capable of delivering top-level performance from tail to nose.

Choose the Moodrive if you want a performance longboard that’s already very radical, but a little less sharp, with a more accessible and more versatile ride.

If your priority is pure noseriding, classic footwork and long drawn-out lines, a more dedicated noserider longboard will make more sense.

If you want to push your longboard surfing towards more speed, more precision and more radical manoeuvres, the Hyperdrive is the most committed choice.

Frequent questions
Who is the Hyperdrive for?

The Hyperdrive is for surfers looking for a competition longboard that is fast, responsive and precise. It’s a longboard built to attack, accelerate hard, link radical manoeuvres and perform from tail to nose.

What’s the difference between the Hyperdrive and the Moodrive?

The Hyperdrive is more finely tuned than the Moodrive. It goes further in natural speed, responsiveness and precision. The Moodrive remains a radical performance longboard, but the Hyperdrive pushes further towards competition, with a more lively and more demanding ride.

What kind of waves does the Hyperdrive perform best in?

It performs best in clean waves, from waist-high to double overhead, with open faces, rhythm and sections to work with. It loves waves with push, but still carries enough speed to get through softer sections.

Is the Hyperdrive made for noseriding?

Yes, but with a performance-driven approach. Its nose concave adds control for walking forward and setting precise noserides. This is not a classic noserider: it combines precise noserides with radical surfing off the tail.

Why does the Hyperdrive accelerate so hard?

Its lower, more progressive rocker delivers a more drawn-out, faster glide than the Moodrive. It generates speed from the very first pressure through the feet, keeps its efficiency through weaker sections, and lets you stay on the attack all the way along the wave.

Which volume should you choose for the Hyperdrive?

The Hyperdrive is available in 9'0, from 63L to 77L. The lower volumes maximise precision, control and radical performance. The mid-range volumes offer the best balance. The higher volumes bring more paddle power, comfort and lift at the nose.

Which fin setup should you choose on the Hyperdrive?

The Hyperdrive is designed as a 2+1, with a central US box and two Single Tab side fins. The centre fin tunes hold and pivot, while the side fins add drive, grip and precision for powerful surfing off the tail.

Is the Hyperdrive accessible to everyone?

This is a high-performance longboard, so it already requires solid foot pressure and good wave reading. It still paddles and takes off efficiently, but its real potential comes through with riders who can commit, build speed and use the full length of the board.
