In surf foiling, to catch sets, you either need strong pumping skills to reach the wave beyond the lineup, or you have to wait patiently at the lineup for the set to come your way. However, taking off on a set in surf foil can lead to being ejected by the wave’s power. Unless you take off early enough with an ultra-efficient paddling board.
