The “Hors Série” project takes production models from our classic range and reimagines them through original graphic designs rooted in surf culture and the creative spirit of the craftsmen in our shaping workshop. Through this label, we aim to celebrate a sport in constant motion that, at the crossroads of inspiration and sensation, creates rare, meaningful, and unique moments.

This originality of feeling is expressed here through a graphic capsule of five “Ondulée” designs, featuring soft, fluid, and enveloping lines. The project explores a direct connection between the shape of the wave and the flowing sensation unique to longboarding.

The project explores a direct correspondence between the shape of a wave and the feeling of classic longboard glide: fluid, continuous, uninterrupted.
Through a minimalist treatment, the board becomes the support for a simple and immediate reading of movement: a wavy line visually translates the rider’s ideal trajectory, like a breath laid gently across the object.

Movement as a visual signature

The graphic concept is built around a contrast between a pastel color block wrapping the ends of the board and a white wavy outline that feels organic and irregular. This line is not merely decorative: it symbolizes the meeting point between the board and the water. The wave thus becomes a trajectory, a rhythm, a visual translation of the harmonious glide that defines longboarding.

The color palette draws inspiration from spring morning light: soft, slightly desaturated tones creating a calm, luminous, and soothing atmosphere. An evocation of those first sessions when the ocean is still glassy.

The choice of the Deano shape by Patrice was far from accidental, as Olivier, GONG workshop manager and initiator of the “Hors Série” project, developed together with his workshop team, explains:

“A Logger is paradoxical by nature. Both iconic and alternative, the classic surfing spirit inspired by the Longboard remains on the fringe of today’s more radical and abundant surf expression. A divide is often felt between the Shortboard and Longboard worlds, both in the approach to riding and in the overall atmosphere in the lineup…

The paradox is both physical and conceptual: it is difficult to perform the seemingly simple movements (moving on the board, forward, backward, hanging five, cross-steps, etc) that compose this aquatic dance adored by neo-beatniks with mullets.

It is this authentic, minimalist approach to glide, yet virtuosic in its details, one that seeks to elevate the playfulness of the moment without disrupting the rhythm of the swell, that the ‘Ondulée’ capsule pays tribute to. These five boards illustrate a space of harmony between Glide and the people of the shoreline. A refreshing collection on the eve of the summer swells.
