HIPE Learn 2026

Flat navigation on water or in flight, you’re no longer under any pressure: you progress step by step, free to either take flight or cruise calmly!

Feeling confident is essential before flying above the water. The Learn is made for that. Stable and efficient for your needs, it’s the perfect board for complete beginners. No prior knowledge is necessary.

You ride it either with its centerboard or with the foil, depending on your progress. The new composite plate is made for all these configurations. So you can learn how to handle the wing before learning how to fly: one step after another to ensure progress.

Obviously these qualities make it a great board for sailing clubs, but it is also perfect for individual beginners who want to take their time, or even just ride a wing on the water in light wind.

With its generous shape, it’s also perfectly suited for learning SUP foil.

Once you feel confident, its optimized length helps you gain speed and take off smoothly. Its comfortable length/width ratio allows you to learn how to pump (i.e., “work” the wing to gain speed) without losing balance.

Which Hipe Learn to choose?

Is winging new to you? The two shapes of the HIPE Learn are made for you. So which one to choose?

These two HIPEs have very similar volumes between 170 L and 185 L.

The real difference is in the pre-flight glide and the liveliness in the air:

The 6’5 will be livelier, with less inertia, therefore more sporty and modern in its approach because it is a small board in an XXL version.
The 8’0 is the one that will save you from pumping because it glides on its own. More stable in the air, very smooth and relatively fast on the water, it is the one that will give you preflight pleasure. And it will also be the least physical.

Looking to make the most of windless days and get into SUP foil?

The 6’5’s compact shape is perfect for beginners and will support you all the way to catching your first SUP foil waves. Its key advantage? You can paddle without struggling with the constant wobbles of a high-performance board. It keeps the same wing characteristics but with a livelier feel.

The 8’0, with its extra length, makes take-offs smoother and provides even more stability in flight. It’s the most accessible HIPE Learn model for learning SUP foil.

What size wing and foil?

For the wing :

Don’t overestimate the power of wings. A rider weighing 85kg will need 15-20 knots with a 5m² wing to fly at first. After about fifteen sessions, they will be able to fly at 15 knots with a 5m². And if they are athletic, they will pump hard and lift off at 12 knots in 5m² to get through lulls at 8 knots. This is a learning process and takes time.

For the foil:

In wing foiling, all sizes are suitable. The heavier the rider and/or the weaker the wind, the larger the foil. Conversely, lighter riders who are comfortable with take-offs can opt for smaller sizes.

Which accessories?

Safety is crucial in all board sports, and even more so with foiling.

Leashes are not an option. Inspect it before each session and replace it yearly—it’s your lifeline.

For optimal safety, a helmet and an impact vest are absolute must-haves.

To enhance safety, we’ve created the Bodyguard textile range, designed to reduce the risk of foil cuts. While the danger is always there, it’s even more significant during the learning phase. We strongly advise taking every precaution possible.

As an option we recommend:

HELMET And Impact jacket : to protect you in the event of a fall and allow you to progress safely.

To protect and maintain your equipment: (optionally recommended option to guarantee its sustainability)

Gong Foil Plane Bag Manta, to protect your foil during storage or transport when it is mounted.
The Tikal Tef-Gel : Marine fat to protect the screws of your foil from galvanic corrosion, and thus avoid seaming the screws.

To develop your wing Plus :

Rigid handles for wings with interchangeable handles for better control.
2 -part Boom Carbon removable parts and a harness for even more maneuverability and speed engagement.

Good to Know:

Never leave your board in the sun—especially an inflatable board, and even more so a black carbon plate, which heats up quickly. Excessive heat can cause delamination!

Be careful when screwing into the foil box. If you go too deep, you’ll pierce the inflatable shell. We supply closed US box inserts, but caution is key.

Never let your foil board get caught in breaking waves, especially near shore. A wave rolling your board can cause significant damage.

The bag is provided with all the compartments suitable for the board and the foil.
These backpack straps are heavily padded and incorporate back and chest straps for added comfort.
The handles are super sturdy and nice.
Its pocket is enlarged on the front to isolate and protect your frontwing from the rest... and provide wetsuit, poncho, change and whatever ;), now without space constraints!
