Flat navigation on water or in flight, you’re no longer under any pressure: you progress step by step, free to either take flight or cruise calmly!

Feeling confident is essential before flying above the water. The Learn is made for that. Stable and efficient for your needs, it’s the perfect board for complete beginners. No prior knowledge is necessary.

You ride it either with its centerboard or with the foil, depending on your progress. The new composite plate is made for all these configurations. So you can learn how to handle the wing before learning how to fly: one step after another to ensure progress.

Obviously these qualities make it a great board for sailing clubs, but it is also perfect for individual beginners who want to take their time, or even just ride a wing on the water in light wind.

With its generous shape, it’s also perfectly suited for learning SUP foil.

Which HIPE Learn to choose?

The practice of wing is new to you? The two shapes of the HIPE Learn are made for you. So which one to choose?

These two HIPEs have very similar volumes between 170 L and 185 L.

The real difference is in the glide before flight and the liveliness in the air:

The 6’5 will be livelier, with less inertia, therefore more sporty and modern in its approach because it is a small board in an XXL version.
The 8’0 is the one that will save you from pumping because it slides on its own. More stable in the air, very smooth and relatively fast on the water, it is the one that will give you pleasure before the flight. And it will also be the least physical.

Do you want to get a head start on windless days and are you thinking of trying SUPfoil?

The compact shape of the 6'5 is ideal for beginners and will accompany you until your first beautiful waves in SUPfoil. Its big plus is to paddle without being permanently unstable like on a pro board. It retains its character described for the wing with more responsiveness.

The length of the 8’0 will accelerate more easily on take-off before also offering more stability in flight. This is the easiest HIPE Learn board to introduce you to SUPfoil.

What size of wing and foil?

For the wing :

Don't overestimate the power of wings. An 85kg template needs 15/20knots in 5m² to fly at the beginning. After around fifteen sessions, he will fly at 15 knots in 5m². And if he is sporty he will pump hard and take off at 12 knots in 5m² to go from soft to 8 knots. All this has to be learned and takes time.

For the foil:

In wing foil, all sizes work. The heavier the rider and/or the wind is weak, the larger sizes we will look for. Conversely, riders who are lighter and comfortable with takeoff can look for smaller sizes.

What accessories?

Safety is of paramount importance when practicing board sports and even more so when it comes to foil sports.

Leashes are essential, remember they are your life jacket! Check their condition before each session and change them every year.

In addition, to practice in the best conditions, you must absolutely wear a protective helmet and an impact vest.

We have also developed a range of Bodyguard fabric, which adds additional protection against the risk of cutting linked to the foil. Risk is present all the time, but it is even more important during the learning phase. We recommend +++ that you protect yourself as much as possible.

As an optional extra, we recommend the following.

HELMET and IMPACT JACKET : to protect you in the event of a fall and allow you to progress safely.

To protect and maintain your equipment (highly recommended option to guarantee its durability):

GONG FOIL PLANE BAG MANTA, to protect your foil during storage or transport when it is mounted;
TIKAL TEF-GEL : Marine grease to protect the screws of your foil against galvanic corrosion, and thus avoid seizing the screws.

To develop your wing MORE:

RIGID HANDLES for wings with interchangeable handles for better control;
BOOM CARBON 2 PARTS and a harness for even more maneuverability and engagement at speed and still being able to store everything in the bag.

Good to know:

Never leave your board in the sun, especially an inflatable board, and even less a black carbon plate which will heat up very quickly. You risk seeing it come unstuck!!!

Do not screw further than the bottom of the box, otherwise you will pass through the skin of the inflatable. We deliver non-opening US squares, but be careful.

Never let your foil board take a beating in the waves, especially at the edge. You must protect it from major efforts. A wave that carries your board and rolls it can do serious damage.

Equipments

Your board is delivered in a redesigned wheeled carry bag, super practical and robust.

The bag is provided with all the compartments suitable for the board and the foil.
These backpack straps are heavily padded and incorporate back and chest straps for added comfort.
The handles are super sturdy and nice.
Its pocket is enlarged on the front to isolate and protect your frontwing from the rest... and provide wetsuit, poncho, change and whatever ;), now without space constraints!
And the compression straps reduce the volume of the bag to a minimum. Nothing is missing!
