Description

Programme

The Pie is a super-fast board with magical rail-to-rail and incredible hold through its lines.

Overview

The Pie is the fast, lively and ultra-fun fish for riders who want to rediscover the pure glide of a twin: get in early, accelerate hard, move fluidly from rail to rail and surf with maximum freedom.

Its deep fish tail gives the board all its character. Wide, buoyant and lively, it delivers instant speed, plenty of speed build-up and a very solid feel under the back foot. The board flies along, keeps its momentum and gets through weak sections with huge ease.

Despite its generous dimensions, the Pie remains easy to handle. Its volume gives just enough float to make paddling and take-off easier, without becoming a drawback in manoeuvres. You get an efficient, fast and accessible board, without needing an extreme level to bring it to life.

One of its biggest strengths is its surprising rail-to-rail. The deep fish tail releases excess pressure, while the bottom shape helps the board roll easily from one rail to the other. The result: you can link carves at full speed, with lift, fluidity and real confidence through your turns.

The Pie always keeps its twin DNA, but its fin setup evolves with the sizes. From 4’11 to 5’11, it comes as a twin to express the purest glide: fast, free, fluid and very natural.

From 6’1 to 6’11, it switches to a twinzer. This setup keeps the flow of a twin while adding more presence and control through the turns. The board keeps its fish feel, but becomes more settled and more composed as the size increases.

From 7’3 to 8’6, the Pie gets a multi-box Single Tab setup, allowing it to be surfed as a twin or a quad with a narrowed quad rear setup. As a twin, you keep a very free and gliding feel. As a quad, you gain drive, projection and stability on long lines.

That is the whole idea behind the Pie: twin for pure glide, twinzer to support the intermediate sizes, twin or quad on the bigger sizes to fine-tune the feel. A fast, playful and full-of-character board, capable of turning small to medium conditions into sessions packed with speed, speed build-up and fun.

Shape
OUTLINE

The Pie’s outline stays true to the compact fish spirit: generous, buoyant and highly efficient for getting into waves early. Its surface area brings stability, makes paddling easier and generates plenty of natural speed in small to medium waves.

The dimensions stay balanced so the board never feels cumbersome. You still get a short, lively board that’s easy to get going, with that free-flowing glide that makes a twin so appealing.

ROCKER

The flat rocker maximises paddling, early take-off and natural speed. The Pie gets up and gliding quickly, carries its speed and flows through soft sections without demanding too much effort.

This fast curve perfectly supports the twin-fin feel: the board flies, accelerates easily and keeps a smooth, flowing ride. You get a board that is easy to generate speed on, yet still very playful underfoot.

BOTTOM SHAPE

The hull combines a belly in the nose and a double concave V to blend smoothness, speed and manoeuvrability. The belly smooths out entry into carves, reduces edge-catching and makes the board more forgiving as it picks up speed.

The double concave V preserves plenty of glide while making rail-to-rail transitions easier. The Pie rolls easily from one rail to the other despite its planing surface, with a fluid, fast and very natural feel.

TAIL

The deep fish tail is the engine of the Pie. It delivers planing surface, stability and speed build-up, with two tips that provide precise points of leverage to carve turns and maintain grip.

Its depth releases excess pressure and preserves real manoeuvrability despite the width. You still get a fast, buoyant board, but one that can turn tightly and roll from rail to rail with plenty of flow.

RAILS

The rails match the Pie's twin-fin programme: forgiving enough to keep the ride smooth and fluid, yet with enough presence through the tail to transfer pressure and maintain control.

They let you surf off the shape's natural speed without losing feel for the board. You can let it run, draw things out, build speed again and push your carves with confidence, without breaking the fish's flow.

KEEL FINS

We keep the traditional keel fins so as not to alter what already works so well on this Pie shape. This pair of fins reduces drag to deliver maximum speed and that underfoot sense of freedom that defines the fish’s loose feel. Their long base opens up your carves while ensuring control and stability.

Single Tab connection: simple, direct and solid

The Single Tab system features a single, extended base on each fin. This design creates a solid connection with the fin box, making installation simple, fin changes quick, and power transfer exceptionally direct.

On the water, the benefits are immediate. The board responds instantly, the fins work without unwanted play, and every input translates into drive, grip and control. This is especially valuable on high performance boards, where precise feedback is essential at high speeds and through committed turns.

The Single Tab system also makes it easy to fine tune your setup for different conditions. Changing fin size, template or flex lets you refine the board's feel in just a few moments. It provides a clean, durable and efficient connection, allowing you to unlock the full potential of the shape.

Good to know: Single Tab fin boxes are only compatible with Single Tab fins.

Key benefits:

  • Simple installation and quick fin changes.
  • Direct connection for immediate response underfoot.
  • Excellent drive, grip and control through powerful turns.

Buying guide

Who is it for?

For surfers looking for a short, fast and seriously fun board, with the unique twin feel: free glide, easy speed build-up, fluid rail-to-rail and a less locked-in ride than a classic shortboard.

For surfers who want to make the most of small to medium conditions with a board that is easy to get going, gets up and goes early, carries speed and delivers loads of fun without demanding an extreme level.

For surfers who love modern fish shapes, but want to be able to fine-tune the level of hold depending on board size, rider build and conditions. The Pie always keeps its twin DNA, with the option to add more hold when needed.

What is it for?

To get back that fast, fluid and natural glide. The Pie is built to get going early, accelerate quickly, fly through soft sections and keep a very lively feel underfoot.

To surf with flow, speed build-up and loads of freedom. Its deep fish tail, low rocker and bottom shape make rail-to-rail transitions easy, with an instant feeling of speed.

To adapt the level of hold to your needs. In pure twin mode, the Pie delivers the freest glide. On the sizes that allow it, added hold brings more control, more grip and more confidence through your turns.

What board size?

The Pie is best chosen short and compact, because its fish outline, buoyant tail and natural glide already provide plenty of paddling ease, stability and speed.

Don’t choose it too long if you want to keep its playful feel. The whole point of the shape lies in its ability to get going early, fly fast and turn fluidly in a short, lively format.

If you’re between two sizes, choose the bigger one for more paddling ease, stability and comfort in weak waves. Choose the smaller one to emphasise manoeuvrability, liveliness and the twin’s free glide.

On the bigger sizes, fin setup becomes important: stay in twin to preserve a very free ride, or add more hold to better lock in your lines depending on your build, your style and the wave power.

What are the ideal waves?

Size: from small waves to medium waves, depending on your level, your build and the spot.

Power: it performs best in soft to average waves, when you need to generate your own speed, build speed easily and make it through weaker sections.

Shape: it likes waves with enough room to let it glide, accelerate and link carves. It works really well in imperfect conditions, as long as the goal is to keep flow, speed and a fluid ride.

Which construction?

The Pie really comes into its own in a light and responsive construction, able to enhance its natural speed, speed build-up and playful side in small to medium conditions.

A construction like EPS suits this programme perfectly: easy take-off, quick planing, lively speed build-up and the feeling of a board that responds instantly underfoot.

The goal is simple: a board that gets going early, keeps its energy and stays fun to surf, with enough responsiveness to make the most of its fish tail, bottom shape and twin setup.

Which fin setup?

The Pie always keeps its twin DNA. The twin Single Tab setup delivers the purest glide: less drag, more freedom, natural speed build-up and very fluid rail-to-rail.

Depending on the size, hold options let you add more grip, drive and control. The goal is not to turn the Pie into a locked-in board, but to fine-tune hold when the length, volume or rider build calls for it.

On the very biggest sizes, you can stay in twin to keep a very free glide, or add more hold to better lock in your lines, push harder through your turns and gain confidence as speed builds.

To sum it up simply: twin for maximum freedom, added hold for more grip.

Which shape should you choose?

Choose the Pie if you want a fish that is fast, lively and with excellent glide, capable of delivering loads of fun in small to medium waves.

Its deep fish tail brings planing, speed build-up and stability. Its low rocker generates speed. Its belly in the nose smooths out turn entry. Its double concave V makes rail-to-rail easier. Its twin setup keeps the glide free, with hold options depending on size.

The Pie is therefore the right choice for surfers who want to keep the glide, add control only when needed, and surf with speed, flow and freedom.

Frequent questions
What exactly is the Pie?

The Pie is a fast, compact fish with excellent glide, designed to deliver the unique twin feel: natural speed, easy acceleration, a free-flowing ride and smooth rail-to-rail transitions.

Who is the Pie for?

It’s aimed at surfers looking for a short, fun and accessible board, able to get going early, carry speed and turn small to medium conditions into sessions full of flow.

What kind of waves does it work best in?

It performs at its best in small to medium waves, from soft to average, when you need to generate your own speed, get through weaker sections and keep a smooth, flowing ride without forcing it.

Why is a deep fish tail important?

The deep fish tail delivers plenty of lift, stability and speed build-up. It also releases excess pressure, allowing the Pie to stay manoeuvrable, fast and incredibly fluid from rail to rail.

Is the Pie a true twin?

Yes, its twin DNA remains central. The twin setup delivers the purest glide, the loosest feel and the most natural speed build-up. Depending on the size, extra grip options can be added to improve hold.

Why add more grip on certain sizes?

The bigger the board, the more hold you may need depending on your size, style and the conditions. Adding grip gives you more drive, control and confidence, without disrupting the shape's flow.

Should you choose the short Pie?

Yes, the Pie is best chosen short and compact, because its fish outline, high-lift tail and natural glide already provide plenty of paddling speed, stability and speed.

What’s the difference compared with a classic shortboard?

A classic shortboard will feel more direct, more vertical and more locked-in. The Pie offers a freer, faster and more fluid glide, with plenty of speed build-up and a more playful feel in small to medium conditions.
