OUTLINE
A Modern Egg outline with a large usable surface area to make paddling, take-off and glide easier. The round point nose brings forgiveness and comfort up front, without becoming cumbersome in carves.
The surface area under your feet provides support to accelerate easily and maintain stability in everyday waves. You gain ease of use while keeping a dynamic, progressive ride.
ROCKER
A modern rocker, pronounced enough to bring forgiveness in steeper sections while keeping manoeuvrability through carves. The board handles less-than-perfect foot placement without becoming demanding.
The curve remains efficient for maintaining speed and making speed build-up easier. The result is a board that is easy to get going, smooth to ride and still capable of delivering a genuinely high-performance feel.
BOTTOM SHAPE
The hull is built around a deep concave under the front foot to channel the water and generate speed quickly. This area provides lift, drive and real ease through softer sections.
In the tail, the slight V makes rail-to-rail transitions easier. It smooths out the ride, frees up the end of turns and helps the board stay manoeuvrable despite its generous surface area.
TAIL

What board size?
You could define the Devil’s Tongue as accessible performance. Intermediate surfers will find their easy shortboard in it, while good surfers can turn it into a seriously radical board.
A progressing surfer can use it as a transition board, towards an easy shortboard after a mini Malibu for example, and can easily go down in size and volume without making things difficult. The transition will be very easy on the intermediate sizes from 6’4 upwards. You simply should not hesitate to take a bit more volume so as not to put yourself in difficulty. The goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible so you can keep progressing and maintain the highest possible success rate.
Progress relies largely on repetition, in other words, catching waves!
A good surfer can ride it short for a very skatey style. Its shape makes it very comfortable and efficient when paddling.
What are the ideal waves?
Size: from small clean waves up to well overhead, depending on your level, the spot and the setup chosen.

What fin setup?
The Devil’s Tongue is designed around a Single Tab tri-quad setup. This lets you ride it as a thruster or a quad depending on the conditions, your level and the feel you are after.
The thruster setup brings more control, pivot and precision. It is the setup to choose if you want a clearer feel, more centred under your feet and closer to a modern shortboard. It helps you place the board, control your lines and progress through your turns.
The quad setup maximises speed, glide and speed build-up. It is very interesting in weaker waves, when you want to keep your speed, get through sections and enjoy a more fluid glide.
If you are progressing, the thruster will often be the easiest setup to understand, because it gives a predictable feel that is easy to control. If you are looking for more speed and glide in small waves, the quad will give more efficiency and instant fun.
The strength of the Devil’s Tongue is precisely this adaptability: a more controlled feel as a thruster, faster and with more glide as a quad.
Rake
Rake refers to the rearward sweep of the fin. The more rake there is, the further back the fin tip sits towards the tail.
With more rake, the Devil’s Tongue will gain hold, drive and longer carves. That is interesting if you want to stabilise the board, surf with more pressure through your turns or gain more control when the waves start carrying more speed.
