SUP Inflatable I-SUP Shortboard
Program
The inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard with truly radical surfing capabilities!
Presentation
I-SUP boards are high-end boards created by Patrice Guénolé, a pioneering shaper in the world of Stand Up Paddle, and a team of passionate engineers.
Our I-SUP Shortboards are designed to deliver surfing performance close to that of rigid boards ! In 2026, their shape evolved for even greater performance, with a thinner and more responsive board underfoot. Quickly inflated and compact, they are lively and lightweight.
A revolutionary innovation in inflatables: GONG is the only brand offering inflatable boards equipped with FCS2 boxes!
The world's most practical and high-end fin boxes are exclusively available on our inflatable boards. With our patented inclusion system , you get FCS2 performance, the best fins in the world, and all without a single screw. Honestly, it's brilliant.
We offer 4 sizes to suit all surfer sizes and remain accessible to those who want to try SUP in the waves but for whom transport or storage space is a real problem.
Lively and responsive underfoot thanks to its welded double-layer Woven Dropstitch construction, it reveals impressive surfing capabilities that will surprise many! The refined shape , with a 1" drop at the same length and a thinner nose, improves precision and reaction time in maneuvers. The diamond tail provides more drive, control, and stability at high speeds for a more committed and high-performance surfing experience.
Compact and easy to transport, it's the perfect board for a surf break between appointments or for long-distance surf trips.
With a superb design, woven dropstitch construction and quality accessories, the I-SUP Shortboard is truly a very beautiful Stand Up Paddle board at a record price in the high-end category.
Finally, your board and all your equipment fit into a new bag redesigned to make your life easier!
Outline
Its shape remains short for an ideal compromise between speed and maneuverability in the surf . The diamond tail propels you forward while its performance nose allows for tight, limitless turns. It's a clever adaptation of the thousands of templates we've developed over the last 30 years that results in such efficient, engaging, and user-friendly performance.

Rocker
The pronounced rocker at the nose allows for a more secure takeoff and better wave handling while surfing. It remains relatively straight at the tail to maintain good speed and get through sections.

Rigid Tail Rail
The semi-rigid edge rails at the tail allow you to carve beautiful, precise turns. The improvement in drive and stability while surfing is undeniable! This clearly boosts your surfing and lets you push harder.
In 2026, its integration is optimized with softer tips and even closer to a rigid board.

Diamond Tail
The diamond tail provides lift for maintaining drive in mushy waves. The board feels light underfoot, allowing you to place it exactly where you want, and powerful at high speeds.

2+1 Fins
The 2+1 configuration (2 removable side fins to the FCS2 standard, and 1 deeper central fin mounted on a US box) delivers remarkable grip and maneuverability in the corners.
You can vary the setups to explore different surfing sensations. The board accelerates on the rail, and you pack it all away in two seconds. A revolution.

Nose
The refined rounded point nose has a contained width to combine stability when paddling and aggressive turns.

Buying guide
For whom?
Those who want to surf all types of waves will love this GONG board.
A good level of Stand Up Paddle skill is required except for large sizes.
Pros will find amazing performance and curves close to a rigid bike of the same volume.
For what ?
Ideal for surfing, it performs well in all types of waves. Highly maneuverable, it's the ultimate inflatable board.
It really works in all types of waves, including relatively large waves for an inflatable, up to a good man's size.
Even in larger sizes, you can still stroll around in a relaxed way.
Its compact size is great for quick inflation.
What size board is needed for the I-SUP Shortboard?
While anything is possible, we outline the main uses here:
The 7'10 x 28'' Shortboard:
- A true, sharp surfer who loves curves.
- 100% surf. This is the board dedicated to maneuvers.
- Size: ideally less than 70kg, this small size is technical.
The 8'5 x 29'' Shortboard:
- A true, sharp surfer who loves curves.
- 100% surf. This is the board dedicated to maneuvers.
- Ideal size: less than 85kg.
The 8'10 x 30'' Shortboard:
- A true, sharp surfer who loves curves.
- 100% surf. This is the board dedicated to maneuvers.
- Ideal weight: less than 95kg. Easy.
The 9'5 x 32'' Shortboard:
- A true, sharp surfer who loves curves.
- 100% surf. This is the board dedicated to maneuvers, but we also love it for cruising.
- Size: 90kg and over. Easy.
Understanding the GONG range?
What is the difference between our I-SUP range and our First range?
Which quiver?
This board goes hand in hand with a GONG Carbon Pro paddle cut to your size, and a set of high-end FCS fins in fiberglass or carbon.
What paddle length?
Your paddling technique, posture, and stroke rate all depend on your paddling style. You'll need to set your paddle quite high for a leisurely paddle trip lasting several hours. Conversely, your paddle will be set very low for surfing, as you'll need a high stroke rate to catch a wave. Take the time to properly adjust your paddle, as it's the driving force behind this activity, and this adjustment will largely determine your stability and performance.
Some examples:
A 100% surf session, adjust your paddle between your height and +10cm.
For a more relaxed surfing experience, a paddle with a +10cm length will be perfect.
When paddling, adjust your paddle between +10 and +20cm.
Which leash?
Take a leash that is approximately the length of your board and at least 7mm in diameter.
Check its condition before each session and replace it annually. It's your life jacket.
Good to know:
Never leave your board in the sun, especially an inflatable one, which heats up very quickly. It could start to peel apart because the materials become brittle in the heat. Never store it under a car window or near any heat source.
Never let your board get battered by the waves, especially near the shore. You must protect it from the harshest forces. A wave that sweeps your board away and rolls it can cause damage.
Don't hold onto the leash indefinitely, as it can break under very high tension. Avoid large waves and don't resist. If it breaks, it's easy to replace but frustrating.
Stay away from oysters: they are one of the few shellfish that can cut your board and sink it in seconds. Extreme caution is advised.
Don't let your inflatable surfboard rub against anything for extended periods. For example, on a boat, your board might move with each wave and rub against the same spot for hours. The material will disintegrate because it will be sanded down. You'll end up with a hole that will need to be patched.
Never put the board between you and the wave: risk of injury such as a broken nose ;-)
Don't paddle offshore in offshore winds, and avoid windy outings as they are rarely enjoyable and always dangerous. Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is an activity that carries real risks, even in seemingly calm conditions. Always anticipate these risks and protect yourself.
