I-SUP boards are high-end boards created by Patrice Guénolé, a pioneering shaper in the world of Stand Up Paddle, and a team of passionate engineers.

The I-SUP Hybrid is THE versatile and accessible surfboard in the range , designed to make the most of everyday waves ! Inspired by rigid compact shapes, like the Mob, it offers the ideal balance between versatility, performance in soft conditions, ease of use and stability.

Inflation is quick. Compact and easy to transport, it's the perfect board for surfing whenever the opportunity arises , without the hassle of handling it on land or in the water.

Paddling is easy and confidence-inspiring. Its distributed volume and compact outline offer excellent stability, whether paddling up to the peak or waiting calmly even in choppy conditions. It allows you to easily position yourself at the peak and perform take-off after take-off without getting too tired.

In surfing, it reveals its full potential! Its compact and buoyant shape generates speed naturally, even in less powerful waves. It catches early, accelerates quickly, and maintains a smooth glide in sections lacking power. It offers a modern surfing experience, with instinctive rail-to-rail riding , on a board that responds instantly underfoot without feeling unstable.

Outline

The board's outline is compact, with a centered volume: stability is immediate, and the lift provides ideal comfort for both paddling and surfing. The diamond nose and tail are a deliberate design. The board generates speed effortlessly while remaining forgiving; it's smooth to ride, and rail-to-rail transitions and maneuvers are instinctive.

Rocker

The pronounced rocker at the nose allows for a more secure takeoff and better wave handling while surfing. It remains relatively straight at the tail to maintain good speed and get through sections.

Rigid tail rail

The semi-rigid edge rails at the tail allow you to carve beautiful, precise turns. The improvement in drive and stability while surfing is undeniable! This clearly boosts your surfing and lets you push harder.

In 2026, its integration is optimized with softer tips and ever closer to a rigid board.

Diamond Tail

The diamond tail provides lift for maintaining drive in mushy waves. You can feel the board accelerate under pressure, allowing you to place it exactly where you want in the wave without constantly having to maintain speed.

2+1 fins

The 2+1 configuration (2 removable side fins to the FCS2 standard, and 1 deeper central fin mounted on a US box) delivers remarkable grip and maneuverability in the corners.

You can vary the setups to explore different surfing sensations. The board accelerates on the rail, and you pack it all away in two seconds. A revolution.

Diamond Nose

The nose features a wide, supportive, diamond-shaped noseless design. Made from 4" thick dropstitch material, it remains responsive and reinterprets the classic inflatable SUP design.

This geometry increases lift at the front and facilitates takeoffs while limiting overall inertia. Forgiving and efficient, it's one of the board's keys to transforming mushy conditions into a true playground.

Shortboard fins

The I-SUP Hybrid features a US Box center fin box and two FCS II side fin boxes, supplied with Glass Flex fins and a 9” US center fin. This setup was specifically designed to maximize the performance of the I-SUP range.

Since fins account for up to 50% of a board’s performance, GONG has chosen this premium setup, a true benchmark in the surfing world. The result is an innovative, precise, and highly versatile fin configuration that gives you access to the widest selection of high-performance fins on the market, perfectly adaptable to your skill level, riding style, and water conditions.

Ridge Traction Pad

With its perfect grip and 5 mm thickness, the new Ridge Traction Pad delivers outstanding comfort and absolute traction. Your footing stays fully secure, giving you precise, razor-sharp control.

The contact with the board feels firm and direct for confident footing and committed paddling performance, while still maintaining the cushioning comfort of a 5 mm pad.

Transport Bag

Everything comes packed in a super practical and durable wheeled transport bag.

The wheels are positioned on the opposite side of the carrying panel, so they won’t bump against you while walking or roll over the shoulder straps.
The backpack straps are heavily padded and very comfortable.
The handles are extremely sturdy and pleasant to grip.
The front pocket has been enlarged to isolate and protect your paddle from the rest of your gear… while also leaving room for your wetsuit, poncho, spare clothes, and whatever else ;), now without any space constraints!
And the compression straps reduce the bag’s volume to the absolute minimum.

Double-Action Pump

The included high-speed double-action pump is extremely efficient, helping you be the first on the water without exhausting yourself:

Double action: air is pumped both when pushing and pulling the handle during the first stage of inflation.
Single action: during the final strokes, when inflation becomes more demanding as the board pressure increases, switch to single action mode so the pump inflates only when pushing the handle down. It’s far more comfortable and efficient!

Inflatable I-SUP Technology - Woven Fusion

Thanks to its high-end Woven Dropstitch Fusion inflatable technology, GONG I-SUP boards are sleek, lightweight, highly rigid, and incredibly durable.

The I-SUPs feature a double thermo-welded layer on the deck and the hull. It is this membrane that gains in lightness while maintaining the rigidity of a double layer.

The dropstitch used inside our I-SUPs is a Woven Dropstitch : it is the best assembly technique of the inflatable world, for best in class performance, rigidity and lightness.

Woven Dropstitch technology, the best compromise between weight/stiffness/strength. Combining our historical Double Layer Welded technology with the new Woven Dropstitch, this technology is by far the most reliable, lightest and stiffest.
Weight savings of around 20% compared to the classic Double Layer (no glue between the 2 welded PVC layers).
Rigidity gain of 30% compared to standard technology.
Strength gain: twice as thick as standard technology.
Double layer of PVC on the rails.
Premium Woven Dropstitch: the slightest irregularity is refused and the batch is resold to low cost factories.

Working pressure: 15 PSI. Our Stand Up Paddle Boards are perfectly rigid at 15 PSI. There is no need to overinflate them, but you can mount them at 20 PSI without any problem.

For whom?

Two visions: performance in soft waves with a compact and fast board, or immediate enjoyment with an easy and stable board for everyday use.

The I-SUP Hybrid combines the two: it starts early, accelerates quickly and remains accessible, it will make you surf more often without complicating your life.

You choose your level of commitment based on the size and volume. A good level of Stand Up Paddleboarding is required, except for the largest volumes.

Professionals will find very respectable performance and curves close to a rigid bike of the same volume.

For what ?

Accelerate quickly, maintain speed and take advantage of mushy waves: that's where the I-SUP Hybrid reveals itself.

Compact, fluid and maneuverable, it allows for modern and accessible surfing, with easy restarts and consistent glide in all everyday conditions.

What size board is needed for the I-SUP Hybrid?

While anything is possible, we outline the main uses here:

The 7'8 x 28'' Hybrid:

A true daily driver: fast and smooth.
100% surf, maximum drive.
Size: ideally less than 70kg, this small size is technical.

The 8'8 x 30'' Hybrid:

A true daily driver: fast and smooth.
100% surf, maximum drive.
Size: ideally less than 100kg.

The 9'8 x 32'' Hybrid:

A true daily driver: fast and smooth.
100% surf, maximum drive. We'll also be happy to have it for a short ride.
Size: 90kg and over. Easy.

Which quiver?

This board goes hand in hand with a GONG Carbon Pro paddle cut to your size, and a set of high-end FCS fins in fiberglass or carbon.

What paddle length?

Your paddling technique, posture, and stroke rate all depend on your paddling style. You'll need to set your paddle quite high for a leisurely paddle trip lasting several hours. Conversely, your paddle will be set very low for surfing, as you'll need a high stroke rate to catch a wave. Take the time to properly adjust your paddle, as it's the driving force behind this activity, and this adjustment will largely determine your stability and performance.

Some examples:

A 100% surf session, adjust your paddle between your height and +10cm.

For a more relaxed surfing experience, a paddle with a +10cm length will be perfect.

When paddling, adjust your paddle between +10 and +20cm.

Which leash?

Take a leash that is approximately the length of your board and at least 7mm in diameter.

Check its condition before each session and replace it annually. It's your life jacket.

Good to know:

Never leave your board in the sun, especially an inflatable one, which heats up very quickly. It could start to peel apart because the materials become brittle in the heat. Never store it under a car window or near any heat source.

Never let your board get battered by the waves, especially near the shore. You must protect it from the harshest forces. A wave that sweeps your board away and rolls it can cause damage.

Don't hold onto the leash indefinitely, as it can break under very high tension. Avoid large waves and don't resist. If it breaks, it's easy to replace but frustrating.

Stay away from oysters: they are one of the few shellfish that can cut your board and sink it in seconds. Extreme caution is advised.

Don't let your inflatable surfboard rub against anything for extended periods. For example, on a boat, your board might move with each wave and rub against the same spot for hours. The material will disintegrate because it will be sanded down. You'll end up with a hole that will need to be patched.

Never put the board between you and the wave: risk of injury such as a broken nose ;-)

Don't paddle offshore in offshore winds, and avoid windy outings as they are rarely enjoyable and always dangerous. Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is an activity that carries real risks, even in seemingly calm conditions. Always anticipate these risks and protect yourself.
