The advantage over surf foiling which also shines in very small waves, is that you don’t have to cope with a deep mast. It’s a big advantage to enjoy small waves that normally break in shallow water (in theory, it’s 0,7 times the height of the wave). On the wave, a SUP easily produces speed to go for the same surfing attitudes as when you score better conditions in surfing. Fun sessions ahead with your SUP in conditions that are generally not very stimulating for a surf session.
