FEEDBACK: MÂT HM 70

Feedback from David who had a first surf foiling session with the new High Modulus 70 cm mast.

I expected a lot out of this mast and I must say that it did not disappoint. My aluminum mast wasn’t doing a bad job at all but the gain in control and precision is precious when the situation gets critical. In this first session I had no problem getting over the whitewater or pumping in the distance. I could almost think of my grocery list while pumping…

Given my big size and my fairly average level in pumping, I usually use a large foil (1750cm²). I feel like this large size made my old mast twist in turns and pumping. From time to time I felt a slight vacillation as if the board was going in one direction and the foil in another. None of that with this HM 70 Mast.

The rigidity is perfect.

We are on a perfectly united set-up.

I was apprehensive about switching to a taller mast (I was on a 65) but no worries despite the small size of the waves that day. It was all the better for pumping.

Only downside: I can no longer blame the gear for my falls, touchdowns or shortness of breath! ;)”
