FEEDBACK: FLUID H IN DOCK START
With the lack of wind for wing foiling, our GONG ambassador Nicolas went for a dock start sesh to test the brand new high aspect Fluid XL-H front wing.
“No wind but I had to test my toys somehow! So I thought I would try this HA foil with a dock start sesh…
Test conditions: a guy who’s not a newborn (49 years old), kind of overweight (88kgs), lower back problems (I have to wear a belt for back support…), the dock was kind of too high, too short and too slippery… but hey, let’s go anyway…
First part of the test with my usual wing (Fluid XXL-T) but with the Pro H stabs (Fluid 45 then Veloce 47)… Well you know what? The image that comes to me is losing the caravan from the car and removing the handbrake! Awesome! It’s not the same foil anymore.
So then I’m thinking let’s try the Fluid XL-H… Given my size and my physical limitations at the moment, I didn’t think I would manage to do much… but after a few attempts, the magic is happening… OMG, it’s accelerating like crazy!!!! On the other hand, it is better to anticipate the radius of your turn ! I almost hit the dock on the way back! I’ve never had such feelings of speed while pumping, it’s a blast!
Can’t wait to test all this in Wing foiling.”
