FEEDBACK: DROID LIGHT
The ideal compactness and wind range for stress-free travel!

A compact wing with a boom
“A little feedback on the Droid Light 4.5 after a few sessions in northern Fuerteventura.
My wife got back into wing foiling after a long break due to health issues. It was also her first time using a boom (and mine too, actually). She immediately loved the wing!
I was a little worried that the wing might generate too much power for her, but not at all. Even in the gusts, it remains very easy to control. The compact, rigid shape, light weight and colors are really great. A very nice surprise!
On my side, I got to test it in perfect side-shore wave conditions. I’ve been riding almost exclusively lowkite for over a year, and before that I was using soft handles. For these wave sessions, I figured I’d take the wing, since it’s much quicker to get out of the impact zone when things get sketchy and there were a lot of people in the water. Plus, it was also a great opportunity to test this little gem.
And then... what a surprise with this wing!”
Upwind ability and freefly behavior?
“The 4.5 is perfect for me in these conditions. I was on the Ypra Surf 920 and unfortunately hadn’t brought anything smaller for the trip. The wing goes upwind well and behaves really nicely in a neutral position while surfing, using the free surf handle. The Neutra Light will probably be even better in this area, but I had absolutely no issues with the Droid: it never flipped over during any of my wave sessions.
In short, I’m really impressed with this Droid Light. It’s perfect for traveling, since it works just as well for my wife as it does for me in the waves. Now we just need to see how it holds up over time. I hope it keeps all these qualities for a long time!” Thanks Cédric for this feedback shared on the GONG Galaxy group.
