“This weekend I had some foil tuning to do, so I headed to the lake, it’s more convenient for getting in and out of the water repeatedly. It was also a chance to test the 2026 Droid Aramid (not X) in 5m across its full wind range (10–25 knots).
Well, damn! This thing is not for the faint-hearted. I already have a 2025 Droid Aramid X in the same size, but this is a whole different story. The 2026 version makes no compromises, it’s built to be sheeted in and stay sheeted in. It accelerates nonstop, pulls hard, and don’t even think about easing off mid-run, it’ll quickly let you know that’s not what it’s made for.
Transitions are easy; the wing flips from one side to the other instantly and without hesitation. The lift is beyond anything I’m used to (mainly Neutra X 2024 and 2025). The wing is compact. A real little rocket.”
Droid or Neutra Aramid X?
“If your goal is to race your friends (and especially beat them) and do freestyle, this is a real machine, and a harness is mandatory unless you’ve got serious arm strength.
If your program is strapless riding, relaxed freeride, and surfing, then the Neutra is more suitable.”
