Based in Teahupoʻo, Tahiti, Mateia Hiquily grew up surrounded by nature and powerful ocean conditions, shaping his deep connection to the water and his approach to riding. He was inspired to join the GONG team through the search for the perfect boards capable of performing in every kind of condition.

Drawing from years of experience and travel, Mateia brings a versatile and adaptable perspective to watersports. He is most proud of the experiences and opportunities he has gained through competition and exploring different waves around the world. Looking ahead, he is excited to continue traveling and pursuing new surf trips and adventures.
