After switching from a Ypra Race M V2 to a Veloce HDW XS V3, Piero is sharing his thoughts on our GONG Galaxy group.

“Test conditions: steady wind at 13 to 15 knots. Very light chop, 20 to 30 cm.

Setup: Cruz Diamond 5’10”, HM107 V2 mast, Droid UPE Aramid 6.5m².

Rider: 70 kg, not super experienced, but I manage (almost) all my jibes and tacks.

After an hour of having a blast with the Ypra Race 800 (I absolutely love this wing), I decide to try out the Veloce HDW 600 with the Fluid V3 M stab."

Stability, speed, and maneuverability.

"Impressive! The takeoff is easier than with the Ypra, even with 200 cm² less! Plus, the foil stays really stable at low speeds! I don’t have a way to measure speed accurately anymore, but I definitely feel like I'm going much faster than with the Ypra. The feeling is still the same: super stable, no need to be a world champion to make the foot changes, very easy to turn, with great inertia.

Really a success! Congratulations to the whole GONG team, it’s a great evolution.

Just to be clear, I have no reason to advertise for GONG. When it’s bad, I won’t hold back. But when it’s good, it deserves to be acknowledged!
