Programme

The no-fuss compact board for learning fast and having fun in wing foiling and lowkite.

Overview

The Lance is the compact board that makes wing foiling simple, comfortable and fun. Very stable before take-off, short underfoot and easy to get to grips with, it lets you start out with confidence while still delivering a lively enough ride to support real progression.

Its compact format makes all the difference. With very little length in front of and behind your feet, the board immediately feels less cumbersome once up on foil. It turns easily, naturally follows changes in foot pressure and delivers a much more playful feel than a big progression board.

Its generous width and well-distributed volume provide loads of stability, both on your knees and standing up. You can take your time to lift the wing, place your feet and accelerate without constantly fighting for balance. The buoyant tail provides solid support underfoot and helps keep the board flat as you build speed for take-off.

The recessed deck brings your feet closer to the foil for a stronger connection and more direct control. For 2027, the slightly slimmer nose reduces bulk up front while retaining enough volume for reassuring take-offs and more forgiving touchdowns.

This combination of stability, compactness and control also makes it an excellent lowkite board. You can manage the wing, get to your feet, then gradually build speed before letting the foil take over.

Easy before take-off, compact and playful once on foil: the Lance lets you progress without overcomplicating things.

OUTLINE

The Lance packs maximum ease into a short outline with generous width. Its generous width provides plenty of stability both kneeling and standing, while its short length reduces bulk once on foil.

The volume distribution inspires confidence before and during take-off, while the slightly slimmer nose for 2027 reduces bulk up front to keep the board lively and maneuverable.

ROCKER

The rocker stays fairly flat through the rear third to promote glide and acceleration before take-off. The Lance naturally builds speed without requiring perfectly dialled pumping, which makes those first take-offs much easier.

This efficiency is particularly valuable in light wind, where it makes it easy to turn the pull from the wing or lowkite into useful speed.

HULL

The hull combines a wide, flat, planing tail section with a double concave in the nose. The flat rear section maximises the usable surface area on the water to stabilise the board and help it accelerate up to take-off speed. Up front, the double concave channels the flow during water contact and helps maintain speed more effectively.

The Lance glides easily before take-off and stays forgiving when the nose touches back down.

TAIL

The wide squash tail provides plenty of support at low speed and plays a major role in the Lance's stability.

It provides a stable platform for kneeling, getting to your feet and starting to build speed. Its generous surface area also lets you progressively load the back foot without throwing the board off balance, making it easier to initiate take-off despite the very compact format.

RAILS

The rails are straight and sharp through the rear third to allow water to release cleanly from the hull during acceleration.

This geometry adds drive and helps the Lance reach take-off speed easily. Moving forward towards the nose, the rails become progressively softer and more rounded to improve forgiveness and limit slowdowns when the board makes contact with the water again.

NOSE

The rounded point nose keeps enough volume to make take-offs more forgiving while staying very compact in front of your feet. Its outline is slightly slimmer for 2027 to further reduce bulk and give the board a freer feel once on foil.

Combined with the bulb, the double concave and the softened rails, it helps the Lance handle touchdowns better and build speed again quickly rather than stopping abruptly.

Recessed deck

The recessed deck brings your feet closer to the foil for a stronger connection, greater precision, and more control. This lower position transfers foot pressure more effectively, whether riding strapped or strapless, while leaving enough freedom to adjust your stance.

You feel more secure, closer to your foil, and enjoy a more direct feel through every maneuver.

Volume distributed from nose to tail

The lowered deck is combined with added volume at the front and rear to maintain support around the rider. The maximum nose volume is positioned closer to the stance to provide better support during take-off, acceleration and water contact. At the rear, the volume follows the same principle, creating a natural continuity in the shape from nose to tail.

The Perf Series range brings together boards designed for easy progression, hassle-free riding, and maximum fun on the water.

The WOOD 2X and FSP 2X constructions share this philosophy right down to their graphics, with vibrant, colorful, instantly recognizable decks: solid colors on the WOOD 2X, brushed finishes on the FSP 2X.

Footstrap inserts

The new footstrap inserts improve both adjustability and hold. At the rear, the two-screw mounting system offers 5 positions to fine-tune foot placement while limiting strap rotation under heavy loads. At the front, 3 positions let you adjust your stance, with paired lateral inserts arranged diagonally to strengthen the connection and keep the strap securely in place when pushing hard.

Footstraps Light

The V-shaped Footstraps Light prioritize comfort, simplicity, and freedom of movement. Their layout naturally centers your front foot and makes rail-to-rail transitions easier, while their minimal coverage lets you slide your feet in quickly and naturally.

Ridge Traction Pad

At 5 mm thick, the Ridge Traction Pad offers an excellent balance of comfort, grip, and precision. Its texture keeps your footing secure, minimizes small slips, and maintains very direct control of the board and foil.

The pad feels firm underfoot to transmit rider input precisely, with enough cushioning to keep you comfortable during long sessions and touchdowns.

Who is it for?

Whether you're a beginner or simply looking for an easy, stable, no-fuss board, the Lance is made for laid-back progression.

In wing and lowkite alike, its job is to make your life easier: loads of stability to calmly manage the phases before take-off, with a compact format that stays fun and lively once you're on foil.

It can also work for SUP foiling thanks to its stability, but that's not its main programme. Its short length already requires you to be comfortable paddling a short board.

Which stab?

With an X-Over front wing, the X-Over stab is the natural choice to keep a foil setup that is balanced, stable and easy.

With an Ascent, the choice of stab lets you fine-tune the behaviour depending on your level, weight and the feel you're after. On the Lance, the priority is control, support and ease.

Which board bag?

Equipments

These boards come equipped with 2 GONG US Box Double Entry systems compatible with standard 4-bolt plate foils and the SCS system with 9 cm spacing, Light Footstraps with multi-position inserts, a Ridge Traction Pad, an integrated carry handle, a leash plug and an automatic vent screw.

The Double Entry system allows for very fast installation of GONG foils while remaining compatible with standard square-nut setups. The SCS is not supplied with the board.

Is the Lance suitable for getting started in wing foiling?

Yes. Its generous width, ample volume and buoyant tail provide plenty of stability both kneeling and standing. It lets you take your time before take-off and progress without constantly fighting for balance.

Why choose a Lance over a Zuma?

The Lance offers a shorter, more compact shape and a livelier feel, mainly geared towards wing foiling and lowkite. The Zuma brings more length and glide, with greater versatility in SUP foiling.

Isn't a compact board harder to start on?

Not with the Lance. Its short length is offset by plenty of width and well-distributed volume. So you still get excellent stability before take-off, while benefiting from a board that’s less cumbersome and more playful once up on foil.

Is the Lance suitable for lowkite?

Yes. Its stability lets you handle the lowkite calmly, get to your feet, then accelerate without rushing. Its compact shape makes it particularly enjoyable to ride once on foil.

Can you do SUP foiling with the Lance?

Yes, but that’s not its main purpose. It’s stable, but its short length requires good paddling technique. You already need to be able to paddle efficiently on a short board.

Which foil should you choose with the Lance?

The X-Over is ideal for learning to foil, with plenty of stability and predictable handling. The Ascent remains easy to use while offering more freedom and room to progress.

Can the Lance be used with or without straps?

Yes. Its Ridge Traction Pad makes it comfortable to ride strapless, while its multiple insert positions let you adjust the placement of the Light Footstraps to suit your stance and riding style.

Is the WOOD 2X construction suitable for progression?

Yes. Its full wood sandwich construction, combined with specific reinforcements in high-stress areas, prioritises strength, reliability and durability. A well-balanced construction for session after session of confident progression.
